The White House is refusing to let the press cover Donald Trump’s first fundraiser for his 2020 reelection campaign which is to be held at his Washington, DC hotel and expected to raise $10 million.
Dan Diamond of CNN reported:
White House reneging on allowing press coverage of Trump's fundraiser speech tonight, citing "logistical" issues.

As NPR noted, Trump has a history of personally profiting off of his political activities, “In total, $1 out of every $10 that went into his presidential campaign went back to Trump in some way, and $1 out of every $5 Trump donated found its way back Trump brands and properties.”
If the Trump fundraiser was above board, there is no reason to prevent the media from covering the event.
What Trump is trying to hide is that instead of draining the swamp, this president has filled and expanded it.
As DNC Deputy Communications Director Adrienne Watson said:
Trump isn’t draining the swamp, just like any third world authoritarian, he is using the swamp for personal financial gain. Trump can try to hide from the press, but eventually, the truth will be revealed.
