And we’d better work like hell to keep PBO in the White House where he belongs and the incompetent, bigoted republicans out.

You have to love a guy like Bill Maher. He always says what’s on his mind and turns serious, but normally boring, topics into interesting discussion with a lot of humor on the side.

President Obama’s very presence in the White House contradicts every assumption these bozos have been taught to believe, and 2.5 years after his election, they are still smarting with disbelieving anger. Jason, you are spot on about their rabid hatred of the president. It has clouded their collective judgment and driven them to reject sensible solutions to problems that they once embraced, just because the president embraces them. They are tying themselves into knots, with the twisted logic that makes them look so stupid. Yet, he perseveres and lets them make fools of themselves while he plays it cool. They would like nothing more than for him to play into the stereotype of the angry black man, because it would make their day by affirming one of their cherished stereotypes. All they are doing is eventually digging a hole for themselves that is the only appropriate place for them.

Jason,
You and all the commenters are absolutely correct. I will stick with what Jon Stewart said a couple of weeks ago, post birth certificate, Trump and BinLaden, about the Rethuggery Obstructionist Party of Teabagging Fascists:
“They need to STFU, now they just sound crazee~”

You can only play the hatred game just so long until people get sick and tired of it.the Republicans are playing to probably 50% of their base. The rest of their base may or may not swallow this stuff, may vote the party but then again they may not. I’m not so sure that any of us writing to our representatives has anything to do with anything, but our vote certainly does. At least until the Republicans can steal elections that are one-sided against them

Now let us see how the Repubs will act with black man Herman Cain putting his pres. bid in today. Does one think it will be any different? Hmmm. Inquiring minds want to know.
