This is not a ringing endorsement for the man who is running to hover over the red button. Mrs. Romney told television station KTVN Thursday that her biggest concern with Mitt was his “mental well-being”.
“I think my biggest worry would be for his mental well being. I have all the confidence in the world of his ability, his decisiveness, his leadership skills, his understand of the economy, his understanding of what’s missing right now. The pieces that are missing to get the jump started. So for me I think it would be the emotional part of it.”
As she was being attended to by her hair and make up people, Mrs Romney said she never wanted her life to be like this (so hard), but she was driven out of worry over Obama. “I think all Americans should be worried if he’s re-elected because this economy has been under his control for the last four years and we’ve seen no jobs. It’s been a jobless recovery.” Apparently no one has told Ann about the millions of jobs waiting to be created in Obama’s American Jobs Act that Republicans, including her husband’s running mate, have killed.
No one asked Ann how giving “job creators” more tax cuts on the backs of the middle class was going to create jobs.
But take heart, America. The woman who knows Mitt best has confidence in him, but is concerned about his ability to handle the job emotionally.
I daresay she might want to look in the mirror, because after her “stop it” debacle, I’m not quite sure she’s up to it either. I know she thinks campaigning is hard, and it is, but governing is worse. (Just a heads up to Ann re the “victims” in this country — starving isn’t so great either.)
That is, after all, why we force candidates to go through the rigors of campaigning. No matter how she really feels though, this is not a message of confidence. This is not the message she should be sending to the voters, suggesting that Mitt is emotionally fragile. A brief glance through the headlines right now should reinforce why she shouldn’t have said this.
Ann Romney’s comments dovetail with the already existing national narrative that Mitt is a wimp, is too insecure to be president and is too desperate to be liked to be an effective president. And now we also know that Ann Romney is no secret Mitt weapon, unless they finally found the weapons of mass destruction. We suggest they put Ann back in hiding post haste before she sucks all of the imaginary Reagan glory out of Mitt’s pre-debate coverage.
And things were going so well today for Mitt. Et tu, Ann?

Well, dammit, if he’s going to crack up, let him do it now, or, to paraphrase an old song:
Oh, the train he rides on is a hundred coaches long
You can hear it piling up a hundred miles
He ran it too far to the Right, and now, it’s “Mitt, good night”
‘Cause the White House ain’t gonna be his home
Don’t you hate to see how Mitt’s campaigning blows?

Absolutely everything in life these two have experienced has been smooth-sailing. Every success in Mitt’s life has been practically handed to him. He never had to gain personal approval…when his Big-Money did his big-talking.
Mitt & Ann were told this election would be an easy ‘cake-walk’. They and all the T-Bagger Republicans have been filled with lies and misinformation about President Obama.
And yes, I’m sure they’re SHOCKED things have not have gone as swimmingly as they anticipated.

Remember when Mitt said this, upon discovering that Ann had MS?
SNIP – “… in February 1999, (Mitt) left Belmont (Massachusetts) for Utah to oversee preparations for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Ann had planned to stay in Massachusetts until spring, when Craig, their youngest, would finish his senior year of high school.
But Mitt found he couldn’t sleep at night from stress and loneliness, and asked her to come to Utah early.
“I mean, I couldn’t operate without Ann. We’re a partnership. We’ve always been a partnership,” he says.
Then with a deep sigh, he adds, “so her being healthy and our being able to be together is essential…”. – END SNIP

Is this a wonderful love story – or is it MORE? We do NOT need a Leader Of The Free World who is cripplingly dependent on his spouse.

Mitt seems like a mama’s boy. He was coddled in his private academies as the son of the Governor. They got married as soon as he got back from France, before they had finished school. He relies on her to tell him what tie to wear, and she said he looks at her during debates to make sure he’s saying the right thing? Really? She has a degree in French or something, not polisci, not business. She ran several households and got five boys through school. Big whoop. I raised my kids with NO help, and they both have degrees and good jobs and great marriages (and we never paid a surrogate or signed an abortion agreement.) I would never think of interfering in my husband’s engineering issues at work. Come on, Ann, you’re supposed to be the supportive Mormon wife, not the candidate. And we’re really not that into you, either.

Bingo. I don’t recall where I read this, but it was just last week, something about how at the debates, Willard would answer a question and that he always looks for Ann in the audience as if to ask, did I do ok? Was that the right answer? These were Ann’s words, not mine.
So absolutely right. We don’t need a guy in the position of most powerful leader in the world who can’t even operate on a daily basis without his little wifey by his side. That just reeks of WIMP. My God, can anyone see Barack Obama doing this? Not in a million years.

He can’t run a campaign effectively, his tenure at Bain was about profiting at the expense of workers fired from companies he bankrupted, and Massachusetts ranked 47th out of all 50 states in job creation while he was the governor there. So, if he didn’t do so well in these areas, it should tell wifey that he would fare much more poorly if he ever became president. I see him aging just from the strain of running a campaign and the strain of not being able to call all the shots like he has done as CEO. It takes a tremendously strong individual to be president, and it’s obvious that he doesn’t have the moral or mental stamina for the job.

I think for the Romneys, this is actually the first time they have ever been in the ‘real world’ and it’s a culture shock. Their entire lives have been lived in a bubble of knowing and associating with the ‘right’ people who fawned over them and were subservient to them.
I think this experience has been not been a boon to their egos, as Americans are telling them they are not perfect. Their very existence is now being evaluated and critiqued and they can’t comprehend why when noone has ever done so before. They seem to be crumbling under the spot light as their dirty laundry is being publicized, questioned and in some cases mocked.

I’ve heard a few others say they were switching their votes because they and theirs would be immeasurably hurt by the Republican platform. Many of these – disabled vets, retired police officers, people in low-paying jobs, those whose lives have been altruistic and not mercenary- would doubtless be dismissed as “47%ers”, but some of them are personally well-off, and simply think the Republican program cruel.

Not the ideology of the Democratic Party, the administration in general, strategy, policy, etc. but Obama, personally. This has been the whole enchilada since day one; social, racial, economic bigotry. She just said, “this is personal”, meaning…
(In her own words) “if he’s re-elected because this economy has been under his control for the last four years and we’ve seen no jobs…”
If the President is reelected, he will be in OUR uber-rich rice bowl because he will create jobs and bring industry back; industries that Mittens worked so hard to kill or send over seas. Damn him, how dare him, that uppity black man!

Neither Mitt nor Ann is very intelligent. Mitt is so intellectually incurious that he never knows what his position is on a particular issue. And Ann just doesn’t know that most of what she says makes her seem ridiculous. Showing such concern for jobs when her husband built a career on “harvesting” businesses for their value and when his term as governor of Massachusetts left the state in a really bad situation, job-wise, and knowing how the GOP in Congress has thwarted every attempt to pass job legislation makes me mighty suspicious of why she wanted Mitt should run for president. Ann Romney has never in her life thought about employment and how people might need jobs or how people get by with very little.
And now her worries about Mitt’s emotional state should he win may be her inarticulate way of saying that Mitt has emotions. Not something that is obvious to the rest of the world except for his temper which seems quite volatile if he doesn’t get his way.
Obviously one of the Romneys’ big problems is that they have lived in a bubble where everyone thinks they are perfect. Now they are seeing that the wider world does not see them in the same way. What a way to learn that: campaigning for the highest office in the land! A Mitt Romney administration would be a disaster of truly epic proportions for the country and for the world.

The article is spot on, but the best parts are some of the commentaries. Yeah! The idol that Ann follows is Nancy Reagan, the acting coach of one Ronald Reagan, who was always making sure that he followed the script provided by the writing team (GWHB and company). Now, the problem is that the writing for Mitt comes from Karl Rowe, the Kosh Bros, and another bunch of neophytes who cannot grasp reality and only know how to canvas old scripts in the Imperial Library (Oh, how I miss Isaac Asimov). Mitt is the kind of meat that Dwight Eisenhower advised us that it was unfit for consumption. I shall say that Ike was indeed prescient. See what happens when we didn’t follow his advise?
But (now I am getting serious) we shouldn’t get too happy laughs and all. The danger of this clown sneaking into the White House is still high, and even worse, the danger of us forgetting to clean up our House (and Senate) of the New Whig Party troops is sky-high. So back to the streets and let’s make sure our “t”s are crossed and our “i”s have their dots…

Ann and Mitt are a pair of Oscar nominated actors who never can quite get there, and what she’s whining about is that the script sucks and it is hard to put up a decent performance… That alone can crush even those that stick to their day job serving tables at the lunch counter in Wall Street. No awards in the future of this couple…
A friend of mine said: “(Ann and Mitt) make quite the tag team of ‘out of touch on every level’.”
Scary but true…
The problem is that the message doesn’t get into the skulls of the right wing. They read the GOP com Obama’s obituaries and think it is coming from God.

I don’t believe it’s possible for a sociopath to crack up since by definition he’s already mentally ill. He is one of most awkward and uncomfortable in his own skin humans I’ve ever seen. Perhaps that’s because he believes in keeping with the Mormon tradition he has already become a god and cannot understand why he still has a flesh and blood body. Or perhaps it’s because he’s a sociopath always trying to determine how best to behave in order to appear human.Or perhaps it’s both.

Mitt was right to say that they (the campaign) kept Ann’s appearances limited so she wouldn’t make Americans get “tired” of her. This is the second time she really puts both feet in her mouth. She probably thought her comments while getting make and hair was off the record. We won’t see much of her in the near future. I can hardly wait for Romney to be on The View! Bravo Ann, if Mitt cracks, America wins! If he continues to change his comments as often as the rains in Seattle, he is already a cracker! Seeking roses in December and ice in June is delirious!

Have not even read the article yet but got to say two things.
1) If Mitt cannot handle the mental stress while running for President, how is he going to handle the stress of being President?
President Obama is one of the least threatening heads of state he would have to deal with !
2) Is this narcissistic couple really that mentally unstable ( BOTH of them !) that they would prefer the image of victim to that of a psychologically strong leader?
Narcissist always always ALWAYS sooner or later self destruct. Being so trusting and confident in their magical thinking they confidently shoot themselves in the foot over and over and over again, assuming they will win no matter what.
Apparently they see no contradiction being someone mentally unable to handle a campaign and someone strong enough to lead the free world.
This is almost a better soap opera than the Palin debacle and I live in Alaska :)

“…Mitt is a wimp, is too insecure to be president and is too desperate to be liked to be an effective president….”
Just an observation: Have you ever noticed how Mitt literally “minces” when he walks. Most people walk by swinging out from the hip, they stride. Mitt takes steps much smaller than someone of his height and leg length. He walks in a constricted way; he is not comfortable in his own skin.
This evidences itself also in just his body movements, body and head turning. He has small quick movements with no fludity.
Sudden thought: Imagine Mitt on Dancing With The Stars, the judges would notice this in his routines.
It is like he is afraid to “move out” for fear of some obstacle in close physical proximity.
What happened to this man in his childhood to make him such a wimp and so fearful of inhabiting his environment like he belonged in it?
Cowardly (wimpy) men who have power via family or wealth are often the most cruel bullies to those who cannot defend themselves. Like Animals. Like dogs that are cruely treated like Sheamus was.
Many criminal starts with cruelty animals. Mitt started in college with this assault on fellow students.
This is a very unstable person.
