On FNC’s America’s Newsroom today, reporter Greg Palkot was delivering a report on how the recent winter weather in Europe is causing travel problems, when he added, “A pre winter storm like Europe hasn’t seen in years, forget about all that global warming talk.” According to Fox, snow in winter is now evidence against global warming.
John McCain was on Fox News Sunday today where he criticized President Obama for giving himself a first year grade last week. McCain said, “I don’t — presidents I know usually don’t grade themselves. Usually they let the people grade them.” Do you think McCain is still a little bitter?
Former DNC chairman Howard Dean was on NBC’s Meet The Press today talking about the compromise healthcare bill. Dean finally answered the Republicans who have been twisting his words on healthcare, specifically John McCain. He accused McCain of using his words for something that he has no intention of endorsing.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh called for war with Iran, but Rush doesn’t want to use ground troops but massive bombing raids. Limbaugh said, “The only way to stop them is to destroy the Iranian regime, the mullahs, and that can only be accomplished through war.”
The ranking Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Jim Inhofe, made a scathingly embarrassing appearance in Copenhagen. While the senator didn’t have any meetings scheduled in Copenhagen, he managed to put together an impromptu press conference, during which he took it upon himself to announce that “global warming was a hoax perpetrated on the world by the UN” and sold to Americans “by the Hollywood elite.”
Tonight on FNC’s The O’Reilly Factor, Laura Ingraham called out host Bill O’Reilly for gushing over Michelle Obama, and when she asked Bill-O if he ate an acorn cookie at the White House, O’Reilly got annoyed and called her a blind ideologue and Kool-Aid drinker who won’t admit when someone is nice to her.
On the Senate floor today, Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) sent Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) a strong message today when as acting president he denied Lieberman’s request for more time to speak. The message was simple. If Lieberman is going to destroy healthcare reform, then he shouldn’t count on getting any future help from Democrats.
Fox News broke out the editing machine again today, and this time the victim was Howard Dean. On Fox and Friends they played video of Dean saying, “We are now committed to a solution using the private insurance companies.” FNC turned Dean into a tea bagger by editing any praise for the bill and criticism of insurance company CEOs.
Sarah Palin, her husband Todd and daughter Piper and son Trig left the rest of the family in Wasilla or Palmer or who knows where and took off for HI for a little R and R, where she sported her John McCain visor, but Sister Sarah had crossed out McCain’s name with black marker. Goin’ Rogue!
On his MSNBC program Countdown, host Keith Olbermann delivered a special comment about the compromise healthcare reform bill. Olbermann said, “The Senate bill with mandate must be defeated, if not in the Senate then in the House.” If the bill passes, Olbermann called on his viewers to not buy insurance.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh called people who support healthcare reform mentally disturbed. Citing a poll, where 51% of people supported government intervention in healthcare, Limbaugh said, “51% of the people in this poll are absolutely mentally disturbed.” According to Rush it is crazy to support healthcare reform.
On his radio show today Glenn Beck wove a new conspiracy theory into his latest attack on healthcare reform, and just for kicks added some sexism. Beck said that labor unions and Soros Foundation are behind healthcare reform. He added healthcare reform is like asking a crazy woman to marry you, because chicks never change.
On the House floor Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) spoke out about the House’s decision to tie an extension in unemployment benefits to $130 billion in additional war funding, “What a cruel choice Congress is forcing on people out of work. Put your sons and daughters on the firing line and we will pay you for being in the unemployment line.”
In a move fit for the Populist Princess of the Joe Six Packs and Holly Hairdressers of Real Murkica, Palin dragged Rhonda Halliday of Images Hair Studio and Day Spa, a local hairdresser, away from her son’s dentist appointment on a Wednesday morning in Salt Lake City, Utah for an emergency hair session, where Palin’s appreciation was shown by stiffing her on the bill.
The old right wing knows how to play the left’s justified concern over justice, truth and transparency to a t! Oh, I’m sure the unplanned delay of the announcement wasn’t politically motivated. LOL. I mean, just because everything else in the Bush Justice Dept was is no reason to think….Sure, many of the same people who were illegally appointed under Bush are still in the DoJ. Olbermann said, “There is no liberal media. The media which is after all owned by corporations naturally leans to the right.”
On his Fox News program tonight, Glenn Beck gave another fractured history lesson as he compared climate change deniers to Galileo. Beck said, “The climate cult is just as much of a state sponsored religion now as the actual state sponsored religion was back in the Dark Ages.”
During one of his Obama is delusional rants on his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh let his racism slip out again. This time his target was Indians. Limbaugh said, “I don’t know if he really believes it, but if he does, we in heap big doo doo, a little Indian lingo there.”This comes from the same guy who once said that Indians should stop complaining, because they have casinos.
Now that the public option has been removed from the Senate healthcare reform bill, Sen. Joe Lieberman has turned his attention to getting the Medicare buy in out of the bill. On CBS News’ Face The Nation, he said, “You got to take out the Medicare buy-in. You got to forget about the public option.”
Future 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney was on NBC’s Meet The Press today, where he blamed the excesses of government for the budget deficit, and overpaid government workers. Specifically, Romney said, “Average government workers, are now making $30,000 a year more than the average private sector worker.”
While accepting the Nobel Peace Prize, President Barack Obama gave a powerful and historical lecture in Oslo, Norway. He was able to justify how a leader of a free nation could be involved in two wars, escalate troops by thousands and still be able to rightfully accept the Nobel Peace Prize. It was sheer genius and Obama at his best.
On Friday’s O’Reilly Factor guest host Laura Ingrham was running through the conservative reaction to Obama’s Nobel speech, which most conservatives praised, except for Sarah Palin who tried to take credit for the speech by saying, “I thumbed through my book this morning to say wow, that really sounded familiar.”
As both Sarah Palin’s paranoia and enemies list continue to grow, her attorney has come forward and demonstrated how he parsed statements to imply the false impression that Palin was exonerated of all the ethics charges against her.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh claimed that if Tiger Woods visited prostitutes, he fulfilled a Democratic requirement for election to high office. Limbaugh said, “This means that Tiger has now completed a resume requirement for election to high office as a Democrat…clearly this is Clintonesque.”
First, the fact that he couldn’t take losing to Ned Lamont in the Democratic Primary for his Senate seat in his last election (2006), so HE started HIS OWN PARTY, Connecticut for Lieberman then he campaigned for John McCain, and now his criticism has helped derail the public option, because at the end of the day it is all about Joe Lieberman.
On Fox and Friends this morning Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson, along with guest Michele Malkin freaked out because the White House served acorn shaped cookies at their holiday party. Malkin said, “This is either a very tasteless joke or just completely tone deaf.” Somehow the cookies apparently contain a political message.
Jon Stewart ripped into Fox News for posting a graphic in response to the hacked emails of climate change scientists about their use of statistics in support of global warming. Stewart seized on the idea that Fox News and Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson might not be as stupid as she seems on the air.
Evil President Obama is taking on the stinking cesspool of the Bush Department of Justice by shining some light on the problem in the form of the President’s Initiative on Transparency and Open Government. While this initiative applies to all branches of the Obama administration, its impact on the DoJ should be a huge relief to Americans.

Tonight on the Best Persons segment of MSNBC program Countdown host Keith Olbermann took a little time to compliment the American people for not buying tickets to Glenn Beck’s half live half movie performance of his book The Christmas Sweater. Olbermann pointed out that only 64 people combined bought tickets in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

The problem is that they only showed the dig at Al Gore and left out the rest of the segment in which Stewart says that the emails aren’t very sensational.
The Palinapooloza Book Tour jumped the shark today, when an internal memo of her demands for her book-signing appearance at the Mall of America was been released to the AP by accident. We are told we must address her by “Governorâ€, in English only, and that no foreign press will be allowed to question the Queen.
Tonight, Chris Matthews opened up his MSNBC program Hardball with an apology for his comment that Obama went into the enemy camp when he spoke at West Point last night. Matthews said, “I used the wrong words and worse than that, I said something that was just not right, for that I deeply apologize.”
On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh warped Chris Matthews’ statement that Obama went to the enemy camp last night, by proclaiming that West Point is not the enemy camp, but that MSNBC and the White House are the real enemies of America. Apparently, Chris Matthews now speaks for the entire Left.
On his radio show today Glenn Beck brought back his Nazi fetish this time while talking about Obama’s decision to send more troops to Afghanistan. Beck said, “If we would have said, we are going to go into Normandy, then we are going train those French, Hitler would have laughed.”
Whether you love him or hate him, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has a habit of planting his foot firmly in his mouth, which he did again tonight during MSNBC’s coverage of President Obama’s speech on Afghanistan when he claimed that by giving a speech at West Point, Obama had ventured into an enemy camp.
During his speech tonight announcing that 30,000 more troops will be sent to Afghanistan, President Barack Obama took aim at a popular criticism from the Left that Afghanistan is another Vietnam. Obama said, “I believe this argument depends upon a false reading of history.”
Google has compiled a list of the most searched terms in various categories for 2009, and at the top of the list for U.S. senators is the late Ted Kennedy. The only Republican to appear on the top 10 list is Chuck Grassley at number nine. On any list, Rush Limbaugh, not Glenn Beck, was the highest ranking conservative.
On his MSNBC program Countdown tonight, host Keith Olbermann delivered a brutal critique against President Obama’s decision to send more troops to Afghanistan. Donny Deutsch was on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning, and in response to a new poll that found that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are the most influential conservatives in America, he said, “These are all entertainers. They’re circus acts.” Deutsch was asked about Lou Dobbs, and he said Dobbs is a racist.
Ben Stein went on Fox News recently to rail against the supposed socialism of the Obama administration. Stein claimed that the healthcare crisis and climate changes are hoaxes carried out by the Obama administration in order to allow the country to be turned into a socialist paradise.
On Fox News Sunday today, Howard Dean went head to head with Mike Huckabee on the public option. When Huckabee said that the public option would put the private sector out of business, Dean said, “There’s not going to, nobody’s going to put the private sector out of business. That doesn’t happen even in places like Germany or France or Britain.”
Some on the left have decided to show their depth by criticizing President Obama’s first year in office. They write stories about Obama’s Katrina or Obama’s Vietnam. Even though Obama has had a brilliant first year, they still aren’t satisfied. How much do they want from a man who has been in office for less than a year?
Gone are the days of smoky newsrooms and journalists that are committed to facts. They have been replaced by 24 hour cable news networks and right wing infotainers, who give partial treatment to GOP talking points and illogical rhetoric. The result of this is that journalism being undermined by right wing media bias.
Recently I was doing some research on black history and I ran across an article relating to politics. It stated in the article that Dr Martin Luther King was a Republican. I have often wondered since I found this out if Dr King was alive today, knowing what the Republican Party stands for, would he still be a Republican?

Even though the mainstream media loves to talk about the toll that the healthcare debate is taking on the Democratic Party, there has been a large positive upside for the Democrats. The healthcare debate has re energized progressives and fueled a surge in Democratic fund raising. Democrats are currently out raising Republicans at a 3 to 1 pace ahead of the 2010 elections.
President Barack Obama became only the fourth president today to engage in the tradition of the presidential turkey pardon. The pardoning of the turkey given to the President of the United States of America is a fairly modern tradition. Contrary to popular myth, it wasn’t Harry Truman or Abe Lincoln who pardoned the first turkey. It was George H.W. Bush in 1989.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck began to lay the groundwork for his big political movement of 2010, which includes a march on Washington, D.C. on the anniversary of the civil rights march, by comparing himself to Martin Luther King. Beck also implied that the Democrats opposed the civil rights movement.
A recent poll in Minnesota by St. Cloud University showed Governor Tim Pawlenty coming in 10 points behind President Obama if Pawlenty were to run against Obama in 2012. St. Cloud is located in the center of Minnesota, part of the extremely conservative 6th district which elected notorious Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to office not once but twice.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh accused President Barack Obama of trying to hijack Thanksgiving week by holding a state dinner two days before the holiday. Limbaugh asked, “Has any president ever tried to hijack Thanksgiving week with a state dinner two days before Thanksgiving?”
Sarah Palin appeared at Fort Bragg today, promoting her book, “Going Rogue” to the military. Palin had promised to limit herself to signing books, no politicizing her visit, amidst general concerns that her signing would violate Federal Law (Titles 10, 2, and 18, United States Code), Department of Defense (DOD) Directives, and specific military regulations strictly limit a military active duty person’s participation in partisan political activities.
Sarah Palin has been all over the media since her book came out, but the one network that she hasn’t been on is CBS. Palin’s reps have turned down requests from Katie Couric, and the former Alaska governor is still harboring a grudge against late night host David Letterman. Palin has made it clear that she is open to all requests, except CBS.
On their respective radio shows today Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh went on the attack against Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) because she voted for advancing the healthcare debate forward in the Senate. Instead of criticizing her position on the bill, both Beck and Limbaugh took the lowest possible road by calling a female US senator a prostitute.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) was on NBC’s Meet The Press today, where he not only promised to filibuster the public option, but also continued to lie about the public plan. Lieberman said that the public option would not give a single poor person health insurance, and he stuck to his bogus claim that the public option would increase the deficit.
I have been following the news all weekend and I think the Republican Party has a real problem on their hands. I am reminded about the saying “You created this monster now do something about it” All these left wing nut cases are about to be too much. I am sure that when Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and the Republican Party psyched these people up with their distortions and lies they had no idea that these narrow minded bigoted people would follow them to the extreme that they have.
Several GOP and the Right Wing Conservatives are on a campaign to “dumb down” Americans. They challenge every bill and every policy even when it is clearly for the good of the people they represent. The right wing’s greatest campaign will not be in 2010 or 2012. It is happening today as they have launched an assault on America’s collective intelligence.
Fox News has become infamous for their habit of distorting and editing video to make their ideological point, but we should not forget to mention the Fox News graphics department, who today managed to make the Freudian slip of labeling Sen. Joe Lieberman as the Republican from Connecticut. This is the same department that once labeled Max Baucus a Republican and Mark Sanford a Democrat.
One thing Palin’s ghost-written hagiography has made clear is that Palin is constantly dabbling in Christian political porn; her tantalizing naughtiness always right out there for the repressed, as she dangles her poison apple in phrase, deed, and clothing.
Sarah Palin was on FNC’s Hannity tonight, where things took an interesting turn when she gave her opinion on the Ft. Hood shootings. Palin stated that the shootings were an act of terrorism, and she claimed that it could have been prevented if the military would have engaged in racial profiling.
There is a ton of misinformation out there about the healthcare bills working their way through Congress, but here is a something that is actually in the bill. It would require nutrition labels on fast food, like Big Macs, and nutrition information to be posted about the contents of vending machines.
In an interview with Newsmax, Sarah Palin floated Fox News host Glenn Beck’s name as her running mate for 2012. Palin said, “But Glenn Beck I have great respect for. He’s a hoot. He gets his message across in such a clever way.” Apparently, Palin’s qualifications for a running mate include that they be a “hoot.”

On Fox News Radio’s Brian and The Judge show, Judge Andrew Napolitano unloaded with both barrels on Sarah Palin. Napolitano said, “I just don’t think she possess the mental capacity to be the President of the United States. She’s a goofball.”
Former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs was on the Today show this morning talking about the potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates. When it came to Sarah Palin, Dobbs said, “Would I consider voting her? Frankly based on what I have seen, personally no.” Things are looking bad for Sarah, when even Lou Dobbs says no thanks.
During a report on the NBC Nightly News, Andrea Mitchell dropped an interesting little nugget about Sarah Palin’s new book. According to her adviser, Nicolle Wallace, Sarah Palin never took notes on their conversations, or called her to fact check anything. Wallace called the conversations in the book fabrications.
On FNC program tonight Glenn Beck compared healthcare reform to the statutory rape committed by Roman Polanski. Beck said, “We’re the young girl saying no, no help me, and the government is Roman Polanski.” I think the victims of rape would disagree with Beck that passing a healthcare reform bill is just like being raped.

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, host Joe Scarborough jumped on the fear mongering bandwagon over trying detainees in the United States. Scarborough claimed that, “This has never happened before. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton was on NBC’s Meet The Press today. At the end of the interview she was asked about Sarah Palin’s comment in her book about the possibility of sitting down for a cup of coffee with Clinton. She said, “I’m ready to have a cup of coffee. Maybe I can make a case on some of the issues that we disagree on.”
Glenn Beck was on FNC’s The O’Reilly Factor on Friday, where he continued to spread lies and falsehoods about the healthcare reform bill. Beck is still claiming that under the bill, people who don’t buy insurance will face jail time. This is not true. The penalty for not buying insurance is an additional tax. No one will go to jail.
The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart perfectly summed up the lack of logic behind Lou Dobbs’ stated reason for resigning when he said, “So in order to positively contribute to a better understanding of the issues of our day, you must leave your nightly television show devoted to understanding the issues of our day.” Check out the video.
A grumpy Sarah Palin posted a note on her Facebook page which claims that the AP’s report on the contents on the book is erroneous. It doesn’t seem to matter to her that the AP has actually read the book, because she said, “And as is expected, the AP and a number of subsequent media outlets are erroneously reporting the contents of the book.”
As dramatic as Lou Dobbs’ immediate resignation was on CNN last night, the whole story of the deteriorated Dobbs/CNN relationship is starting to emerge today. Dobbs was told by CNN to do an objective newscast, or he could leave CNN. In short Dobbs could either clean up his act or hit the road. He chose to leave.
