FBI Director James Comey called President Trump’s threat that he better hope there are no tapes by saying, “I’ve seen the tweet about tapes. Lordy! I hope there are tapes.”

President Trump threatened Comey with tapes, “James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”

Comey said after Trump threatened him with tapes, it occurred to him that he needed to get his memos out into the public.
So far, Comey’s testimony is the Republicans’ worst nightmare. Comey comes across as honest, caring about the government, and very married to his independence of any president. He stood by the way he handled the Clinton emails, which only lends more credence to his damning testimony.
President Trump could easily disprove Comey’s testimony by releasing his tapes, if in fact it’s not true.
Comey’s testimony has been hard to poke holes in, he’s a former prosecutor who came prepared. In fact, Comey was prepared for Trump from day one and Trump didn’t see him coming.
