we need to have laws governing the fact that if there are revenue cuts to public schools, that any publicly funded charter school should lose their money first.
The arrogance in Wisconsin is so utterly distasteful that I am still in shock that half the people still support these Republicans. It’s pretty obvious the Democrats are not getting the message across to these people. It’s going to take a lot of information to shake people who have voted Republican for a long time enough to see the light.
Speaker Boehner Saying that we seen the light in 2010. It’s pretty obvious he stuck a bushel basket over top of the lamp right away because a lot of people aren’t getting it. if Mr. Boehner is worried about reelection time and has Republican Party that he certainly should of been out talking to the Republican governors with a huge stick asking them what are they doing. I hear all the time. The speaker Boehner is not one of the people who wants to pull the tea party routine yet I don’t see him acting any differently than they are.

Lots of conservatives here in GA are very upset today. The GA Supreme Court has refused to reconsider its’ ruling from last month that deemed a charter school law created by the republican-majority legislature in 2008 unconstitutional because it takes control of education from local BOEs. The new charter schools created under this law are now scrambling to get approval from local BOEs or risk losing 40% of their funding. Now, cue up the threats.

Olsen knows, just as the republicans in the GA state legislature know, that these laws are meant to benefit someone they know and aren’t intended to benefit all citizens. May he and the other WI republicans be voted out of office in August.

I have noticed that the charter schools I am familiar with are in predominantly white districts with upper middle class demos and they teach religion. Our tax money goes to “separate but equal” education courtesy of GOP. I read that they were trying to get around this image by going into poorer districts for a poster type of run, so they could get minorities to give them soundbites about how great the charters are.
If you follow the link in the article, you can see that not all charters perform well – in fact, if everyone could go to charter, they would suffer the same lack of funding.

This is so very sad. Accross this nation republicans are making up their own rules at the expense of the people. I pray people wake up in america and replace these republicans. Shame, shame on that party. I don’t ever want to hear they put country first. They put their party first and themselves next to line their pockets.
