Ann Romney Melts Down and Tells the GOP They are Lucky To Have Mitt
more from Jason Easley and Sarah Jones
In a full blown meltdown, Ann Romney lashed out the Republican Party and told them that they were lucky to have her husband as their nominee.
In an interview with Radio Iowa, Ann Romney took a blowtorch and burned all the Romney bridges with GOP.
Mrs. Romney explained how “hard” campaigning was for her, “If you love someone, you see them maligned, attacked, all these things that happen in a campaign, you get very defensive.”
In other words, stop maligning Mitt Romney with his own words! Also, Mitt may call you victims, but you may not repeat what Mitt said. Got it?
Speaking of 2008, Ann spoke of how she “suffered” so very, very much and never wanted to do it again. She even made a video about how much she didn’t want to do it. And yet, she is not letting this affect her. And they are “going forward” with his campaign.
Ann Romney then launched into an attack on the Republican Party, “Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard and, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”
This is now total inter party warfare between the GOP and the Romneys. Ann Romney provided proof that the pressure has gotten to the Romney campaign, and they are cracking up. Let’s look at the lay of the land. Mitt Romney followed up his Libya debacle by calling half of America victims. Ann Romney then decided to tell her own party that it really hard to run for president.
What Ann Romney doesn’t seem to get is the Republicans that she derisively labeled as the “chattering class” are Republicans who have participated in winning presidential campaigns. People like Peggy Noonan and Mark McKinnon know what they are talking about, so when they tell Mitt and Ann Romney they are blowing it, it would be wise to listen up.
That’s the thing that this campaign has revealed about the Romneys. They aren’t wise. They are ambitious, reckless, narrow minded, out of touch, selfish, entitled, arrogant, uncaring, and a million other adjectives, but their biggest problem is that they aren’t smart.
Ann and Mitt Romney are living proof that money can’t buy intelligence. To the Romneys, the Republican Party is nothing but the help. Republicans need to keep their mouths shut and elect Mitt so that he can run the country.
Notice, Ann Romney didn’t say that her husband would serve the country. You people serve the Romneys. The Romney don’t serve anyone.
The Republican Party is lucky to have a nominee whose campaign is so incompetent that it may cost them a chance to retake the Senate, and their House majority.
It’s not like any other Republican could have stepped up to the plate and served as President Obama’s weak kneed punching bag for the last four months.
The Romney campaign is melting down before our very eyes, and Ann Romney’s channeling of Leona Helmsley is the cherry on top.

Aww, the woman who went through at least one other presidential campaign AND a run for governor didn’t know that ‘campaigning is hard’ and that people might say bad things about her husband. Then apparently she’s got one helluva bad learning curve.
Sorry, after what has been said about Obama for the last 3+ years, can’t muster up much sympathy for Ann Romney.
No, there’s not a line for presidency, Ann, and it wasn’t ‘your turn’. To get it, they gotta WIN the election. And your husband’s biggest enemy is his own mouth. Not the media’s fault that Mitt could hang himself on his own tongue.

I can’t help but have a little sympathy for her. She IS married to Mittens. I do sympathize with her disease and the constant pressure she must be under, and the fact that it obviously means nothing to her husband and his use of her in his pursuit of power. Plus, you know, having to defend the shambles that his campaign has become. That being said, I do not appreciate her haughty attitude, nor her obvious arrogance i.e. “you people” “those people” “we deserve” etc. etc.

The campaign is definitey not being managed well and is splintering. However, imagine trying to coordinate and keep happy the Tea Party extremists, the Republican Party, the special interests and Romney. It really is a mess. What happens when you are not genuine. However, in all fairness the 47% remark was made in May, the leaking of the tape was after the Libya debacle. The handling of the tape was not good. Once again, think before speaking. Hard to imagine running for any office, on this ticket. They may want to blame Romney but he’s but a small part of their problem. The Tea Party/Republican Party have a huge problem, they are out of touch and have only talking points to run on. They are running amok.
Alexander Fancher
Sep. 20th, 2012 at 11:53 pm
“The handling of the tape was not good. Once again, think before speaking.”
The Romney Campaign should have known about the fundraiser video on August 24. Several short clips from the fundraiser including the barbed wire factory keeping the volunteer workers out and 47% victims clip were linked to by a number of sites. Rachael Maddow tweeted the link that day. Maddow stated she was not responsible for it although it was posted under her name.
The Romney campaign apparently does not monitor any of numerous websites where links were posted or commented on. They also apparently don’t monitor Rachael Maddow’s Twitter feed.
Maybe the Romney Campaign missed NINE diaries each with a different clip from the fundraiser posted at Daily Kos on September 10. Apparently thy don’t monitor what is posted there either.
Whatever the reason, the failure to handle the release of this video in a competent fashion was due to their own incompetence. Either they were surprised, or they knew in advance and their response was the best they could do.
I am still waiting for the media to ask the Romney campaign some questions about this. I suspect the realization that this video was coming may have contributed to the campaign infighting reported by the media shortly before the fundraiser video really went viral for the third time. In any case, Mitt even now thinks the only problem with what he said at the fundraiser was that it was recorded and then made public.

That’s it, in a nutshell. A tiger by the tail, a runaway horse with buggy attached, and now the inmates are in charge and running the asylum…..any or all of the above cliches apply, and who’s is the first house that burns, when a “child” plays with fire? The Republicans have NO one to blame but themselves. Unfortunately, those fires often take out whole neighborhoods or countrysides…..or, in this case, as in Hitlerian Germany, nations; before sane but sleeping people wake up and band together to put out the fire and clean up the devastation left in its wake. If it could happen there (and it did…I remember), it could happen here. It’s past time to wake up, America.

“…If you love someone,…”
IF, the big “IF”…she chose her words carefully, didn’t she? This was no Freudian slip.
The words are, “WHEN you love somebody” as in the old song “All the Way”. “If” is tentative, a posit, not a declarative. She dissociated herself.
Secondly, she revealed how “hard” she actually is;

YooTAH as you put it does not want him and neither does Utah. Then again the Romney’s do not live in Utah, they live in Southern California and have their mansion with the “new” car elevator there.
Hmm, perhaps that is why there have been so many small to medium quakes in SoCal recently. The land has decided that it too, no longer wants the Romney’s living there. Perhaps they can move to a quiet island in the South Pacific. I hear that property on the Bikini Atoll is going for bargain basement rates.

Men who batter women, who rape, who abuse their children more often than not start out with cruelty to animals.
Anyone adult who treats their dog the way Mitt did and any wife who allows it are guilty of animal cruelty.
It is an indicator not only of potential criminal behavior but of the LACK OF EMPATHY THAT IS SO INDICATIVE OF MALIGNENT NARCISSIST.

Can someone please inform Mrs. Romney that the President of the United States does not “run” the country?
The United States of America runs on a system of checks and balances, from the federal and state levels to city and other local jurisdictions, with varying viewpoints.
And if Ann’s husband cannot handle a few months of examination before we have to decide whether he should be president, how does she expect him to handle four years if he’s actually elected?

My sentiments exactly…
How can Willard be President if he can’t manage himself in the campaign? The majority of the missteps have been of his own doing that also effects the rest of his party. The GOP has been supporting Willard even though he was not their heartfelt pick. After a while, it’s hard to support someone who is hell bent on destruction at all costs in buying the power of the Presidency because he thinks he deserves it. So far, we still have the power to vote. We can’t allow our democracy to be bought by the highest bidder. The GOP has already ruined several years of the US economy and the middle class. President Obama is not perfect, but he still brings hope and the possibility for change and our value system. Mitt will bring a darkness like we have not even seen the likeness of. It’s a scary thought.

I heard the 47% clip 2 or 3 weeks ago. I was appalled and shared it, but thank God! Carter’s Grandson dealt out some Karma and got the thing some publicity. I love the Carter Family. And, I voted for Jimmie! I didn’t vote for that blowhard Reagan, ever! Now, we must pull out all the stops for the House and Senate contests. We must defeat the Republicans soundly! And, we must do the same for the mid-term elections. By the 2016 election, we must have demolished the Republican Party to such an extent that they cease to exist. I read 2 tea party web sites. They are bad mouthing the Republicans and are talking about forming their own party. Half of them, while they won’t vote for Obama, are refusing to vote for Romney after the 47% comment. The Republicans will cease to exist if the Tea Party splits from them. And, if Boehner, Cantor and those creeps go with the Tea Party when it splits, they will have lost their congressional seats.

The Romneys and their campaign has to be seen to be believed. Honestly, you couldn’t write a more ridiculous presidential campaign if you tried. I thought McCain/Palin was the biggest farce that could be, but this one is beyond the pale. They remind me of someone telling about how he wanted to be a doctor, so he went to medical school and all was well until he interned. That’s when he found out he only wanted to be a doctor, he didn’t really want to do what a doctor does. If the Romneys can’t do what it takes to get to the presidency, how could they ever do what it takes to be the presidency? Now that’s what has got to be HARD.

You know, a few months back there was a video of Mitt chasing down some reporter after some public appearance to argue with him about a question he didn’t like. I thought to myself at the time that this guy isn’t going to make a very good president if he can’t let a question that he doesn’t like go. Can you imagine how Mitt would react if he actually gets what he wants and goes to war with Iran? He would have to be put in the loony bin!

I know we elect a President and not a First Lady (hopefully First Gentleman someday). However, that First Person will have to interact with foreign leaders, the general public, and receive daily criticism. If this is how she’s behaving now, do we want her in such a role? Why is this whole parody reminding me of the scene in Mel Brooks movie “History of the World” where the “pieces” on the human chess board all decide to stop playing, run over and gang-bang the “Queen”–huge pile on while “King Louie” observes, commenting, “It’s good to be King!” then runs over, jumps in the pile…not so good to be Queen, is it Anne?

Poor Ann, she’s experienced a small fraction of the vitriol that the Obamas have had to endure for five years. More proof that the super-wealthy, especially Mormon males, are just not used to (and really don’t like having to submit to) being questioned, challenged, and held accountable for their actions/behavior. People are just supposed to acknowledge their “superiority” and trust in their inherent worthiness to hold office and wield power over us.

Peggy Noonan suggested what Romney needs to do is a have a big election rally in Brooklyn in front of that melting pot of our newest Americans. “Our media lives here, they’ll make it big.” Sure, Fox News is in New York. So is Stewart & Colbert and SNL, and now they won’t have to fill out any expensive travel vouchers to crap on Romney live and in person. “A big, dense city with skyscrapers like canyons, crowds and placards, and yelling.” Yeah, that’s what the Romney campaign needs. People From NEW YORK yelling at him.
Yeah, can you imagine how that would work out?
If once upon a time Nooners knew what she was talking about in regards to getting republicans elected, that talent is gone.

If she and Mittens can’t take the heat from Mittens own words imagine what it will be like if say a leader Of North Korea or Iran says something “Bad” about him. Ann will tell Mittens to “Bomb them ,for talking about my baby like that”
As to her MS, I sometimes wonder about that. I have had two relatives and a close friend die of MS. None of whom had “horse therapy” and she shows no symptoms that one would expect to see. It must be nice to have a $770,000 horse you can write off as a medical nesseity.
Her comments about showing their taxes “Would be giving more ammunition to THOSE PEOPlE” Also say alot about her.
He needs her to tell him if he is doing OK when he speaks !!! Are you kidding me? So, is he running or is she? His mommy at the school play telling her child ” Great job” They are both disgusting. With that whine, I’d bet $10,000.00 that Ann likes her cheeses like she likes her bank accounts, Swiss.

I much rather have an honest President than a lier.Obama has been tell the truth.Walter Frederick Mondale was an honest man, and because of it he lost the election. I hope the voters are wise this time.

Normally I’d tell Ann that if she can’t stand the heat she should stay out of the kitchen, but somehow that just doesn’t fit with her.

I think that something we all learn at some point in our lives is that there are some jobs that we aren’t qualified for. You might even get hired for a job but find that you are unable to fulfill the duties. It’s a shock to some that your employer doesn’t want to lower their standards for you because you can’t live up to their requirements. But as you get older, you realize that it just was not the job for you, and you would never have been happy there.
Ann, honey, you’re not qualified for the job of First Lady. It’s not your fault. Don’t feel bad. It’s something that happens often to people with a disability. They’re smart, they’re pretty, they’re talented, but the fatigue and limitations that come with the illness make it impossible to do the job. Luckily for you, there are other alternatives for you. Be glad that you won’t be First Lady. It would have been unfair to the people and unfair to your family.

You are right ibwilliamwsi. She has Multiple Sclerosis and I do not what type she has but I know if they have rigorous schedule it can be hard on her with this disability it can get a lot worse along with her history of breast cancer its not looking good. I hope she is not using her illness to get sympathy because in the political world she will not get it. She needs to put up her big girl panties and face the good and the bad of politics if she did not know that already!

I love your comments folks! It is a relief to this Canadian to read that there are indeed some intelligent compassionate Americans…too bad you have allowed your system to permit such arrogant rich a..holes to subvert your nominal democracy with their money and their moneyed snobbery…

It’s obvious that the GOP doubled down in 2012 on the ignorance, hatred, arrogance, and stupidity of the campaign in 2008. Now, they are stuck with a candidate that many will hold their noses to vote for, just because their hatred of Barack Obama has clouded their judgment. But in this case, they get two ignorant, out-of-touch, uncaring jackals for the price of one in voting for Willard. Ann Romney is every bit as pathetic as her husband, and is proving to be yet another liability for him. Of course, he is his own biggest liability.

Hate to see someone you care about maligned? Ask Michelle Obama about that, Ann, Ask her husband’s supporters too.

I don’t think these two (Mitt & Ann) are happy campers @ home either. I saw a brief interchange between them on “Live with Kelly”; it was all I could stomach. But the part I saw, gave me some “food for thought”. When Kelly asked Ann what her guilty pleasure was, she happily replied..”Donuts”..Mitt gave her a sideways glance. And to my utter surprise, when Mitt was asked the same question, he says..”Jersey Shore”..& then he elaborates @ how impressed he was with Snooky’s weight loss & how she seemed so energetic now. I did not miss the daggers in Ann’s eyes that she shot him with; although Ann has put on a few lbs. Evidently, Mitt has noticed as well.

I’m a Republican and found this site. I won’t be voting for President, unless I vote the Constitution Party. Willard is the Republican version of Al Gore… both are embarrassingly obtuse and phony. Newt Gingrich would have been a much more attractive and intellgent alternative to Obama.
And Romney’s wife is just as bad as Willard. The more one listens to either one of them, the more one dislikes them.
In November’s election, the American people lose either way.

Im not going to oppose your post, but you might want to look at Gingrich a little deeper. I think he is very smart, but he is also a mail scammer and in this for little more than to sell his most recent book
He is just like Romney, for healthcare (and other issues) all the way one day then decides he should be conservative and changes with the wind

VERY well said! Thank you. I just can’t help wondering if Mitt showing the underbelly of the Republican party is making some innocent Republican followers stop and think. Is THIS what the Democrats keep trying to tell them about the Republicans? Ya think?
