McCain offered up his standard defense of Palin, but when he was asked if he thought that she should run for president, he changed his tune. McCain said, “I think that she ought to do whatever she feels that she’d like to do. I’m very supportive of anything that she does. Obviously, Sen. Lindsey Graham is the person I’m supporting, but I wish her every success.”

McCain said that Palin could be an asset in 2016 because she still has a base of support and a degree of popularity.

John McCain’s lack of enthusiasm for a Palin candidacy was obvious. Sen. McCain will always be saddled with the legacy of unleashing the Palin plague on our body politic. McCain should never be forgiven for his reckless lack of judgement in appointing a person who not fit to be the vice president. McCain should be asked in every interview he ever gives until the day he dies why he chose Palin. He has never been held accountable for his actions in 2008.

The fact that Sen. McCain has finally bailed on Sarah Palin’s future means that even he believes that she is never running for office. John McCain still defends the invasion of Iraq, but even he isn’t buying the idea that Sarah Palin has a political future. If Palin ever would run for president, she won’t even get the endorsement of the man who chose her to be his running mate.

John McCain finally gets it, so when will the media stop pretending that there is any chance that Palin will run for president. Sarah Palin has shown no desire to do anything, but extend her fifteen minutes of fame. John McCain would rather support his mini-me in Lindsey Graham than attach himself to the burning tire fire that is Sarah Palin.

The media needs to stop pushing the myth of Sarah Palin.
