Conservative Hypocrites Would be Outraged if the Left Made a Panda Sex Video About Sarah Palin

Imagine if a liberal PAC made a video in which they had female employees dress up as a panda and Sarah Palin, and the panda was simulating performing oral sex on Sarah Palin. Imagine if they made this video for a conference. Oh, boy.

Now flip that around and stop imagining, because this is real. FreedomWorks, the conservative group also behind the opposition to the Violence Against Women Act, reportedly made such a video about a panda and Hillary Clinton. It was to play at FreePAC, a FreedomWorks conference.

David Corn reported today for Mother Jones, “The video included a scene in which a female intern wearing a panda suit simulates performing oral sex on Hillary Clinton.” Corn uncovered this as a part of an ongoing investigation into Freedom Works.

Corn details the Panda (an inside “joke” based on the Freedom Works idea that liberals are panderers — haha, get it?) oral sex scene:

In one segment of the film, according to a former official who saw it, Brandon is seen waking from a nap at his desk. In what appears to be a dream or a nightmare, he wanders down a hallway and spots a giant panda on its knees with its head in the lap of a seated Hillary Clinton and apparently performing oral sex on the then-secretary of state. Two female interns at FreedomWorks were recruited to play the panda and Clinton.

Yeah, nothing is as funny as degrading your female employees by forcing them to perform cinematic oral sex so you can play it for your allegedly Christian conservative audience. And they wonder why liberals say there is a Republican war on women…

Conservatives for Palin see this as just another opportunity to demonstrate the unfairness of the media, since they claim Palin was treated so much worse (thus they wasted not a word on how this might be inappropriate). To prove how unfair the world is, they cited the Nailin Paylin video:

However, where has been the outrage and the moral disgust at the seeming endless pornographic depictions of Sarah Palin during the last five years? Where have been NOW and Shakesville and the same sites now decrying FreedomWorks when “Nailin Pailin” (sic) and other such disgusting porn videos have been widely disseminated across the internet?

Of course, they are missing the rather salient point that Nailin’ Paylin was not made by a liberal political action committee. In fact, it was not made by liberals or to promote liberal ideas; it was made by Huslter for the money; they should blame the free market that rules the adult film industry. Furthermore, it also reportedly included satires of Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, and the online version included President Obama (don’t ask).

Somehow the Palin fans blame liberals for the Palin lookalike stripper at the Republican National Committee as well. I agree that was completely tasteless and quite a stab in the back, but then, I’m not following how liberals are to blame for the bad taste of the men at the RNC. What I am following is that Sarah Palin has been affiliated with and paid by Freedom Works in the past, and we hear not a word condemning this video from her or her followers.

The good news here is that many FreedomWorks staffers objected and the video was not screened. According to David Corn, they asked how this was not sexual harassment of the two female employees. Good question. The bad news is it was made, and it reveals the ugly underbelly of Freedom Works.

When it was revealed days ago that FreedomWorks was lobbying hard against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, it brought up a lot of questions. What is a group allegedly based on fiscal conservatism doing lobbying against women’s safety?

FreedomWorks, which helps fund the Tea Party, defines itself as, “FreedomWorks members know that government goes to those who show up, and are leading the fight for lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.” How is more freedom gained by lessening protections for women? What does a panda and oral sex have to do with freedom or the free market?

Post-Panda oral sex video, we have to ask how prevalent and how driving is the hatred of women for the higher ups at FreedomWorks. It also reveals how many of the true believers have higher ethical standards than do their leaders. It’s a shame to see folks who might really believe in the message of FreedomWorks being taken in by the corporate fraud of a phony grassroots movement that it is.

If a liberal PAC had ever made such a video with Sarah Palin, the outrage would be deafening, rightfully so. The right got so outraged over Bill Maher and David Letterman’s WORDS about Sarah Palin (and one of her daughters) that they tried to have them shut down.

Yet all the Palin supporters can manage in light of the low-brow humor of a panda performing oral sex on the then sitting Secretary of State is more self pity, confirming the suspicion that Momma Grizzly feminism was never a real thing.

This kind of “humor” is better reserved for the unmoderated playground of the Internet than for a political action committee. Most concerning is the appalling lack of judgement and juvenile mindset of the higher ups at FreedomWorks.
