On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh responded to getting called out by Jay-Z on his recently leaked track Off That. Jay-Z told Rush to get off his balls, but Rush turned this into an attack on Obama. He said, “If we need to save our penises from anybody, it’s Obama.”I don’t think Limbaugh realized that he was dissed.

The Jay-Z lyric is talking about the racism of Limbaugh and O’Reilly, “This ain’t black vs. white, my n—a, we off that. Please tell Bill O’Reilly to fall back. Tell Rush Limbaugh to get off my balls. It’s 2010, not 1864. We come so far…How’s that for a mix? Got a black president, got green presidents.”

Limbaugh seemed proud to be called a racist in the song, “I have mentioned in a rap song by the rapper Jay-Z…mentions me and the moderate Bill O’Reilly…As far as I know I have never been mentioned in a rap song by anybody. I guess that means I’ve made it.”

He then turned this into an attack on Obama, “I would remind the rapper Jay-Z, Mr. Z it is President Obama wants mandate circumcision. We had that yesterday, and that means that if we need to save our penises from anybody, it’s Obama. I did not know I was on anybody’s balls either. I am happy to know that they think I am though. I didn’t actually know that I was.”

Rush is way out of his element here. I don’t even want to think about Rush Limbaugh and balls. I don’t think Rush understood but, Jay-Z was calling him and Bill-O a bunch of racists. I don’t think he got the reference to 1864. To me this serves as an example of the age gap between the two parties. Jay-Z is no young pup himself, he is around 40 years old, but there is something surreal and hysterical about listening to old man Limbaugh try to reply to the rapper’s lyrics.

What Limbaugh’s deal with penises and circumcision, anyway? Why would anybody want to listen to Limbaugh talk about circumcision on the radio, and who in their right mind would use circumcision as an issue to attack with Obama with? This whole thing is pretty weird.

I think it serves as a microcosm of the current state of our political dialogue. The scared white, male, out of touch minority, like Limbaugh, don’t get it. Jay-Z was rapping about progress, and Rush was talking about circumcision, enough said
