2011 CPAC Proves The Republicans Have No Job Solutions
The Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) is an annual gathering of concerned conservatives. It is always a bellwether of the state of the conservative movement in general, and the American Conservative Union specifically, according to chairman of CPAC David Keene. CPAC started on February 10 and runs through today in Washington D.C.. Speakers ranged from Rep. Michelle Bachmann to Texas Governor Rick Perry and potential 2012 Republican Presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney.
Each speaker tossed the red meat to their base of teapartiers and crimson red supporters. Some spoke on how poorly Obama is doing and how they all have a plan to move our Country forward.
The official agenda of CPAC ranged from:
1.Using School Choice and Homeschools to Grow the Conservative Movement,
2.Getting Started In Hollywood,
3.Traditional Marriage and Society
4.The Left’s Campaign to Reshape the Judiciary.
While all of these items on the official agenda are good topics of conversation and points of interest for the right wing conservatives, one important thing the CPAC organizers left out of the great conservative topics on their agenda is jobs.
Jobs are the #1 issue on the minds of the American people by 43% , followed by healthcare at 18% and the federal budget at 14% according to CBS news/New York Times poll. Yet the organizers of this national convergence of conservatives didn’t think it was important enough to set aside time on the agenda for it.
They did however set aside time for, “Are We Superman? Using School Choice and Homeschools to Grow the Conservative Movement.”
Interestingly, I had the opportunity to speak with Tommy Thompson, the former Health and Human Services Secretary under President George W. Bush, today on a local conservative talk radio show. I confronted him with this very issue.
I asked Mr. Thompson why the organizers of CPAC didn’t put the ECONOMY and job creation on the official agenda, yet traditional marriage got special treatment.
He replied with the typical Republican mantra of, “the government doesn’t create jobs.” I then followed up with, “Well that explains why the Republicans in the House of Representatives have not introduced a bill regarding the a plan to get the economy moving forward.”
It has been over thirty days since the GOP took control of the House and they have managed to bring to the floor multiple bills, including re-defining rape to repealing health insurance reform. Not one plan regarding job creation.
Our country is still in the midst of high unemployment, and the only issue that the organizers of the national conservative movement didn’t set aside to have a meeting about was the economy.
It’s going to be a long two years with these people in control. Voters’ remorse yet?

I hope they do use home schooling. 99% of this country is not qualified for home schooling and we will be faced with little hitlers with no brains.
The Left’s Campaign to Reshape the Judiciary? Damm, they found out about Obama, Scalia, Thomas and the Krotch Brothers. Who squealed?
Its pretty obvious the GOP wants nothing to do with jobs. Eduardo Cantor said it was Obama’s lead on jobs, others say the government has nothing to do with it, others say Obama is not creating enough jobs. I get the real impression the GOP has a real problem with Responsibility.
On the bright side, while the US population finds out who they elected and what planet thay came from, Barbra O’leily Palin cam in at a whopping 3% on the straw poll. Mr Paul had 30%, Romney was next at 20 something. No one else got over 6%
And I will say again, if the Dems do not start talking loud and clear, I will vote for Dr. Pauls grandmother

I have been reading various blogs about CPAC and I notice that no one has had anything positive to say about CPAC. There was nothing about (like you mentioned) job creation, infrastructure building, education, or even improving the overall health of American citizens. It was just a steady stream of attacks.
What is amazing is how the conservatives keeps demonizing the Democrats over a “government takeover” on everything and yet every single policy that has been introduced by the Republicans thus far in the House has been just that, a government takeover.
And Ron Paul come on…….I’m not a big Trump fan but Trump was absolutely correct in saying that “Ron Paul isn’t electable.”
What is coming true is that the electoral is having buyers remorse seeing that the three or 4 policies that have come out of the House under the Weeper of the House Boehner thus far isn’t helping America or Americans. And looking at the potential list of GOP nominees reads like a funny, sad, dangerous comic strip with make-up and all.
I just hope their are Democrats like my Rep. Anthony Weiner who were bold, loud and clear in delivering their message about how the Republicans are destroying America with their policies and not be afraid. The only problem I see happening with the Dems is the the split between the blue dogs and the progressives that is going to be the ultimate challenge for the Dems in bridging that gap.
Other then that, I see Obama winning the WH in 2012 and the Dems take back the majority in the House and possibly still retain control of the Senate.

Man talk about myopic and tone deaf the GOP hasn’t got a clue about what’s important to the average American. And from what little I saw of the convention their base is just as bad, it really is going to be a long two years…

It did not make me a little Hitler. Some people think it made me a little Linen. I think they are invoking some kind of causality fallacy, though. I did, however, end up with a single brain, which is a bit unfortunate. Damn home school!

The GOP’s job creation bill was the tax cuts they bargained with the WH for and got. That’s why they don’t talk about it and they purposely blocked every single jobs bill the Dems. They used Fox News and the tea party twerps which was all paid for by their daddies, the Koch conservative gangsters and their big time American born foreigner the Chamber of Commerce which was all supposed to be protected by ‘give me a donation’ Ginni and her husband and the rest of the 4 money hungry unfit conservative justices.
It was much easier for the Republicans and the conservatives to say “no” when they didn’t have a lot at stake funny how the tables have turned. I know many moderates out there (including some of my own friends) who aren’t happy with and don’t like Boehner and Cantor but like Obama.
Home schooling to me is just another way of building anti-social skills. I do believe there are a lot of good public schools still out there. Charter schools my be good for some, but they’re strictly test driven and profit oriented with little accountability.
The GOP would rather raises taxes to fund anti-abortion (which is really a government takeover of our freedoms) then to actaully spend some time creating reform bills and working together with the Dems. We are witnessing a deep and internal cultural splintering of the Republcian party which I have never witness anything like it. Although it was like that for the Dems when they signed the Civil Rights bill.
So I leave you with this quote and you tell me where America is headed?
“Well, I don’t need to see GDP numbers or to listen to economists….where are the jobs.”
–John Boehner
btw keep in mind it was Rachel Maddow who broke the story on C-Street….C-Street who…I love my liberalness.

I think that Ron Paul will be a credible primary threat for the GOP.

Maybe the reason is because as we have seen the government can not create jobs. Maybe you missed the past 2 years where our President and the Democrats dumped billions of dollars into “Job Creation” and here we are. What will create jobs is getting the economy back on its feet. The government needs to simply get out of the way.
Just incase you missed the comments about the economy at CPAC here is a link to afew:

Maybe you missed that Obama has created more jobs net by far than Bush did in 8 years. Maybe you should consider where we would be without that money Obama “dumped” into the economy. Maybe the people you listen to arnt willing to tell you that.

That explains why manufacturing and exports are up for America under Obama. Facts much?
American exports of goods rose 21 percent in 2010
…It was the sharpest rise in American exports since 1988, and it enabled the United States to pass Germany and again become the world’s second-largest exporter, behind China….
….The increase in American exports came as manufacturing employment in the United States rose by 0.9 percent in 2010, the first annual increase since 1997.
