At a news conference calling for an investigation of Trump for sexual misconduct, Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL) offered a chilly one-word answer of yes when she was asked if the allegations against Trump were something they could investigate if Democrats won back the House.

During the news conference, the Democratic women said that Republicans already estabilished the precedent for investigating a president for sexual misconduct when they impeached Bill Clinton, and that under House Rule 10, they have the power to investigate the President for anything.

If Democrats take back the House, Trump’s firewall of protection on Russia, his conflicts of interest, Emoluments Clause violations, and the allegations of sexual assault will all be gone. Trump doesn’t seem to understand how much protection he is getting from House and Senate Republicans. If that Republican majority vanishes, it is going to be open season on investigating this president.
The collusion with Russia may have put him into office, but it could be a sexual assault investigation that takes him out.
