On FNC’s Your World with Neil Cavuto, Chuck Norris launched into a doozy of a conspiracy theory about healthcare reform. Norris said, “If this thing passes the government will have the right to come into our home, and regulate how we raise our children.” To his credit, host Neil Cavuto wasn’t buying any of Walker: Texas Nutjob’s theories.
Glenn Beck returned to his radio show today, and he moved beyond his usual calls for revolution. Beck has now deemed the Republican Party a lost cause that can’t be changed, and he predicted that in one year from now there will be a third party. He said, “I think the best way to get the Republicans to change is to abandon them.”
Is Jon Stewart the only man on television willing to hold Fox News accountable? Tonight on The Daily Show, Stewart called out FNC’s Sean Hannity for not only inflating the attendance number from Michele Bachmann’s healthcare protest, but also for trying to pass off footage from the 9/12 protest as evidence of the crowd size. On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh tried to rally the obese against healthcare reform by claiming that if the overweight don’t lose weight, the bill will send them to reeducation camps. Limbaugh said that the government could, “send you off to some reeducation camp if you don’t lose weight.”
At the memorial service for the victims of last week’s shooting at Ft. Hood, TX, President Obama not only paid tribute to the fallen, but also placed their service to the country in the context of history. Obama said, “The stories of those at Fort Hood reaffirm the core values that we are fighting for, and the strength that we must draw upon.”
In an interview with Sky News Australia, a network that he also owns, Fox News boss Rupert Murdoch agreed with Glenn Beck that President Barack Obama is a racist. Murdoch said, “But he did make a very racist comment, about, you know, blacks and whites and so on, and which he said in his campaign he would be completely above.”
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who was the only Democrat to vote against the House healthcare reform bill, was on MSNBC’s The Ed Show tonight discussing why he voted against the bill. Kucinich said, “I voted against it because it is a giveaway to the insurance companies. They’ll get $70 billion in new business. They’ll have 21 million captive customers.”
Even though numerous potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates have recently starting blazing a path to the Hawkeye state, the one notable exception has been former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. That is going to change in December, when Palin will come to the state, not to campaign, but to hawk her book.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh blamed the Ft. Hood shooting where 13 soldiers were killed on President Obama. Limbaugh said, “We could almost say this is Obama’s fault, because this guy said that he believed Obama was going to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Rachel Maddow was on Meet The Press today talking about the healthcare bill that the House recently passed. Maddow said that language restricting access to abortion in the bill is a poison pill for liberals and progressives that could end up costing Democratic candidates votes with pro-choice women. Maddow called it the biggest restriction on abortion in a generation.
On Fox News Sunday today Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman claimed that the Ft. Hood shooter was an Islamic extremist, but when asked by host Chris Wallace what evidence he had to back up his point Lieberman said, “Nothing I can confirm at this point.” Yet, Lieberman still advanced the theory that the attack was Islamic terrorism.
On NBC’s Meet The Press today MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow refuted the GOP talking point that passing healthcare reform is fiscally irresponsible. Maddow also made a political prediction about the fates of those who oppose healthcare reform, “I think people who vote against it are going to regret it.”
As House Republicans continue to play blind, deaf, and dumb, various Jewish organizations came out today and condemned the anti-Semitic signs that were visible during yesterday’s tea bagger protest of healthcare reform in Washington, D.C. Elie Wiesel said, “This kind of political hatred is indecent and disgusting.”
Last night on The Daily Show Jon Stewart delivered the perfect spoof of Glenn Beck and his Fox News program. Calling himself a concerned American citizen about what’s going on inside Glenn Beck, Stewart then broke out a chalkboard and revealed a conspiracy theory about how Beck’s own internal organs have turned against him. Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity have all given rousing endorsements to ABC’s revival of the show V. All three of the FNC personalities claim that the show is a political statement against Obama and healthcare reform. Ironically enough, all three also made their claims on the exact same day. I smell a talking point here.
President Obama made a surprise appearance before the White House’s daily press briefing to announce that both the American Medical Association and the AARP have endorsed the House version of the healthcare reform bill. This move was a not subtle, but effective upstaging of the tea party healthcare protest.
Many viewers and listeners probably noticed that Glenn Beck was absent for much of his radio and his Fox News television program yesterday. It turns out that Beck suffered an appendicitis attack, and is recovering from surgery. This didn’t stop Beck from taking a shot a Michael Moore via his Twitter page.
Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck were the three biggest names who got behind the right wing House candidacy of Doug Hoffman in New York. These three have been the loudest advocates of the GOP’s need to move to the right, and although Hoffman might have lost the election, the biggest losers yesterday were Limbaugh, Beck, and Palin.
Rep. Michele Bachmann turned up on the Glenn Beck Program, which is minus one Glenn Beck, to promote her healthcare protest in Washington, D.C. tomorrow. Bachmann turned up the military rhetoric and called the protesters freedom fighters. I guess to her protesting healthcare reform is just like risking your life in war.
While doing the Worst Persons segment on his MSNBC show Countdown tonight host Keith Olbermann took aim at Glenn Beck for his comparison of healthcare reform to 9/11. Obermann said, “In short, Glenn, 9/12ers if you are invoking 9/11 just to oppose healthcare reform, go to hell.” Check out the video.

Just as important is the fact that the Senators who voted no on the Franken Amendment are being held accountable in their home states.
On his FNC show yesterday Neil Cavuto launched into a defense of Fox News’ 2009 election coverage. Cavuto said, “We are not red. We are not blue. We are all about green…your money.” However, this does not explain why Fox News has done 16 segments over the past two weeks with candidates Chris Christie, Bob McConnell, and Doug Hoffman.
On his Fox News program, Glenn Beck compared the healthcare reform bill to 9/11. He claimed that his 9/12 Project is working to derail healthcare reform which they think would be like another 9/11. Beck said, “The 9/12ers are willing to stand in line and take our shoes off before the plane actually hits the tower,” because access to healthcare is just like terrorism.
In an interview with CNS News, Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch admitted the real reason why the Republican Party is opposed to healthcare reform is that they are worried that people will like it and vote Democrat in future elections.
Even though it looks like the Republican Party will win at least one and maybe as many as all three major elections tomorrow, this has not stopped the right wing from slipping into full blown paranoid mode. Andrew Breitbart’s website claimed that Democrats are rigging the NJ gubernatorial election, while Rush Limbaugh warned about Democratic malfeasance on his radio show.
On Fox News’ America’s Newsroom program network VP Bill Sammon essentially kicked former NY Republican House candidate Dede Scozzafava out of the Republican Party today. Sammon claimed that because she supported the stimulus and is pro-choice, she is, “for all practical purposes a Democrat,” who is out of lockstep with the GOP.
During an appearance on Face The Nation this morning, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) went out of his way to give the impression that the public option is the only thing stopping him from supporting healthcare reform. This was yet another lie from Lieberman on the issue of heathcare reform. Here is a look at some of his other false statements about healthcare reform.
2008 Obama presidential campaign manager David Plouffe was on Meet The Press today, and he provided some insight into the campaign’s reaction to the selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate. He said, “Well, I think we should thank John McCain for picking her, in terms of how it helped us win in 2008…”
Senior adviser to President Obama, David Axelrod was on CBS News’ Face The Nation today, and he not only took on Rush Limbaugh, but he also denied that the White House is at war with Fox News. Axelrod said, “We’re at war only with people who represent mistruths as truth.”
Rush Limbaugh was the featured guest on Fox News Sunday today, where he ended the interview by making the prediction that there will be a voter revolt against Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, which will make Obama a one term president. However, when asked what Republican will defeat Obama, Limbaugh couldn’t name anyone.
Kimberly Daniels recently wrote about Halloween Candy for Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network web site, and her rhetoric about demonic Halloween candy personifies a brand of religion that amounts to Christian superstition. It links to the crazy that is epitomized by extreme fundamentalists.
In an interesting blog post today, Harvard Business professor, and Obama voter Bill George argued that MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann is hurting America. George said, “Olbermann cheapens discourse. He touts easy solutions. He speaks in truculent soundbites. His invective is hurting America!” This leads to the question are progressives sick of Olbermann?
On his radio show today Glenn Beck claimed to be offended because President Obama made an overnight visit to Dover AFB to honor the return of 18 fallen Americans who died due to two helicopter crashes in Afghanistan on Monday. Beck said, “Barack Obama also used the troops coming home in coffins yesterday as a photo op.”
Levi Johnston was on CBS’ The Early Show today, and Sarah Palin’s problem that won’t go away, made an ominous claim. Johnston said, “I have things that can, you know — that would get her in trouble, and could hurt her. Will hurt her. But I’m not gonna go that far.”
Here is an amusing moment from yesterday’s Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. Sen. Claire McCaskill was talking about Glenn Beck’s rant about czars, when she referred to him as, “he who shall not be named,” which was a reference to Voldemort from Harry Potter. If Beck is Voldemort, then I guess Obama is Harry Potter.
Last night on The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart explained what net neutrality was, and also mocked the Republican opposition to it. He singled out John McCain for criticism, “McCain is proposing that AT&T and Verizon be given freedom to control what information passes through the Internet.” Check out the video.
NBC News/The Wall Street Journal is set to release a poll this evening in which support for the public option continues to grow. The poll will reveal a reversal on the issue. Last month most people were opposed to the public option by a 48%-46% margin, but this month the measure is supported, 48%-42%.
On Fox and Friends this morning Glenn Beck took a break from calling Obama a racist, socialist, fascist by comparing his administration to Al Capone. Beck said, “This administration is, they modeled themselves I guess, after Al Capone. You take these guys on and they will bash your brains out…”

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was on NBC’s Meet The Press today where he said that Democrats are close to having the 60 votes that they need to move healthcare reform forward in the Senate. Schumer said that the compromise that will lead to likely passage is a public option with a state opt out clause.

Today the Fox Nation and Rush Limbaugh ran with a quote from Barack Obama’s thesis while he was a student at Columbia today that the Founding Fathers did not allow for economic freedoms. It turns out that this was a satire/hoax, which was a fact that was initially lost on both of them.
In an interview this morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Obama White House adviser Valarie Jarrett expressed the president’s firm commitment to the public option. Jarrett said, “He’s committed to it, he’s pushing for it, and he’s absolutely committed to delivering on health care reform this year.”
At his briefing today, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had a tough response to former vice president Dick Cheney’s criticism that Obama is dithering on the decision to add more troops in Afghanistan. Gibbs said that the vice president seems to have forgotten his role in the last seven years of Afghanistan.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh defended Fox News by labeling both MSNBC and CNN respectively porn and child porn. If Fox News is talk radio, Limbaugh said, “MSNBC is pornography, and Obama likes MSNBC.”
On his radio show today Glenn Beck unveiled his latest conspiracy theory that the Obama administration is going to use Onstar to spy on Americans and enforce martial law. He said OnStar is, “fantastic technology if you trust the people whose hands are controlling that technology.” OnStar is now part of the vast Obama conspiracy.

He said they are the enemy of anyone who cares about healthcare, education, energy independence, peace, or anything good for America. Grayson said, “Fox News and their Republican collaborators are the enemy of America.”
This morning House Democrats took to the floor to point out that it has now been 126 days, and Republicans have still not offered their healthcare reform proposal. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said, “Rather than working with Democrats, Republicans are choosing to be the party of no and the status quo. No is not a solution.”
On Monday the White House hosted an off the record chat with President Obama which MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, along with Eugene Robinson, PBS’ Gwen Ifill, and Gloria Borger of CNN were all present, but Fox News was not invited. This led FNC to compare Obama to Nixon and cry about being shut out.
At the same time as Republicans are fighting Healthcare Reform and Universal Healthcare for all as a socialist program and denouncing government involvement in healthcare, they are inserting themselves in between a patient and her doctor, invading the patient’s privacy and medical history, and attempting to interfere in a woman’s constitutional right to have an abortion in her first trimester.
RNC Chairman Michael Steele was on CNN’s The Situation Room today, where when confronted with the new Washington Post poll numbers that show a majority of Americans support the public option, he admitted that the idea is popular. He tried to falsely equate the public option with government run healthcare.
Within a year, Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann has gone from a little known congresswoman to a being figure on the far right. Bachmann has accomplished this by working the media, especially the cable news networks, in order to raise her profile and campaign cash.
According to the new Washington Post poll, the Republican Party has gained no ground on the Democrats on the generic congressional ballot. Those polled favor Democratic candidates 51%-39%. This represents no change from 2008 when Democrats led 52%-37%, and 2006 when Democrats led 51%-45%.
Today on his radio show, Glenn Beck warned that the Obama White House is trying to isolate Fox News, and he compared the network that he works for the National Enquirer, which could be the most accurate thing that Glenn Beck has ever uttered on his radio show.
On his FNC program tonight, Glenn Beck went on a conspiracy filled rant that managed to turn an attempt to promote volunteering into an attempt to undermine capitalism. Beck said, “First green week and now service week, soon we can have 52 weeks of the White House writing scripts telling us what to do.”
Today on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh mocked reports that children are dying from H1N1. Limbaugh accused the administration of using the swine flu body count to promote healthcare. Limbaugh said, “It’s a new battlefield, but the same thing, battlefield deaths, the new swine flu body count, all because the priority is healthcare.”
Today on MSNBC Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough defended Fox News, and retreated back into the liberal media bias argument while discussing the David Axelrod’s statement that Fox News isn’t a really news station. Scarborough said, “Fox News is no more biased in its own way, than the other networks are biased in their own way.”
David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel hit the Sunday talk show circuit and continued to redefine Fox News as a political organization. Axelrod said that FNC isn’t really a news organization, and that they are pushing a point of view. Emanuel said that the network is so much a news organization, but a perspective. The White House is not going pretend that FNC is fair and balanced.
The former Bush’s Brain, Karl Rove was on Fox News Sunday today where defended Fox News and compared Obama to Richard Nixon. He also claimed that the president is demeaning the presidency by keeping an enemies list, and picking out enemies in the media.
Even though research and Bristol Palin have demonstrated that abstinence only education is not effective, Republicans continue to support it. The GOP would rather play to ideological and religious fantasies than admit that abstinence only education drives up healthcare costs while providing poor results.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh descended into conspiracy theories as he blamed the Obama people for his rejected bid to become a minority owner of the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh said, “Obama, the Obama people have got their hooks in the NFL. I am assuming that when Limbaugh gets a cold, he blames Obama for that too.
Last night on The Daily Show, as part of his ‘Doubtbreak ’09” segment, Jon Stewart sarcastically pilloried the news media’s coverage of H1N1 and the imminent availability of a swine flu vaccine, especially FNC’s Glenn Beck. Stewart pointed out to Beck that, “I think the virus is more interested in killing you than the government is.”
Glenn Beck’s Red Scare Revival 2009 continued on his FNC program today where he named the names of the Marxists in the Obama administration. Beck named Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Carl Browner, and Cass Sunstein as Marxists because they support social justice and environmental justice. In Beck’s mind, any progressive cause is Marxist.
CNN announced today that they will not air an ad urging the network to drop controversial anchor Lou Dobbs during their much hyped “Latino in America” series next week. The ad urges CNN’s viewers to tell the network to, “drop the hate, drop Lou Dobbs.” It had been reported that CNN would air the ad, but this afternoon the network said it won’t.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh took out his bitterness over not being able to become an owner of the St. Louis Rams on the NFL. Limbaugh said that he was demonized with false quotes so that the NFL could protect their, “outpost of racism and liberalism.” I hope Limbaugh realizes that 90% of the NFL’s political contributions go to Republicans, not Democrats.
Recently, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) succeeded in getting passed in the Senate Finance Committee a new measure to re-fund the disastrous Abstinence Only Sex Education that clearly was so ineffective under the eight years of the Bush Administration. The measure would restore $50 million dollars in funding to what is nothing more than a failed ideological experiment.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh continued to make the criticism of his ownership bid for St. Louis Rams political. Limbaugh said, “This is all about smearing mainstream traditional conservatism, and I El Rushbo, happen to be the most prominent voice for mainstream traditional conservatism.”
Despite Glenn Beck’s protests that he is non-partisan, on his radio show today he offered to hold a fundraiser for right winger Rep. Michele Bachmann. Beck asked Bachmann how he could help her raise money, and then said, “We should have a fundraiser for you, Michele.”
As soon as Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe voted in favor of the Senate Finance Committee’s healthcare reform proposal, it was a given that Rush Limbaugh would go on the attack. Limbaugh called Snowe a predictable joke, and then he attacked the state of Maine. He said that we ought to saw the state off and let it float out to sea.
When Donny Deutsch appears on MSNBC, for better or worse, something interesting always happens. Today he was on Morning Joe talking about Rush Limbaugh when he called Rush a “megalomaniac and a scary, distasteful, human being,” and while talking about Limbaugh’s bid to own an NFL team called him a douche.
On his radio show today Glenn Beck claimed Barack Obama is on a mission to take out Fox News or any media that challenges him. Beck called Obama a dictator, and compared Fox News to the Jews during the Holocaust, while warning that when Obama is done with FNC, he is going to come after other news organizations.
Sec. of State Hillary Clinton was on NBC’s Today show this morning when she was asked whether or not she will ever run for president again. Clinton said, “No. I mean, this is—this is—a great job. It is a 24/7 job. And– I’m looking forward to retirement at some point.”
According to today’s Gallup daily tracking poll, President Obama’s approval rating has gained five points in the past week, and has jumped to 56%. The Gallup poll now matches other national polls that have seen the president’s numbers rising lately, but is his winning the Nobel Peace Prize behind the most recent increase?
People don’t seem to get the origin of the Nobel Peace Prize, because all over the internet, you will read:
“How can they do that?”
They can do that because that was the intention of the prize….from the beginning. And it is THEIR prize. It is privately funded. They can do whatever they want. It was intended for visionaries, not necessarily an “accomplishment”.
After all, peace starts as a belief. Having the vision for a nuclear free world is huge. It starts there. Did W have that commitment? did John McCain? No. Even Hilary Clinton didn’t embrace peace as the ideal the way Obama did and does. So, it is rather special, in point of fact.
Obama Wins the Nobel Peace Prize and the “Right†Align Themselves with Taliban in Opposition to US President. The self-described “conservativesâ€/aka, hatriots can’t feel proud of their country if it means anything good for their President. Now, at last, the GOP has aligned themselves with the Taliban for all to see.
Rep. Michele Bachmann was on FNC’s The O’Reilly Factor last night, where she indulged in one of O’Reilly’s favorite hobbies, attacking MSNBC. O’Reilly said that the left is after Bachmann, and she replied, “So now it’s like I almost have personal stalkers, only they have TV shows…”
The National Enquirer is reporting that they’ve gotten a peek at Palin’s ghost-written (by a partisan who pals around with white supremacists) “book” and it’s one huge pre-emptive attack on Levi. “Sarah got a ton of dough from her advance, but the book appears to be nothing more than a self-serving press release touting what she calls her ‘happy marriage.’
On his radio show today, talk show host, and potential future part owner of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams, Rush Limbaugh declared that basketball is the favorite sport of gangs. Limbaugh said, “Midnight basketball, I mean, we’ve done it all. We’ve taken the favorite sport of gangs, and we put it at midnight to get them on the basketball court.”
Republicans are insinuating that Obama’s “delay”, aka, seeking input from naysayers and congress before making a decision regarding strategy in Afghanistan, is indicative of weakness on Obama’s part. Apparently, Republicans have been suppressing Congressional War Powers and the Constitution for so long now that they just assume it’s a given that everyone does so, and failure to do so is smugly rebranded as “delay”.
The organization ColorOfChange.org announced today that 19 more companies have joined the advertiser boycott of Glenn Beck. This brings the total number of companies participating in the boycott to 80. The most recent additions include Subaru, Toyota-Lexus, and Equifax. Even Beck’s B and C list advertisers are now leaving him.
Tonight on his Fox News program The O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly joined several other conservatives in distancing themselves from those who cheered when it was announced that Chicago’s 2016 bid to host the Olympics had failed. O’Reilly said that their reaction was strange because he thought the Olympics could bring some prosperity.
On his FNC program tonight, Glenn Beck went on the attack against the media because he claimed that they are ignoring the issues, and instead are looking into his past. Beck said to the media, “Good lord stop wasting your time on this kind of despicable yellow journalism…” Beck accuses others of yellow journalism is pretty rich.
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, host and Republican Joe Scarborough drilled Rush Limbaugh for cheering Chicago’s failed 2016 Olympic bid. Scarborough said, “I will tell you middle Americans that swing elections see that and go oh my God Republicans have gone off the deep end.”
While discussing Sarah Palin’s new book both conservative columnist David Brooks and GOP strategist Mike Murphy agreed today on Meet The Press that Sarah Palin will not be the GOP nominee in 2012. Brooks went as far as to say, “And if Sarah Palin is the nominee, the Republican nominee, I’ll eat my hat.”
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham went on Fox News Sunday today, where he continued his one man campaign to distance conservatism and the Republican Party from FNC host Glenn Beck. Graham, a friend of John McCain specifically took issue with Beck saying that country is better off with Barack Obama as president. Graham said that Beck doesn’t represent conservatism and the GOP.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was on NBC’s Meet The Press this morning, and she had some harsh words for those on the right who are calling President Obama a failure and celebrating Chicago’s failed bid to host the Olympics. Maddow said, “For them to be cheering America’s loss here on the right I think is sort of disgusting.”
In response to former McCain advisor Steve Schmidt saying that nominating Sarah Palin as the GOP presidential nominee in 2012 would be a catastrophe for the party, Team Palin urged people to go buy her book. Instead of putting together a staff for a potential presidential campaign, Sarah Palin is trying to sell books.
Don Imus was on Fox News today hyping his new Fox Business show, and as he and Neil Cavuto were discussing Sarah Palin Imus said, “She should have had enough sense to know she wasn’t ready for primetime…to sit down and not be able to get through an interview with that little rodent over at CBS, Katie Couric is absurd.”
On his radio show today, an absolutely giddy Glenn Beck rejoiced that Chicago lost their bid to host the 2016 Olympic bid. The Beck crew characterized this as a failure for Obama. Republicans have sold the meme that they just need more “time†to draft a good health care reform bill. More time? They had control of the House, Senate and WH for 6 years and they never even brought this issue up! They’ve had all summer to review the various plans and come up with an idea. Heck, they took us into a pre-emptive war with a sovereign nation quicker than that!
The U.S. Department of Justice released the first ever national study of crime against persons with disabilities, and the results are both sickening and shocking. The report finds that the crime rate against persons with disabilities is one and a half times higher than the non-disabled. For 2007, the most frequent violent crimes against the disabled were simple assault, aggravated assault, and robbery.
The following of freshman Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) keeps growing. Today his camp sent out a reelection email which thanked Republican hypocrites for the increasing donations to his 2010 campaign. The email taunted the GOP with, “Keep up the good work, gentlemen! The Grayson campaign thanks you for your support.”
Glenn Beck went on another one of his they’re out to get me paranoid rants today, and he even included the impersonation of him on last Thursday’s Saturday Night Live Weekend Update special. Beck said, “Don’t think that what happened to Sarah Palin didn’t go through my mind when I saw my character on Saturday Night Live.”
While the rest of Fox News is bashing President Obama for his trip to Denmark to lobby for Chicago to win the right to host the 2016 Olympics, Bill O’Reilly and Ann Coulter both said on O’Reilly’s FNC show that the trip is no big deal. O’Reilly said, “It is not a big deal. He can work on Air Force One coming and going and they got everything else.”
Glenn Beck’s mini-me Lou Dobbs has jumped on board with the right wing paranoia over swine flu vaccinations. Dobbs called it “detestable” that healthcare workers in New York City have been required to take the swine flu vaccine shot, because there is nothing more American than a flu epidemic being spread through our healthcare system.
While nothing stops this quite so well as shedding the light of day on the ugly attitudes of the far right, it seems increasingly that outlets like Fox News would prefer to sugar-coat this conduct (including ignoring the conduct of head cheerleader Glenn Beck) – and instead refer to this as simply ‘angry citizens’ protesting the President’s plans. What can be done to finally cause organizations like Fox News to finally expose these people as both ignorant, and dangerous?
Glenn Beck unveiled his latest cause for paranoia and fear today, and it is the fact that some state and local governments are mandating that some workers get vaccinated for the swine flu. Beck claims that eventually the government is going to force everyone to get the shot, or be rounded up by the government. Beck is using fear to discourage his listeners from getting the shot.
Sarah Palin’s ghost-written book, “Going Rogue; An American Life†is set to come out early, on Nov 17, in time for the holiday season, and I’m really impressed that she has now managed to complete, albeit with the help of 4 writers and who knows how many editors, one speech and one book! Looks like she may not quit everything she starts….just those things icky, hard like being governor of a state facing financial difficulties after years of being flush. When the going gets tough, the pitbull gets quittin’!
