That is, not to allow ANYONE to go over time. That’s why Franken made the gesture he did, as if to say, “It’s out of my hands, sorry.” What is correct is that John McCain is a hypocritical lying sack of shit for saying it’s never been done before. He himself has done so, and without the good rationale and cover that Franken had.

Mark my words, if we participate in making this event one that is Franken vs. Lieberman, as much as we enjoyed the symbolism of the exchange, it will haunt the liberal cause for decades. The right is already using it against us.

So please don’t be clueless kneejerks.
