In Defense of Trump, Mike Huckabee Says You Can’t ‘Kiss a Woman Leaning Away From You’

Who needs Bill O’Reilly when you have former Arkansas Governor and awful human being Mike Huckabee, who appeared on O’Reilly’s old show, now just called “The Factor”?

Huckabee, who as governor once pushed hard for the early release of a serial rapist who then went on to rape and murder other women, then rubbed salt on a raw wound by claiming that “You can’t kiss a woman leaning away from you.”

In a monumental understatement, The Hill called this “an ill-timed analogy,” coming as it did just a few hours after Bill O’Reilly’s exit from Fox News.

Huckabee’s comment came in the midst of a discussion about journalism and the press’ alleged ill-treatment of the guy who said he likes to “grab ’em by the p*ssy,” Donald Trump, making his ill-timed observation about kissing women on the show whose former host lost his job for trying to kiss women who didn’t want to be kissed:

“There’s three things you can’t do. You can’t spit into the wind, you can’t climb a ladder leaning toward you or kiss a woman leaning away from you. Add one more to the list if you’re Donald Trump: You can’t get a fair shake from the media, and he hasn’t and he probably isn’t going to.”

Host Dana Perino, of course, lets the moment pass with a plastic Fox smile, but of all the stupid, gawdawful things a guest could have said on Fox News last night, let alone O’Reilly’s former show, Huckabee takes the prize.

There are so many levels of wrongness to Huckabee’s words:

Yes, he released a serial rapist to rape again and then on the show of a guy fired for sexual harassment and in defense of a guy who has bragged about sexually assaulting women, said that you can’t kiss a woman leaning away from you.

It is difficult to imagine they could have found anyone worse for the Fox image right now than Mike Huckabee.

This is also the guy, of course, who once said that the Iran Nuclear Deal “is marching the Israelis to the door of the oven.”

Yes, he has a way with words. They’re just very stupid words, horrific words. Which is no doubt why tone-deaf Fox News keeps asking him back.
