With the revelation that Donald Trump’s old tax returns reveal that he paid nothing in income taxes, Republicans may have lost the 2016 election by nominating the one candidate who has never paid his fair share.

The Washington Post reported:

The last time Donald Trump’s income-tax returns were made public, the bottom line was striking: He had paid the federal government $0 in income taxes.

The disclosure, in a 1981 report by New Jersey gambling regulators, revealed that the wealthy Manhattan investor had for at least two years in the late 1970s taken advantage of a tax-code provision popular with developers that allowed him to report negative income.

Being that the gap between rich and non-rich has only grown since the last time anyone saw Trump’s tax returns, and Republicans have spent decades protecting the wealthy from paying their fair share.

It is common sense that the reason why Trump is refusing to release his tax returns is that he pays zero or an absurdly low amount of income taxes.

Little by little, Trump’s secret is coming out. Once the secret is fully exposed, it will be devastating to the Republican Party’s chances of winning the White House. Mitt Romney stalled on releasing his returns in 2012 because they revealed a Republican nominee who wasn’t paying his fair share of taxes. Donald Trump’s tax returns will be worse than Romney’s.

The Democratic campaign ads write themselves. Hard working Americans are subsidizing Donald Trump. It is not fair that the rest of us pay income taxes while Donald Trump pays nothing. What does Trump know about helping workers? He doesn’t even pay taxes. Republicans attached themselves to Trump without doing their homework. They were suckered by the salesman and ignored the ugly reality of what having Donald Trump representing their party really means.

Voters are angry about income inequality and the lack of fairness in the tax system. Donald Trump is everything that they hate, and when the whole truth finally is revealed, Republicans will pay dearly for their Trump mistake.
