Fox News and Rupert Murdoch’s other News Corp properties hate Obama so much that they have donated nearly $59,000 so far this year to reelect him.
According to Open Secrets, News Corp has donated $504,162 to individuals and PAC’s. The surprise comes in who the individual is that has gotten the most money from News Corp. President Obama has received $58,825 from News Corp. The top eight recipients of News Corp cash are the president and congressional committee chairpersons. News Corp must not think much of Mitt Romney’s chances because they have only donated $2,750 to the Republican nominee in 2012.
While Rupert Murdoch’s personal donations have gone to Republicans, News Corp understands that keeping Barack Obama in power is good for business. The delicious irony is that some of the revenue earned from viewers and readers that can’t stand President Obama is being used to help reelect Barack Obama.
Rupert Murdoch didn’t build an empire by being dumb. He knows that if Mitt Romney were to beat Obama, his business would suffer. Murdoch is in the anti-Obama business, which means that he needs four more years of Obama in order to keep his profits up. News Corp’s congressional donations are pretty standard stuff. The big media companies shower money on the committee chairpersons who regulate their industries. Those donations slide back and forth between the parties depending on who has the majority, but the presidential donations are a different story.
News Corp is betting on an Obama victory in November. As they are selling Mitt Romney to their viewers, News Corp is giving money to his opponent. This juicy little fact is something that you will never hear Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity disclose on the air. The next time somebody on Fox News makes you mad, just remember that some of those dollars they are earning with their anti-Obama propaganda are being used to help give the nation four more years of Obama leadership.
Who would have thought that some of the biggest Obama Bots of all run News Corp?

Delicious irony! ROFLMAO you know, I’ve heard that it’s the on-air people on the Fascist Dumb Fux “News” Channel that hate Obama and Democrats so much. Most of the cameramen, interns, producers, production assistants, etc., at the channel despise the Conservative Wrong-Wing Nut Jobs and the Tea Party Militia members. I’ve heard that, when a Liberal walks off the set after hearing the idiocy of the Wrong Wing show hosts, cameramen, etc., apologize to them. What gets me, however, is when their polls show President Obama ahead of Mittens the Liar Rmoney. I thought they were doing that on purpose to rile up the Wrong-Wing and Teabagger base. Now, I think they’ve been polling GOP moderates that have defected from the party…ROFLMAO

The author should look into Occam’s Razor because the simplest explanation is that they donate to him because he represents their interests, even if they don’t say that on their TV. The presented explanation has way too many assumptions and the author comes across as being in denial about the truth presented here. Obama is THEIR guy, not yours. Remember that at election time and vote third party.

“Remember that at election time and vote third party.”
I keep hearing that every four years — usually right after, “don’t you know you’re being duped by BOTH parties?!”
Here’s an idea: why don’t all you “third party” devotees try seeking local and state-level political offices around the country EVERY year, rather than try for the one big national office every four years? You might actually be taken more seriously . . .

Why don’t you try a little critical thinking for once? Voting third party is throwing away our freedom… what little we have left thanks to the damned Republicans and their 1% masters. We have to work and stand together if we’re going to keep the 1% at bay (if not – I pray it happens – bring them to leash and permanently limit their power).
Who are you going to suggest? A fraud like Paul? Oops… the Republicans snapped him up… he’s out of the picture. Maybe the “Constitution Party” or one of the other dominionist fronts?
Get real.

A vote for a third party has never been that much of a choice. The third parties have been more extreme to the right. They call any public program socialist. The government would not be allowed to help in national disasters, or contribute to education.

FOX makes money as the conservative foil to a liberal government and majority view of most other press outlets. Politics comes second to profits for Murdoch and Newscorp. They’ve cornered the conservative market among all other major outlets.
Of course they want Obama in office. He makes them money.

I am not surprised. The rich and corporations usually give to BOTH sides as a way of “hedging their bet”, insuring continued “access” no matter who wins.
It’s similar to how hedgefunds operate. They bet both for and against companies and stocks so that so matter how the company or stock does, they still end up making money. They call it “minimizing risk”. I call it “staking the deck”.

Hi, sparky. You realize that you don’t have to actually donate to get on a campaign’s mailing list, right? That all you have to do is register your name and e-mail address? Sorry to burst your little theory, there.

The Obama election committee should not have accepted a dime from News Corp!!
The Obama folks should give ALL funds from News Corp back to News Corp immediately. Just how remarkably dumb is the Obama election committee?? UNbelievable.
THIS is why I almost hate to vote for Obama again.
He has NO BUSINESS accepting money from crooks like Murdoch/News Corp/FOX!!
This pisses me off.

ARE YOU AN IDIOT? You’re telling me – that in an election where Obama’s going to probably be outspent 3 to 1 – that he shouldn’t accept donations from Newscorp, simply because Newscorp doesn’t line up with his politics? Do you even understand how HYSTERICAL it is that Newscorp is donating to him? Why SHOULDN’T he accept the money? Would you rather him lose the election because he’s outspent? Oh, wait – I forgot – you’re apparently not voting for him because he’s accepting money from a news organization in an election where he’s going to be outspent 3 to 1. I KEEP FORGETTING I’M RESPONDING TO AN IDIOT.
