Senate Democratic Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was caught on an open microphone on the Senate floor telling Mitch McConnell how much Trump liked him, and how he told the President that he could benefit by taking a step to the left.
Here is the audio:
Schumer was overheard telling someone, “He likes us. He likes me anyway….Here’s what I told him, I said, ‘Mr. President, you’re much better off if you can sometimes step right and sometimes step left. If you have to step in just one direction, you’re boxed.’ He gets that.”

The Democratic Minority Leader of the Senate is telling the Republican Senate Majority Leader what he advised the Republican President Of The United States to do. What makes this conversation all the more fascinating is that Trump and McConnell have a well documented stormy relationship that has involved profanity laced phone calls and screaming at each other.
Mitch McConnell is being put in his place, as it is clear that Schumer has Trump’s ear.
McConnell is supposed to be the man in charge of the Senate, but thanks to Trump, and some masterful exploitation of some inter-Republican Party warfare, it is Chuck Schumer who has influence.
