Three armed men entered the office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris and opened fire on Wednesday, killing at least 12 people — including journalists, staff and police, according to French President Francois Hollande.
U.S. President Obama strongly condemned the attack on the satirical Paris newspaper that left at least 12 people dead. The President vowed to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice. In a statement the President said, “I strongly condemn the horrific shooting at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris that has reportedly killed 12 people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attack and the people of France at this difficult time.”
The President called France America’s oldest ally, “France is America’s oldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in the fight against terrorists who threaten our shared security and the world. Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended. France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageous attack took place, offer the world a timeless example that will endure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers.”

The President assured that his Administration is in touch with French officials and he has directed his Administration “to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice.”
White House spokesman Josh Earnest told CNN Wednesday morning that President Obama had been “briefed with limited details about the Paris attack.” Further, “Earnest said he is not aware of any imminent threat to the United States.”
According to an AP report, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said “Washington will work hard to protect Americans at home and abroad” and they continue to monitor the situation.
