She may well be a hypocrite, but really—-$137,000 since 2005? Talk about chicken feed! $26,000/year for these people is a tiny drop in the bucket, especiallly compared to her agriculture subsidies. Still, the fact that they take gov’t money from programs that they think should not exist is not a good indicator of her purported “moral values” and how she puts them into practice. Hold her feet to the fire.

You are so right. But this applying for and accepting benefits from government programs you say are immoral is the Ayn Rand way of doing things. In essence – if it costs me money it’s immoral, but if it puts money in my pocket it’s just fine.

You might want to read that again…
“the mental health clinic run by her husband has been collecting annual Medicaid payments totaling over $137,000 for the treatment of patients since 2005″
That’s more than $137,000 a year in Medicaid payments. According to her own disclosure statements, that’s just the beginning of the funds they get from the government. She’s a hypocrite– her candidacy is dead. There’s no way to weasel your way out of it. “Medicaid is swelling the welfare rolls, but that $137,000 sure looks nice on our family balance sheet” just won’t work.

The only difference bwteen this this shrill and Snow “White Trash” Palin is the special needs baby. Like Palin, she loves government-issued entitlements(Remember Sarah’s little problem with earmarks?), has crapped out more children than the slide at Dorny Park (has to show that she’s really againgst abortion), makes some of the most breathtakingly moronic comments, and think’s she’s absolutely immune to criticism. Maybe one of the voices in her head has some humility, but I don’t think Kock Industris had that in mind when they implanted a chip in what was left of a brain.

Bachmann is Palin v2.0. Like my granny used to say, “You can polish a turd all you want but it’s still a turd”. They both want to take the money for themselves while saying they aren’t. They both want to replace the constitution with their version of religion so they can tell us all what we can and can’t do with our lives and bodies. They even wish to teach it in schools while at the same time berating the President for encouraging kids to stay in school and berating the First Lady for encouraging kids to eat healthy because their goal is to “destroy America” and take away free choice. The hypocrisy is laughable, evil and very scary.

In republican circles this is known as an “oversight.” It was revealed on yesterday that our GA State Speaker, David Ralston, has been delinquent in paying his taxes for almost 20 years. When he was asked about it, he responded that it was an “oversight.” Expect Bachmann to either ignore the question when asked about these Medicaid and subsidy payments or to call it an “oversight.” No worries. Her supporters will blame the “liberal media” for shining a light on her hypocrisy. Some media person should have the courage to ask her why she and her husband failed to pay their 2009 real estate taxes until 2010. The MN Independent reported on this story last year. It didn’t get much traction because the MSM is very selective in its news reporting.

This won’t sway her supporters one bit. They’ll say he was forced to take medicaid and probably make the whole thing about the new health care law. When does a neo-con answer a question honestly. The only thing they know how to do is point fingers. It really is disgraceful what they have done to this country the last thirty years and are still treated with respect by the media and even listened to by people. The facts and statistics speak for themselves and we need to get the wage disparity graph on a times square billboard.

As far as I know, doctors are not required by law to take medicaid/medicare patients. In spite of a dramatic increase in population, I live in a county medicare considers “rural.” With their formula doctors here had been getting less in reimbursements than those in “urban” areas…I think anyone with heart would do well to praise those doctors who choose to take patients provided with government aid…

That’s a fine argument, but then shouldn’t it apply to all people on welfare and all institutions using taxpayer money to help the poor and disadvantaged, like healthcare reform, Medicare, social security, etc? And if so, why is the Tea Party against such things? Speaking of government mandates, why is it OK for our tax dollars to go to MB’s husband’s clinic, which is not a medical clinic but a mental health clinic, where they treat the “gay” implementing his religious beliefs? His clinic offers: “‘quality Christian counseling’ for a large number of mental health problems ranging from ‘anger management’ to addictions and eating disorders.”"

Ruh roh. Actually the real story is the quack treatment inflicted on the people suckered into seeking help at this clinic. It makes Scientology look conventional.

i heard bits of this a few weeks ago. the numbers keep rising. i bet there will lots more skeletons soon, bet the numbers go way up, & aside from the numerous video clips of her nonsense… i also can conceive of this story leaked to nbc by ailes, rove, bozell and/or luntz. i really believe the GOP overlords do not want bachmann or palin, of which neither they would be able to control. they want a talking head like romney who will carry the water for the kock bros and the billionaire aristocracy, or perry, [who is an empty suit as you can get]… but she is tenacious, aint she?

These so-called conservative Tea-Party Republicans are such hypocrites. My Represenative, Todd Akin, says: “at the heart of Liberalism is a hatred of God…..” WHAT’S with these guys? They’re the chosen political party? So Bachmann’s husband’s counseling service recieves Medicaid payment. What hypocracy.

Now, now… it’s only “welfare” when it’s helping PEOPLE, not when it’s helping her Husband’s Pray-Away-Teh-Gay BUSINESS.
So nothing hypocritical there, it’s standard conservatism: “Welfare is for corporations, not losers.”

Choosing between her and Palin is just like Reynardine once said. It’s choosing between Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber, because they both have a penchant for blatant lying and outlandish mangling of facts. They both profess to be Christians, but their behavior toward those less fortunate is anything but. The fact that the Bachmann family received anything at all from Medicaid, while expressing the desire to deny one penny of it to others, speaks volumes about MB’s character, which is both brain-dead and morally bankrupt.

Anyone that has worked in the Mental Health system knows that Medicaid Psychiatrists are very hard to come by. They are overworked and underpaid. I would be willing to guess that there is a licensed psych coming to the office once or twice a week or medication refills and adjustments.
I agree that Bachman is a quote machine and hypocritical on many things. However, the Medicaid payments for an underserved community of people with mental illness is “gold star.”

It’s hypocritical of her to have a political stance against them while taking the money. This isn’t about the values behind it, though I agree that services for the poor are to be supported. That said, his clinic is a Christian clinic where they work on fixing “gay” people and anger management.

This lunatic, from my home state, must be stopped! Frankly, I’m hopeful that this run for the presidency will take her off our hands for a while. I trust that the vast majority of the voting public will be able to see her for the hypocrite she is. Maybe she and Palin will join forces and it can be the “Dumb & Dumber” (interchangeable) ticket. Pffffttt.

The Bachmann campaign reeks of hypocrisy. Add a touch of irony – The husband runs a mental health facility and she allowed to be unsupervised?

Just another phony, baloney, egotistical, pompous, self-righteous political hopeful who spews hypocrisy. Get lost Bachmann. This country has no use for false preachers like you. Clean up your own dirty house before you try to clean up ours. What a miscreant of heart you really are. Shame on you

Soooo, what should the mental health clinic do, turn away patients because they are on Medicare? Many medical facilities are no longer accepting Medicare patients because the gov’t pays less than private insurance. All this says is that the clinic did NOT turn away the poor and elderly, nor exclude them because of the lower pay scale for Medicare patients. This is an act of comapssion, not merely for personal gain. These medicare recipeints received services for the payments, period. They did not just hand over money to bachmann’s husband in a paper bag.If these Medicare patients were privately insured, the payments might be double that of the Medicare allotments. This one will backfire people…THINK !
