In 140 Characters Or Less Team Obama Slices And Dices Mitt Romney
By: Guest ContributorJul. 8th, 2011more from Guest Contributor

After Mitt Romney fired off a statement about Obama being out of touch on the economy, David Axelrod took to Twitter and obliterated Mittens with a single tweet.
Romney put out a statement after more disappointing economic data was released today that said in part, “Today’s abysmal jobs report confirms what we all know – that President Obama has failed to get this economy moving again. Just this week, President Obama’s closest White House adviser said that ‘unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers’ do not matter to the average American.”
Obama adviser David Axelrod took to Twitter and with a single tweet showed Romney’s campaign staff how it’s done:

Axelrod was correct. In April a Reuters story summed up Romney’s economic record, “Later, as Massachusetts governor from January 2003 to January 2007, Romney presided over one of the puniest rates of employment growth among the 50 U.S. states, at a time the nation’s economy was booming. Labor Department figures showed Massachusetts ranked 47th among the states in the rate of jobs growth in those four years — ahead of only Ohio, Michigan and Louisiana.”
A 2010 Market Watch story highlighted just how pitiful Massachusetts’ job growth was under Romney, “The Massachusetts jobs growth over that period, a pitiful 0.9%, badly lagged other high-skill, high-wage, knowledge economy states like New York (2.7%), California (4.7%) and North Carolina (7.6%). The national average: More than 5%. The state was dead last in job creation.
Yet, here we are in 2011 and Mitt Romney is trying to sell himself as a job creator. As a corporate raider Romney may have laid more people off than he actually created jobs. For a top pro like David Axelrod, this was shooting fish in a barrel. Romney can ditch the suits and show up at campaign events in a pickup truck, but at heart he is still country club Mittens.
If Axelrod can destroy Mitt Romney’s job creator myth with a single tweet, imagine what he is going to do when he has a billion dollars to play with during the 2012 campaign?

What makes you think he doesn’t have good people? Conjecture and frankly insulting. He knows WTF he is doing.
We gave him SHIT to work with in 2010. Now we reap the consequences.

Please understand that there are rumors that he has placed Social Security on the table concerning the debt ceiling talks. The Democratic Party base has made it known that it WILL NOT approve of ANY CUTS IN SOCIAL SECURITY OR MEDICARE.
This news has been circulated on the internet.

The operative term there being “rumors”. So, you heard rumors on the internets, therefore Obama clearly needs better people advising him. Whuh?
You could very well turn out to be right, but you need better sources. ;)

The White House sent an email directly to Huffington Post that debunked that lie, and Jay Carney debunked it in a press conference earlier this week.

What some don’t understand is that although there may be cuts to social programs, there won’t be any cuts to benefits. Sometimes when people hear the word “cuts” they’re not thinking about things like, for example, the government cutting payments to nursing homes under Medicare where the government pays the full amount for a patient receiving some type of therapy wherein he/she receives 30 minutes of treatment but is billed by the nursing home for a full day of treatment.
This post at TPV explains why these are not cuts to benefits but in other areas.

This Nation gets what they deserve…you knew how whacked out, these Tea Bag backed candidates were…you knew they were on the fringe of the Bizarre, yet they were elected:
Snyder in Michigan, Walker in Wisconsin, Scott in Florida, Kasich in Ohio, Brewer in Arizona…and the list goes on…not to mention, the US Senate..with, Rand Paul in Kentucky, Johnson in Wisconsin, Rubio in Florida, etc.
All these people are so far out of the American Mainstream, yet people were Ignorant enough, to Vote for them…NOT! because they believed they could do a better job…BUT! because they were angry at Obama.
That is where the problem really is…we clearly have a choice…go with Obama, let him repair the Nation the best way he can, or allow the radical fringe of the American Right Wing Conservative Movement, take over this Nation, and give up your rights!! because Fascism will not allow this Nation to continue to operate in a Democratic System.
If for one moment, you believe that everything is going to change for the better…then become a Fascist Fanatic , because if Fascism does prevail…that is the only way you will survive. Your choice is clear…become a Fascist or an Anti-Fascist.
In Michigan, where Unions are a way of life…the Governor, is trying to outlaw it, like in Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey…the majority of Michigan elected Snyder…there are a vast amount of Union families in Michigan…yet, Snyder won!! Why was that?
Is time to put petty differences aside, and support the Progressive and Liberal Movements…your choice is simple: Vote for Fascism or Vote for Freedom and Liberty…as easy as Black and White!!!

I hope Axelrod takes on Bachmann and her creepy husband before she and her ‘pledge’ get more popular. Next she’ll be signing a pledge to end contraception, public education, and food stamps. Wait and see.

You may not be far off. Here’s an excerpt from that pledge.
“Recognition that robust childbearing and reproduction is beneficial to U.S. demographic, economic, strategic and actuarial health and security.”
Robust childbearing? I’m sure she’d be thrilled to turn the women of America into brood mares.

Oh, yeah. The word of that really bothered me also. So vague as to encompass just about anything she wants it to mean, including contraception, personhood, etc. Heck, you could even see where she could twist that to include the LGBT community, because after all they can’t be included in that *robust reproduction*. She’s just that twisted too.

Don’t try to understand it, there’s no logic there, it’s all subterfuge. Remember, these are the knuckleheads who are trying to convince us the wealthy create jobs out of the goodness of their hearts, so long as we’re extra nice to them and don’t make them angry by making them pay taxes.
Meanwhile in the real world, jobs are created based on supply and demand, which is largely generated by the lower 80% of the population (’cause there’s more of us and we actually spend our money). So the real brain puzzler is why the Republicans actually WANT the economy to collapse.
I mean, if they’re acting on behalf of the rich, don’t the rich realize they’ll be less rich if we don’t have money to buy their crap with?

We dont matter any longer. There are other markets to sell to and other countries to rape, pillage and plunder for workforce (at $2.00 US a day) and natural resources. The GOP and the greedy rich are the virus that Agent Smith explains to Morpheus in The Matrix.

Good to see someone who also sees what’s really going on here. The greedy beyond belief have found those who will do the work for $2 a day. Those folks need to wake up too & stop working for measly wages or the greedy rich will plunder the entire world.

Actually, they are. China is becoming too expensive. I read a report the other day that Africa is to be the next country for exploited workforce.
That should be interesting. When we talk about corporate masters, so much of Africa is so politicaly corrupt they make our politicians look downright godly, there may be a new era of slavery coming. Even China can’t compete with a workforce making nothing.
I wonder what happens once there are no more 3rd worlds to plunder.

No brain puzzler here at all. They want the economy to fail because they’re so out of touch with 98 pct of Americans that they actually believe a failed economy via their hands can be blamed on Obama, and that we would believe it. It’s all about election 2012.

Of course, Massachusetts was 50th when he took office. He did reduce the deficit by billions. And his attention was on…healthcare…not jobs. The real crisis in MA at the time was not jobs but the near bankrupt budget.
I’d rather be in Mitt’s shoes than Obama’s, who Mitt says (accurately) is rivaled only by Herbert Hoover as a job terminator.

Actually Obama has created a great many jobs. When Obama is losing 750,000 jobs a month, then you might be able to call him a job terminator

You don’t read much info except on rw blogs, do you? The WH released a report from its budget office last week showing that President Obama has created between 2-3 million jobs in less than 3 years. The data in this report has been validated by both conservative and liberal-leaning economists. IIRC, Hoover lost to FDR because of his decision to allow those who had help to create the conditions that led to the Great Depression to “advise” him on job creation, sort of a fox guarding the henhouse scenario. Those who help create a problem are usually NOT the correct ones to choose to solve it, and Hoover’s decision proved it.
When I want accurate information, I go to the source.

The GOP want the economy to collapse to end the Obama administration. They continue to back him and the United States into a corner. What they refuse to learn is that they always underestimate our President. He actually is a man of character, purpose and intent. The GOP’s purpose is based on corporate greed and the extreme right values of the bigoted Tea Party. The GOP majority in the the House and Supreme Court have been bought and paid for by their corporate masters. How President Obama will get around that wall is based on his intellect and the support of decent hard working people in America including the Democratic base.
