A Secret Meeting Unmasks Four 2016 Republican Koch Brothers Puppets

Meet the Republican Koch puppets for 2016: Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Mike Pence.

Four of these Republican presidential hopefuls have been invited to a closed to the press donor meeting of the Kochs’ “nonprofit” Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce in Palm Springs, California, according to Politico.

It’s a gathering of the rich who intend to stay rich by imposing austerity and deregulation thinly disguised as “ideology” (based on a work of fiction) upon the rest of the country. The Kochs were named the 10th top polluter in 2010 and they’ve been fined millions for lying about poisoning people.

Sources told Politco that the four include Koch “favorite” Governor Scott Walker, Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio. They are expected to attend, though none would confirm their attendance at the secretive meeting. Governor Mike Pence (R-IN) is another Koch favorite, but he is not expected to attend this event.

Kenneth P. Vogel reported:

The meeting, set to be held at a Palm Springs hotel, is the annual winter gathering of Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, the nonprofit group that oversees the network of fiscally conservative groups formed with help from the Kochs and their operatives.

The Koch brothers and their many subgroups apparently think they had a “very successful cycle” with the 2014 elections, upon which they spent about $290 million, according to a political operative speaking to Politico. So they just might want to impact the Republican primaries now.

The Koch brothers, who long ago realized they couldn’t get directly elected as Libertarians and are now buying “Koch puppets”, funded almost 44,000 ads in the lead up to the 2014 election, according to the Center for Public Integrity and the Kantar Media Group/CMAG.

The total includes the six most active nonprofit groups in the Koch brothers’ coalition: Americans for Prosperity, the American Energy Alliance, Concerned Veterans for America, the Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, Generation Opportunity and the 60 Plus Association.

That’s a lot of money and advertising — almost one out of every ten ads in the 2014 senate race, according to the Center for Public Integrity and the Kantar Media Group/CMAG — to defend an outcome that was predestined by the maps and the average midterm voter. That’s not exactly a huge propaganda win. The Kochs and their wealthy allies fooled a bunch of Republicans into voting against their own interests and voting for the oligarchs. This is not hard to do, this is what the Republican Party does. This is the purpose of Fox News.

The big question on everyone’s mind is if the Kochs let their “success” go to their heads, which puppet will they push and what will the Republican establishment do when they realize that just like the Tea Party has ruined their reputation in the House, the Kochs will destroy their reputation nationally if they are successful at pushing one of their favored sons through the presidential primaries.

Meanwhile the Koch family continue their rebranding tour, carefully plugging the holes from sunshine while spending millions so that they can keep enlarging their profit by poisoning Americans without the nasty repercussions that come from government regulations, like $20 million dollars they had to pay for covering up environmental violations at their refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas.

And it’s not just “tree huggers” who care. What the Kochs and their allies are doing is killing people. Bloomberg blew the lid off of their propaganda routine:

Bloomberg revealed the deaths, bribes, felony charges, envelopes stuffed with cash, criminal violations, deliberate poisoning of the air with cancerous smoke, and hundreds of millions of fines behind the Koch Brothers. They revealed that employees are taught to cheat and steal under “The Koch Method.” Oh, and the Kochs sold millions of dollars in petrochemical equipment to Iran, a country recognized for sponsoring terrorism but also one of three countries in the George W Bush identified “Axis of Evil.”

These are the people who are buying our government via the Republican Party. When you vote for Governors Scott Walker and Mike Pence and Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio, you are voting to deregulate the Koch brothers so they can make even more money without having to worry about pesky fines from killing innocent people. Or, as the Koch brothers like to label it, “freedom”.
