Rush Limbaugh Slaps Down another House Republican

Today Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) raised the ire of Rush Limbaugh by suggesting that there was room for Colin Powell and Rush Limbaugh in the GOP. He said Colin Powell is a better Republican than Rush, which sent Rush on a tirade against Colin Powell. How long before Price apologizes?

Here is Rep. Price talking to Joe Scarborough:

Here is Limbaugh’s response courtesy of Think Progress:

Rush said, “How in the hell can you say that Dick Cheney is worse for the Republican Party than Colin Powell? It was Colin Powell who endorsed Barack Obama after the Republican Party gave Colin Powell the exact kind of nominee he claims to want. He also defended his BFF, Dick Cheney, “The Vice President gets results! Do you not see what Dick Cheney was able to pull off last week? You basically have the Bush policy on Gitmo and interrogations intact.”

Rep. Price’s crime in Rush’s eyes was suggesting that the Republican Party is big enough to hold two different points of view. The question now becomes how long will it take for Price to apologize to Limbaugh? There is no way that he can beat Michael Steele’s record, and since he hasn’t apologized yet, I think a place in the top 5 is out of the question.

On the topic of GITMO and interrogations, Obama’s GITMO and interrogation policies are not the same as Bush’s. This is another Limbaugh lie. President Bush did not have a plan to close GITMO. President Bush did not give the detainees legal rights. The policies aren’t the same. In fact, Obama’s changes are one of the things that Cheney is complaining about. Somebody needs to stand up to Rush Limbaugh besides Colin Powell, but don’t be surprised if it isn’t any Republican in Congress who is trying to keep their job.
