Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is running away from Donald Trump like his hair is on fire after the Republican presidential nominee attacked the Gold Star Khan family.
Trump remains clueless about the fact that families who have lost their loved ones in service to their country are off limits:
I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention. Am I not allowed to respond? Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me!

Republicans have entered the third day of Trump digging the hole deeper, and they starting to run away from their own nominee.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) put out a statement that praised the Khan family, disagreed with Trump, and disavowed Trump’s proposed Muslim ban.

Once again, the Republican Party finds themselves trying to put out another fire that Donald Trump’s constantly open mouth has caused. The GOP should be focused on trying to win back the White House. Instead, they are being absorbed into Trump’s world of egomaniacal drama.
Every time Trump causes another scandal that dominates the headlines, he pushes the GOP closer to defeat in November.
It is one thing for a party to choose a bad nominee, but Trump is something different. He is a completely unstable and unfit mess of human being who has the potential to go down in flames and take the Republican Party with him.
If the current trajectory continues, by October, Republicans will be pretending that Donald Trump doesn’t exist.
