Obamacare Repeal Gets Worse As Republicans Move To Take Coverage Away From Kids And The Disabled

Obamacare repeal 3.0 isn’t limited to kicking 32 million people off of their health insurance and raising premiums for preexisting conditions. The bill also would take healthcare away from children, veterans, seniors, and the disabled.

The Center For American Progress noted that the CHIP program could run out of money because Republicans are focused on Obamacare repeal, “Just days ago, key Senate leaders reached a bipartisan agreement on extending CHIP funding for five years. But the Senate’s new pivot back to a partisan ACA repeal bill jeopardizes the prospects of passing a CHIP extension in time. As the clock is ticking on CHIP, Congress is using precious time trying to take health care away from even more families, including through dismantling Medicaid, which covers more than 30 million children. Given that, together, Medicaid and CHIP have been central in historic gains in children’s health care coverage, this is a one-two punch of taking away health coverage for kids.”

According to VoteVets, millions of veterans will lose their healthcare under Graham-Cassidy:

The latest Republican attempt to repeal Obamacare is even worse than their previous two. By block granting the program, Republicans are locking in devastating cuts to health care while rewarding incompetent states which cover fewer people or give those in need less coverage.

This legislation is horrifyingly bad, and what’s worse is that is within one vote of passing the Senate.

Make your voice heard, and stop this legislation dead in its tracks.
