Trump has fired many people in the few months he’s been in office. He had to fire his NSA after the press got wind that Flynn was talking to the Russians a lot and lied about it. Turns out, Trump’s National Security Adviser was compromised by the Russians – a fact Comey was investigating.
Trump fired his Acting attorney general after she warned his White House that his NSA was compromised by Russia. Then Trump fired FBI director Comey.
Now Donald Trump will appoint the person who will investigate him about Russia and a Republican Congress will confirm this person.
To suggest there’s no cover up here is to be blind to the facts. Trump shouldn’t be allowed to fire the person who’s investigating him. It doesn’t just reek of a cover up; it’s shrieking of a cover up.
Nixon had to go through three AGs to fire the man investigating Watergate. POTUS should not be allowed to fire the man investigating him.

Right. This shouldn’t be allowed to happen, but it will. Republicans haven’t an ounce of patriotism or courage om this issue, and they will roll over and gleefully help Trump appoint someone who will look the other way.
