Special Counsel Robert Mueller is focused on Trump’s potential obstruction of justice as former Press Secretary Sean Spicer was grilled about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.
Politico reported, “During his sitdown, Spicer was grilled about the firing of former FBI director James Comey and his statements regarding the firing, as well as about Trump’s meetings with Russians officials including one with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Oval Office, one person familiar with the meeting said.”
Mueller is clearly looking at obstruction of justice, and he is interested in Trump’s statements and most likely the detailed diaries that Spicer kept as White House press secretary. Sean Spicer has been toxic since getting the boot from the White House. Unlike previous White House press secretaries, the news networks, both cable and basic, have no interest in Spicer.
The former press secretary has shown no signs of turning on Trump but has also given no clear indication that he will not cooperate with the Special Counsel. The investigation has made it into the White House. Trump is running out of space. The walls are closing in on him. The President can shout fake news all day long, but the special counsel is coming for him, as he is getting closer to being held accountable for his potential crimes.
