Limbaugh said that Stewart is a sell out for using the military as healthcare example, because liberals like Stewart hate the military. Ugh, so now Rush is going after Jon Stewart.

According to an analysis done by The New York Observer, ever since Lou Dobbs started discussing President Obama’s birth certificate on his CNN program, his ratings have taken a nosedive. Dobbs has lost 15% of his total viewers, and 27% of viewers in the 25-54 demographic.
On his radio show today Lou Dobbs got it all wrong when he praised Jon Stewart of The Daily Show for accurately reporting his Obama citizenship comments. According to Broadcast and Cable media giant Clear Channel has already passed on the chance to give former Alaska governor Sarah Palin her own radio show. Clear Channel turned her down because they weren’t sure that she could handle talking for 15 live hours a week. Palin might not find as many takers for her services as she thought.
After MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow mocked CNN’s Lou Dobbs for calling her the, “tea bagger queen” yesterday on her show, Dobbs fired back today on his show. He referred to Maddow as, “a lunatic among the lily livered, limp minded, lefty lemmings.” Dobbs, who has “questions” about Obama’s citizenship, thinks Maddow is mentally unstable. That’s a laugh.
Tuesday’s episode of MSNBC’s the Ed Show included a segment on the return of Michael Vick to football. PETA, the animal rights extremist group is demanding that Vick undergo a brain scan first. The scan is to determine to the satisfaction of PETA that he is sufficiently rehabilitated. Do not support PETA’s demand for a brain scan of Michael Vick.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck stood by his claim that President Barack Obama is a racist, who has problems with white people. Beck said, “I deem him a racist based on really his own standard of racism.” So a man that is half white has racial issues with white people. This makes absolutely no sense.
On his radio show today Lou Dobbs took shots at both FNC’s Gerald Rivera and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow for disproving his birther claims. Dobbs called Rivera, “severely intellectually challenged,” and Maddow a leftist lady “tea bagging queen who twisted his words.” He also called her a liar. Somehow, I don’t think Maddow is much into tea bagging.
Pat Buchanan figured it was just another day on “Hardball†with Chris Matthews, defending the brilliance and relevance of the apple of his eye…oops, I mean, the apple of his party, Sarah Palin. But this particular time Pat opened his mouth, Freud reared his mind over tongue theory, and now the ball is a rollin’.
Today on his radio show Rush Limbaugh, went into full let’s scare some old people about healthcare mode, as he told his elderly listeners that their medical costs were too high. “Limbaugh said people at a certain age with certain diseases will be deemed not worth the investment…” He laid out his vision of stopping healthcare by mobilizing the elderly against it.
Glenn Beck showed up on FNC’s Fox and Friends today to declare that President Barack Obama is a guy who has exposed himself as a guy who has a deep seated hatred for white people and white culture. Beck said, “I am not saying he doesn’t like white people…I believe this guy is a racist.” In the end, this is just more race based politics from Beck, FNC, and the GOP.
I don’t know about you, but I’m just sittin’ here imagining the horrors that will be bestowed upon this great nation when empathy is brought to the bench. And not just empathy, my fellow real Americans, but empathy with a point of view, other than rich white man (or Other masquerading as such).

On his FNC program The O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly debunked CNN’s Lou Dobbs birther talk about Barack Obama, but argued that Dobbs should not be fired. First Coulter and now O’Reilly, the Republican is media is running full sprint away from the birthers.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor today to make a statement that even by his lofty standards was out there. Inhofe claimed that using oil and gasoline doesn’t create pollution. The senator said, “Their argument there is “Well, we don’t want to use oil and gas because we think it pollutes” — which it doesn’t.” I guess Exxon bought his common sense along with his vote.
Ann Coulter was recently on FNC’s Geraldo at Large where she said that Lou Dobbs is wrong about President Obama’s citizenship. “I do want to point out that every conservative publication dealt with this, and said that there was nothing to this.” Coulter called the birthers just a few cranks out there. Strange days have come indeed.
Today on his radio show Glenn Beck went on a full blown paranoia bender by claiming that ACORN and Barack Obama are coming to silence him. Beck said, “I fear that there will come a time when I cannot say things that I am currently saying. I fear that it will come to television and to radio, and I will stop saying these things. “

On CNN’s Reliable Sources, host Howard Kurtz slammed the recent coverage of the birthers and Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Kurtz specifically pointed to his network’s own Lou Dobbs. Kurtz compared Dobbs’ coverage to giving air time to flat earth people, and he called the coverage irresponsible and ludicrous.
Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) was on ABC’s This Week program today when he made the claim that the Democrats 60 Senate votes is not enough to get healthcare reform passed. Conrad said that it is not possible for the Democrats to pass this bill for themselves, but then he added what is like the real reason. It would be more desirable to pass a bill with GOP support.
Yesterday, Rep. Michele Bachmann was trying to explain to the group The Conservative Women’s Network the dangers of healthcare reform, but she made public healthcare sound pretty good. She argued that the government can provide health insurance that is nearly 30%-40% cheaper and, “It will probably offer equal or better benefits than any plan, but cheaper.”
The president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, J. Richard Cohen wrote a letter to CNN president Jonathon Klein calling for Lou Dobbs to be taken of the air for spreading racist conspiracy theories about Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Cohen wrote, “Respectable news organizations should not employ reporters willing to peddle racist conspiracy theories and false propaganda.”
On his FNC show yesterday, Glenn Beck made the claim that Obama’s goal is to create a new America to settle old racial scores. Beck focused on the Office of Minority Health. He said, “Let’s say minorities eat more Doritos, so it there’s more heart disease. Wouldn’t this lead to more lawsuits and litigation against Doritos?” Beck is worried about Doritos instead of healthcare, enough said.
Right wing talk show host G. Gordon Liddy was on Hardball today claiming that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Liddy said that Obama’s parents intentionally posted a false birth announcement in the Hawaii newspaper, and that Obama is an illegal alien. Host Chris Matthews smashed through this crack pot theory. On his radio show today Glenn Beck launched into a full blown defense of the healthcare industry, by calling COBRA the healthcare safety net. Beck called the middle class college graduate from Maryland that President Obama referred to in his remarks last night cheap and stupid for not having COBRA. Beck has no idea how expensive COBRA coverage is.
On his Fox News Channel program today, Glenn Beck lamented the defeat of an amendment that would have allowed people with concealed carry gun permits to carry their guns across state lines. Beck went into his love of guns and said, “I went to the movie this weekend with a gun. And surprise, surprise, I didn’t kill anybody!”
Hardball host Chris Matthews was on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports where he brought up an interesting point about the GOP’s motivation behind their pushing of the conspiracy theory that Obama isn’t a citizen. Matthews said that the GOP is using an old nasty trick to de-Americanize a guy with a different name.
On Morning Joe today, Joe Scarborough hammered the birthers. Scarborough said, “Instead of trying to figure out what’s happening to their country, the terrible things that are happening economically to their country, they embrace conspiracy theories, and they make themselves look like cartoon characters.”
On MSNBC’s Hardball tonight, host Chris Matthews faced off with GOP Rep. John Campbell (R-CA) that would require future presidential candidates to submit a birth certificate. Matthews asked Campbell “Was he born in this country?” Campbell answered, “Yes, I believe so.” Even a birther believes that Obama is really a citizen.

On Fox News yesterday, guest Lt. Col. Ralph Peters labeled Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl, “an apparent deserter.” He later said that the Taliban should kill Bergdahl, “If he walked away from his post and his buddies in wartime, I don’t care how hard it sounds, as far as I’m concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills.”
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell was NBC’s Meet The Press today, where he argued that their aren’t really 47 million Americans without healthcare. McConnell said that the uninsured can always go to the emergency room for healthcare. What he ignores is that people without health insurance don’t get the same quality of care as those who do.
MSNBC’s Pat Buchanan was on The McLaughlin Group where he continued to attack Sonia Sotomayor. Buchanan wondered why she didn’t defend the wise Latina comment. He also said that Sotomayor was picked because, “she is a passionate Latino woman who is a liberal.” The racism continues from Uncle Pat.
On Friday a significant decision was handed down regarding the personal accountability of a member of the Bush administration for torture. A U.S. District Court judge ruled that John Yoo could be held accountable in a civil law suit for his role in drafting the Bush era policy on torture.
Republicans love to talk about what they see as liberal bias on CNN, but today on the program Your Money, the network showed a flow chart which came straight from Republican Party, and had Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) on to explain it, completely unopposed and unquestioned. Uh CNN, your bias is showing.
If the law says such actions, like assisted suicide, are wrong, why? Is there truly a need to require someone to keep living in agony? Is there truly a need to require the families of those who are terminal to watch them fall into oblivion of Alzheimer’s final days, of cancer’s final weeks of morphine induced stupors, of chemotherapy’s cadaverous preludes?
President Obama used his weekly radio address to continue to push, prod, and tug Congress towards passing healthcare reform. He got on his bully pulpit and addressed all of the critics of his plan. Obama said, “I don’t believe that government can or should run health care. But I also don’t think insurance companies should have free reign to do as they please.”
President Barack Obama and his 2008 election opponent Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) both released statements on the death of Walter Cronkite. McCain expressed his personal sadness, while Obama said, “This country has lost an icon and a dear friend, and he will be truly missed.”

On his radio show today, Glenn Beck argued that democracy does not work because voters have the ability to directly elect the president. Beck said, “This direct vote just put Barack Obama into office. Congratulations on that direct vote.” The problem is that the United States does not directly elect the president, and the system isn’t a direct democracy.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) took a break today from fear mongering about the 2010 Census to fear monger about healthcare reform. On Dennis Miller’s radio show today, she said, “On the 16th page, it says whatever health care you have now, it’s going to be gone within five years.” However, this is never mentioned on page 16, or anywhere else.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh declared that Sonia Sotomayor butchers the English language more than George W. Bush if he got drunk again, but while criticizing Sotomayor, Limbaugh confused the terms providence and provenance, which made him look like a total fool. Check out the audio.
Republican Gov. Rick Perry of Texas has gone from pondering his state’s departure from the union because of the federal stimulus package to asking for his cut of the cash. Perry has the federal government for a $170 million loan in order for the state to continue playing unemployment benefits.
Ed Schultz responded to Rush Limbaugh’s attack on him today by challenging the right wing talk show host to come on his MSNBC show and debate him about anything. Schultz said, “Your audience hates me. They would love to see you stick it to me, but you won’t do it, because you’re a coward Rush.”
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh went after MSNBC’s Ed Schultz for showing his support of Sonia Sotomayor. Limbaugh called Schultz’s The Ed Show, “a show named after a horse.” He also said, “I think they brought the horse out of retirement to host it.” Do we really want to make this about looks, Rush?
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck completely blew up at a caller, who dared to suggest that America needs healthcare reform. When the caller asked Beck what he would do about healthcare, and then mentioned the bailouts, Beck completely lost his mind. Check out the audio.
Yesterday on The Dennis Miller Show, The Weekly Standard editor, and FNC contributor, Bill Kristol urged Republicans to follow Sarah Palin’s lead and co-opt the term progressive from Democrats. Kristol said, “Conservatives should not give up the notion that they’re the progressive force now in American politics.” Is the GOP so empty that they now have to steal from Democrats?
Comedian Bill Maher was on MSNBC’s Hardball tonight, where he offered his unique take on the Sonia Sotomayor hearings, “All these white people, especially white men who are so incensed about reverse racism and Sotomayor because the problem for too long is Puerto Rican women have had their boot on the neck of white men.” Check out the video.

Today in her Washington Post op-ed she came out against President Obama’s cap and trade program, but it was just last October at the vice presidential debate when Sarah Palin claimed to be for cap and trade.
Up and down the radio dial today, right wing talkers are into full panic mode over the Senate confirmation hearing of Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Rush Limbaugh claimed that he had to stop watching because she was “scary.” Michael Savage called her a, “windbag liar,” while Dennis Miller went for the cheap joke and labeled her, “Roseanne Barrio.”
Last night Karl Rove was on FNC’s The O’Reilly Factor where he appears to have confirmed that the Bush administration routinely hid information from Congress, because they believed that the legislative branch could not be trusted. Rove stated that it is dangerous to give Congress any information. This attitude sums up the secrecy of the Bush White House.
Well, what do you know? After a few months spent watching every Republican imaginable verbally thrashing the Speaker of the House for stating that the CIA had misled Congress, it seems that she was right., and I don’t believe I’ve heard any apologies from Republicans.

Wouldn’t it be easier to pass legislation banning the selling of gasoline to Iran?
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh declared that Sonia Sotomayor’s wise Latina comment was worse than George Allen’s macaca comment. Limbaugh said, Sotomayor’s comments are much worse than macaca, and they are frequent, and they are long held.” The only problem with Rush’s comparison is that wise Latina isn’t a racial slur.
Leave it to former Nixon speechwriter Pat Buchanan to come up with the most extreme solution for the Palin’s Levi Johnston problem. On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Buchanan said, “Todd Palin ought to take Levi down to the creek and hold his head under the water until the thrashing stops.” Pat was joking, sort of.
Today on Meet the Press Sen. John McCain officially abandoned his call for regime change in Iran. Instead McCain pointed out there is now an internal movement in Iran. He said, “I believe that in Iran, something is afoot that can’t be stopped.” This is a big shift from last month when McCain was on Fox News calling for US action towards Iran.
Republican Senators hit the Sunday news show airwaves today to defend former Vice President Dick Cheney and the secret CIA domestic spying program. Senators Judd Gregg, Lamar Alexander, John Kyl, and John Cornyn all defended Cheney in some way, and they accused the Democrats of trying to use the story to provide political cover for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and President Obama.
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was on Meet the Press today, and when the topic of his 2008 running mate Sarah Palin’s resignation as Alaska governor came up. McCain defended Palin, and claimed that she didn’t quit. He said, “Oh, I don’t think she quit. I think she changed her priorities.” He also said that Palin didn’t break a promise to her supporters by resigning.
On FNC’s Fox News Watch today, the network did an about face on the misleading photo of President Obama supposedly looking at a teenage girl’s backside at the G-8. Fox News now blames Matt Drudge and The Drudge Report for the whole mess, while they ignored the role of Sean Hannity among others in promoting a smear about Obama.
With the revelation that the CIA’s domestic spying program is bigger than we ever thought, it is clear that there are a lot of very busy people, poking around in our daily business. We can only hope that not only are there many many people watching us, but that some of them might actually be watching the bad guys, the dangerous terrorists.
President Obama is in Rome for an historic meeting with Pope Benedict XVI, and the President is doing what any sane, rational leader should do. He is open to hearing those he disagrees with. He is not running a theocracy. He knows what he stands for, but is willing to find a common thread of agreement. I dig.
Ann Coulter was on Glenn Beck’s Fox News today defending Sarah Palin, who she said, “crystal clear and well spoken” in her press conference. Coulter also called Palin clever and well spoken. Was there some sort of hidden meaning in Palin’s press conference that only Coulter understood? Palin was so clear that most people still can’t figure out that press conference.
On her radio show today, Tammy Bruce claimed that the bogus photo of Barack Obama looking at a teenage girl’s backside is an exposure of Barack Obama’s nature. She said, “Let me tell you another president who will never be caught ogling someone’s ass, President Palin.” She also compared Obama to Bill Clinton.
Apparently Greta Van Susteren didn’t get the memo about how everyone at Fox News is supposed to be criticizing Barack Obama for the photo that supposedly shows the President checking out a young lady’s backside. Van Susteren went on her show and debunked the photo by showing the video of the event. This hasn’t stopped FNC from continuing the attack.
Audra Shay, favored to become Leader of Young Republicans, has been accused (by scary political attackers!!!) of condoning racism on her Facebook page…. Shay found herself in the middle of a publicized fray last week, which was the beginning of the now infamous “Coons†Controversy. With the election looming this weekend, the world wonders….Can someone who condones racism (aka, a racist…but shhhh) be elected as the Leader of the Young Republicans?
Fox News has hopped on the latest right wing conspiracy theory that congressional districts that supported Barack Obama are getting more federal stimulus money that those that supported McCain. Fox News’ Stuart Varney opened his piece with, “It’s not who you know, but who you voted for…” Of course, FNC ignored the obvious explanation for the imbalance.
On MSNBC this afternoon, Firedoglake’s Jane Hamsher, and Townhall’s Jillian Bandes were engaged in the standard lefty/righty blogger cable news debate on healthcare, when the discussion turned to healthcare as a basic human right like food is Bandes asked, “Should food be a basic human right?” Well yes it should be, and is a basic human right.
Ever since her resignation announcement, soon to be former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been waxing philosophically on her Twitter account, where today’s attempt at depth was a quote that she attributed to Plato, only it was never uttered by Plato, but instead comes from 1670 gentleman’s etiquette guide. Tuesday’s show had 864,000 total viewers which is almost 120,000 more than host Ed Schultz’s previous high.
In an interview with Time magazine, Sarah Palin tried to differentiate her whining about media coverage as different from what she accused Hillary Clinton of doing during the 2008 campaign. Palin said, “But freedom of speech and that invitation to constructively criticize a public servant is a lot different than the allowance to lie…” In summary, it is fine to whine as long as Palin is doing the whining.
In an interview with Esquire Magazine Jeb Bush claimed that Barack Obama is not more popular than his brother former president George W. Bush. Jeb said, “First of all, who cares? His popularity is no greater — in fact it’s less — than what my brother’s was during the beginning of his tenure.” Actually, Obama is more popular than Bush.
Last night on his FNC show The O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly claimed that Michael Jackson wasn’t an African American icon because he bleached his skin and has white children. O’Reilly asked, “If he is such a black American icon, why did he have his kids with white men?”
On MSNBC’s The Ed Show tonight Donny Deutsch was supposed to be on to talk about the future sales of Michael Jackson’s music, but that was tossed aside as, Deutsch said, “I think as a country we have lost our minds a little bit…People who are crying in the streets who don’t know him, they need to maybe get a little bit of a life.” Check out the video.

It seems that there might actually be a method to Rep. Michele Bachmann’s Census fear mongering madness. Since Bachmann derives most of her reelection campaign funds from outside of her district, and she is struggling to raise cash, could it be that Bachmann is using Census paranoia to refill her campaign coffers for her reelection bid in 2010?
Apparently feeling upstaged by Sarah Palin’s resignation, Joe the Plumber jumped back into the news today by expressing his views on immigrants and immigration. He said that as a matter of national security the United States should, “Get them the hell out of our damn country and close the borders down.”
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, co-host Mika Brzezinski rushed to the defense of Sarah Palin while criticizing the “mainstream media” for not understanding that Palin represents the views of real Americans and not the liberal elite who live in cities. So I guess the real Americans are 30%-40% who approve of Palin, and the millions who voted for Obama aren’t?
I believe that Dick Cheney is a rapidly metastasizing cancer upon the body politic. President Obama has been very gracious — perhaps too gracious regarding the matter of that old Dick. Mr. Cheney is unrepentant regarding the issues of torture and wars of choice, and utterly convinced of the rightness of his actions. He thinks Mr. Obama is weak, effete, an “elite”. At the bottom of his heart there is only fear.
Never content to leave well enough alone, Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page to blame the mainstream and Washington media for the criticism that she has gotten for resigning. Palin also stated that the media is holding her to a different standard than other politicians.
On ABC’s This Week program today, conservative columnist George Will had some harsh criticism for Sarah Palin’s decision to resign from her position as Alaska governor on Friday. Will said, “Still, she made a contract with them to serve out her term. And she said, in her own words, she now is a quitter.”
On Fox News Sunday this morning, Weekly Standard editor, and FNC contributor, Bill Kristol predicted Sarah Palin’s path to the White House in 2012. He predicted that Palin would become a leader of conservatives, the leader of the GOP, and then president, just like Obama did. According to Kristol, Palin is just like Obama.
The never ending war of words between former Sec. of State Colin Powell and talk show host Rush Limbaugh escalated today to include Obama Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Powell said of Limbaugh’s claims of reverse racism that it was, “nonsense.”Powell said that the GOP has a race problem.

The bizarre story of Sarah Palin’s resignation continues to grow as MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is reporting that people close to Sarah Palin have told her that Palin is completely fed up with politics, and is leaving political life for good. If you believe that Sarah Palin is really going to leave national politics for good, I have a bridge to sell you.
The only true surprise in Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s announcement that she will resign from office in three weeks is that it happened right now, but a look below the surface, shows that Palin has been declining in popularity in Alaska, while she is focusing more of her attention towards running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.
