Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) demanded that President Obama is investigated in the Russia scandal because he is the one who was behind the conspiracy to get Donald Trump.

After putting up a cherry-picked text from FBI agents in classic Fox News fashion, Steve Doocy asked Gohmert, “What does that mean to you?”

Gohmert answered, “Well, you know, it means the president wants to know what they’re doing to stop Trump because that’s clearly from all the other text messages, that’s what they were working on that’s what they cared about and so you know we need to find out. We can’t be like the FISA court. We’ve gotta find out, actually have the facts. We need to get to the bottom of this and find what the president knew and when he knew it.
House Republicans want to investigate Obama
For a decade now, when Republicans are in trouble and spinning their wheels their go-to move has been to blame Obama.

Republicans have been trying to find a scandal connected to Obama for decades. Fast and Furious, the IRS scandal, Benghazi, these were all versions of the same Obama conspiracy theory. Obama was un-American, out to get Republicans, and engaging in massive cover-ups. There were no facts to support any of these claims, which just like the current call for Obama investigation were driven by Fox News, but that hasn’t stopped Republicans from wasting taxpayer money trying.
Mueller is closing in on Trump, so it is time to play the Obama card
House Republicans have nothing. The Nunes memo was a bust, so it is time for them to try to distract the country and get media attention by adding an Obama wrinkle to the conspiracy. Robert Mueller is getting closer to Trump each day. The Russia scandal is bound to explode and dominate national news. Republicans are trying to deflect by adding Obama to their story.
It’s not going to work.
Trump’s entire adult life has been a walking scandal. The American people can’t and don’t buy that the popular and squeaky clean ex-president was plotting against Trump.
Take a deep breath, and you smell the Republican desperation.
