Hillary Clinton Paints Obama as a Weak Complainer

ImageThis morning on ABC’s Good Morning America, Hillary Clinton inferred that her opponent Barack Obama isn’t tough enough to be president, because he complained about the questions in Wednesday night’s debate.

“Can I say that I’ve been through, what, 23 of these debates? And as I recall, I was asked some pretty tough questions in nearly every one of them. That goes with the territory. Having been inside the White House, I know the pressures inside the White House; I know how hard it is every single day. When the going gets tough you can’t run away,” Clnton said.

She went out to portray herself as someone who is tough enough to handle the nation’s problems, “And it’s going to be tough going to deal with these hard problems; getting out of Iraq in the right way, turning the economy around, getting universal health care, ending our dependence on foreign oil. The special interests are going to be a lot tougher than 90 minutes of questions from two journalists and we need a president who is going to be up there fighting everyday for the American people and not complain about how much pressure there is, and how hard the questions are.”

Hillary Clinton must have some kind of short term memory problem, because it was only last winter when the entire Clinton campaign was whining and crying about how unfair every debate was to her. They were complaining daily that she got all the hard questions. The reality is that the ABC sucked for both candidates. The Obama people do need to stop complaining. It does look unpresidential.

ABC and their quest to demean national politics are to blame for that wretched display of a debate. The reality is that after every debate, every candidate complains. The sleazy aspect here is that Hillary Clinton acting as if the questions were fine. If both candidates were upset about the questions, they could have said something during the debate. There have been times during debates, in this campaign, when entire stages of candidates came together and refused to answer stupid questions.

In case you didn’t notice, Clinton is once again trying to dredge up the experience argument that has failed her so miserably so often. Hillary has nothing left to run on, so she is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this debate questions thing. Clinton has gotten to a point where she is only hurting herself and the party with these attacks. She needs to realize this and try to run a clean final leg of the campaign.
