Trump Offers Campaign Merchandise Discount Instead Of Honoring The Fallen On Veterans Day

Donald Trump blew off an paying respects to the WWI fallen in France. He won’t be visiting Arlington Cemetery, but he is offering veterans a 40% discount on campaign merchandise at his online store.

Sam Stein tweeted:

Trump refused to go to Aisne-Marne American Cemetery on Saturday because it was raining and he would have to take a car. The president wanted to take Marine One, and when he found out that he couldn’t due to rain, he refused to go, and instead stayed in his hotel room and watched television.

Donald Trump did show up to an event on Sunday, where he whined about World War II veterans being provided shelter from the rain, but he was not.

Trump won’t be going to Arlington to pay his respects, but he has shown where his real priorities are by trying to use Veterans Day to get his fans to buy more made in China Trump junk.

One of the biggest jokes of this administration is a claim that Trump cares about veterans. As of publication time for this piece, the Trump administration is still trying to privatize the VA. Veterans have been waiting for months for their GI Bill benefits, and military families continue to struggle to make ends meet every single day.

Donald Trump showed what he thinks of vets while he was in France, and a 40% discount a campaign store is no substitute for having a president who cares about people.
