When asked by Fox’s Bill Hemmer did the Vice President ever meet with representatives from Russia during the campaign, Pence spokesman Marc Lotter answered, “The Vice President is not focused on things that happened during the campaign, especially things that happened before he was even on the ticket.”
Hemmer asked if Pence ever met with representatives of the Russian government, and was met with more stonewalling, “That’s stuff that the special prosecutors and counsels are all looking at. I can tell you that in all my time with the Vice President, I knew that he was focused entirely on talking to the American people.”
Bill Hemmer asked for a simple yes or no answer on Pence meeting with Russians, and Lotter didn’t answer the questions.
If the answer is no on whether or not Pence met with Russians, it is an easy question to answer. The fact that Pence’s spokesperson wouldn’t answer the question suggests that he doesn’t know if Pence met with Russian government officials or representatives. If the answer is no, you say no. It’s not hard. What is difficult is when the answer is maybe. The fact that Mike Pence’s own spokesperson can’t say that Pence didn’t meet with any Russians is a big red flag that points to Pence not being clean on the Russia scandal.
Republicans who are hoping for Mike Pence to come and save them may be in for some major disappointment as Pence may go down with Trump for the Russia scandal.
