A handwritten amendment to the Republican tax cut bill was unable to be put into the record because no one on the Senate floor could read it.
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) tweeted:
Senate Republicans can’t put their own scribbled amendment into the record because nobody can read it. This is what we’re voting on. #Page257 pic.twitter.com/SoEo4TvfBc

I just tried to enter this page into the record so the American people know the kind of stunts @SenateGOP is pulling to pass their tax scam. But they wouldn’t take it. Why? Because NOBODY can read it. #Page257 https://t.co/AFw6bza3fd

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) tweeted a page of the bill that is being edited on the fly in pen on the Senate floor:

WHY AM I ASKING THESE QUESTIONS HOURS BEFORE WE VOTE ON IT?? #GOPTaxScam pic.twitter.com/57Qbi7gT5F— Senator Bob Menendez (@SenatorMenendez) December 1, 2017
