Fox News Desperately Tries To Protect Accused Child Sexual Assaulter Roy Moore with Fake Claim of “Forgery”

Partisan Fox News is so desperate to help Republicans keep the Alabama Senate seat that they are inventing lies to protect accused child sexual assaulter Roy Moore, who is running against Democrat Doug Jones.

After Roy Moore accuser Beverly Nelson told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday that she added the date and place to what she says is Moore’s inscription in her high school yearbook, Fox News ran a headline so egregiously desperate and misleading that it’s eclipses partisanship and tips into lie territory by claiming that one of the many accusers of Republican Roy Moore “admits she forged part of yearbook inscription attributed to Alabama senate candidate.”

Fox News took this further than just a very misleading headline. The opening paragraph reads, “One of the women who accused Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of making advances on her when she was a teen and he a local prosecutor admitted Friday to writing part of the yearbook inscription she offered as proof.”

At a press conference with her attorney Gloria Allred in November, Beverly Young Nelson – CNN wrote it thusly, “said Moore wrote an inscription in her yearbook one day in December 1977 that said, ‘To a sweeter more beautiful girl, I could not say, ‘Merry Christmas.’ She said he signed it ‘Roy Moore, D.A.’

“She said that one evening he offered her a ride home. Instead of taking her home, Nelson said Moore pulled his car behind the restaurant and began to attack her.
“Mr. Moore reached over and began groping me and putting his hands on my breasts,” Nelson said.

“She said she tried to open the car door to leave, but Moore locked it and continued to grab her.

“‘He began squeezing my neck, attempting to force my head onto his crotch. I
continued to struggle,’ Nelson said. ‘I thought that he was going to rape me.'”

I’ve included the exact way it was reported by CNN to demonstrate that Nelson’s claims never hinged on Moore having written every part of the yearbook inscription.

While I’ve wondered why Nelson voted sexual assaulter Donald Trump, she is not the first or only woman who says she’s been sexually assaulted by a different man who supports admitted serial sexual assaulter Donald Trump. There is some lack of logic and or compassion there, but it doesn’t impact her claims about Roy Moore.

There are also at least five other women who came forward against Roy Moore, some of whom said he sexually molested them as teenage girls and there is a report (unverified by the mall as it does not have records that go back that far according to Snopes) that he was banned from a local mall for behavior toward the young women who worked there.

The critical part of Nelson’s claim is that Republican Roy Moore physically assaulted her sexually when she was underage.

Allred has called a press conference for Friday afternoon to reveal more evidence that she says backs up Nelson’s claims against Roy Moore.

Nelson did not admit to forging anything. It is unclear at this point when she added the inscription regarding the date and place underneath what she says is Roy Moore’s signature.

The picture used for this article was submitted in November along with Nelson’s claims, and clearly the handwriting for the date and place is different and was not intended to look like the signature handwriting. Fox News’ forgery claim is a very desperate attempt to muddy the waters to help Roy Moore.
