Sen. Al Franken stated for the first time that he sent a letter to the FBI asking them to investigate Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Now, we have two of the letters.
Here is Franken’s letter:
Franken told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, “In fact, Sen. Leahy whose also on the Judiciary Committee and I sent a private letter to then-CIA Director Comey, sorry, FBI Director Comey asking him and the FBI to investigate whether, in fact, Sessions had met other times with Russians including this meeting we’re talking about in The Mayflower.â€

Franken has written to the FBI three times, and in the letters, he calls Sessions’ testimony false. Sen. Franken, it appears, believes that the Attorney General of The United States committed perjury. The head of the Department of Justice is accused of lying under oath by a United States Senator.
These facts shouldn’t be swept under the rug.
In the many threads of Trump’s Russia scandal, the role of Jeff Sessions has been underreported. Along as Sessions heading the DOJ, it will be impossible for investigations to remain untainted. Jeff Sessions has got to go, and Sen. Al Franken is doing everything he can to get to the bottom of the Attorney General’s lies.
