Donald Trump has had historically low approval ratings since day one of his presidency, but Monday marked a new low for the unpopular president as his favorite poll showed his numbers continue to crater.
According to a Rasmussen Reports survey released today, Trump’s approval rating stands at a dismal 39 percent – the first time it’s fallen below 40 in this Trump-leaning poll.
More from Rasmussen reports:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Sixty-one percent (61%) disapprove.
The latest figures for Trump include 26% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 49% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -23. (see trends).
The latest findings mark the first time Trump’s overall approval rating has slipped below 40% in Rasmussen Reports tracking.
Not only are Trump’s numbers continuing to fall, even with his favorite pollster, but the passion and energy are clearly with his opposition as those who feel the strongest are those who believe the president is doing a bad job.
According to RealClearPolitics, Trump’s approval rating clocks in at a dismal average of 39.2 percent – and continuing to tick further and further down as chaos and scandal continues to bury this White House.
Just today, Trump fired White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci before he even officially started doing the job.
Rasmussen has long shown the president’s approval numbers higher than other polling firms, but it now appears that not even the right-leaning pollster can mask the unmitigated disaster that Donald Trump has been.
