This is what the Republican Party has come to. They chose a conspiracy artist named Donald Trump to be their presidential nominee and this man, when he wasn’t hosting a third rate reality TV show big in flyover country, was a prominent pusher of the fake “birther” conspiracy, which accused sitting President Barack Obama of being illegitimate.
The birther conspiracy contented that Obama was ineligible to be President of the United States because he was born in Kenya. The fringe people behind the birther movement were subtly and not so subtly encouraged by some elected Republicans, who expressed skepticism about the President’s citizenship.
So it’s very fitting that evidence has surfaced that Donald Trump is possibly illegitimate, courtesy of the Russians.

But then, this kind of scenario is why parties that don’t need to rely on a foreign power to win elections kick their extremists to the edge and don’t give them the reigns of power.
Donald Trump was told about the Russian interference before the election in intel meetings, but when Hillary Clinton brought the issue up during the 3rd and last debate, Trump acted like it wasn’t real. He knew better, because he had been told that the intelligence agencies determined that the Russian’s were involved in the hacking.
The question is did Trump know anything else. It’s bizarre that with all of the Russian smoke surrounding Trump’s campaign, including Manafort’s Russian connections, that Trump continues to choose Russian stooges for major appointments. It’s almost as if he’s either got to chose these people or he’s waving a red flag so obvious that he must be sorely disappointed it took this long for anyone to acknowledge the fire.
Either way, Donald Trump will most likely end up as the man helped to the White House by the Russians, and that will make him the illegitimate president for real.
… A fitting smear for the man who carried the birther conspiracy way past it’s due date, long after the birth certificate was shared to put an end to an already clearly racist theory.
