Top House Democrat Accuses FBI Director James Comey Of Withholding Info From Congress

According to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), FBI Director James Comey is withholding information from Congress about the investigations into Donald Trump and Russia.

Video of Schiff press conference:

After Director Comey had briefed the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Schiff said, “I would say at this point we know less than a fraction of what the FBI knows. I appreciate we had a long briefing and testimony from the director today, but in order for us to do our investigation in a thorough and credible way, we’re gonna need the FBI to fully cooperate, to be willing to tell us the length and breadth of any counterintelligence investigations they are conducting. At this point, the director was not willing to do that.”

The top-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee is calling out the FBI Director for preventing the committee from doing a full investigation by withholding information.

Schiff’s accusation is a bombshell that feeds into everything that Democrats have believed about Comey going back to the 2016 election. If the FBI Director is withholding information, he is not only helping to cover up a crime. He is also enabling the destruction of US democracy.

Should Rep. Schiff be correct, Comey is a big part of the problem, and if real answers are ever going to be made public about the Trump/Russia relationship, just like Jeff Sessions, James Comey will also need to be shown the door.
