With 84% of "working Americans" saying they are happy with their current H/C, who cares what a liberal poll of freeloaders want? Bottom line is when the people discover exactly what the public "option" truly is, they dont want it. It's sad to see the people ignored whne they inform themselves to the scam being perpetuated against them., and say they dont want ANY form of gov't run H/S.
I say "propaganda " because thats all it is, just like Obama lying about his childs illness and being denied H/C, just like the lies on transparency in todays gov't , when they were just sued again for the visitors list to the W/H ,and the admin refused to release it ,alohough this is against the law and the judges ruling. Informed citizens do NOT want gov't run H/C and that is Steele's point here, period.

The misleading information on H/C reform has been coming from the folks who profit handsomely from our present system, the insurance industry. I'd hope that "anonymous" gets some compensation for carrying their water too. The people who fear universal coverage have been lied to about waiting lists, rationing and costs; of course they want to keep what they have.

Newsflash: those 84% may not realize it, but they don't actually HAVE insurance. To "insure" means to guarantee, to promise..a policy that can be snatched away for the offense of using it, for losing or changing jobs, for failing to disclose teenage acne, this is not insurance. It's a scam. Health care can't be run like a market because it's not a commodity; purchasing and comparisons are way too complicated and obscure; human desperation invites greed on the part of the provider (not most doctors mind you); the need is inflexible, yet universal. We wouldn't deny a citizen with a burning house a firetruck because his credit card wouldn't cover it! That's why we socialize fire, police, trash pickup, sewage disposal, highway construction, air traffic regulation...we pool our resources, get the cost savings of bulk purchase, and coordinate nationwide for safety and convenience.

But not health care! By gosh, if you want health, you'd better figure out how to pay for it (whatever the market demands)! The poor don't deserve healthy lives, preventative medicine, on and on. Immediate savings: the 30% of your insurance dollar that goes to "overhead" (medicare needs about 3%). The 15% your doc spends on extra staff to manage claims. That's pretty good for starters.
The best care I've had was in Europe (France mostly), quick, advanced, thorough, w/ great follow-up. So don't tell me more lies about single-payer. They are hokum and they are killing us.
