Trump won’t fight to keep an Obama era rule that got 4 million workers in the service sector of the economy the overtime pay that they earned, which means that the President has slashed wages for millions of workers.
Chris Opfer of Bloomberg BNA reported:
Obama rule: Anyone who makes less than $47k automatically eligible for overtime pay. Current rule (W. Bush): $23.5k. https://t.co/pTk9FgGFSK

The Trump DOJ decided not to appeal the ruling of the federal court judge in Texas because they were satisfied with 4 million workers no longer getting the overtime pay that they had worked for. The Obama overtime rule provided protections to workers who were listed in bogus salaried positions in the service, retail, and other sectors of the economy as a way to avoid having to pay employees overtime. President Obama raised wages for 4.2 million workers with his rule. Donald Trump will slice those wages so that the money can go back into the hands of corporations.
The proof that Trump is not a friend to US workers can be seen in the small decisions that his administration. Trump is a president for the wealthy and corporations. Workers are going to struggle more under this president, as the labor market is tight, wages are low, and the number of new jobs being added is declining.
Donald Trump just made it much more difficult for millions of struggling American workers to keep the lights on and food on the table.
