Arrest of Rand Paul’s Son Continues Family Legacy of Woman Hating
The Associated Press is reporting today that 19-year-old William Paul, the son of Republican senator Rand Paul from Kentucky and grandson of ever-present presidential candidate Ron Paul, was charged with misdemeanor assault. William Paul was taking a flight that deplaned in Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. While details of the arrest remain vague as the story develops, what is known is that young Mr. Paul is suspected of assaulting a female flight attendant “by aggressive physical force.”
We are aware of the historically poor choices made by young adults from time to time and it is critical not to rush to a determined judgment until all facts are brought to light. As I read the AP’s brief piece, I found myself weary and resigned. While William Paul has never run for public office, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, does it?
Remember in October 2010 when MoveOn.org volunteer Lauren Valle had her head stomped at a Rand Paul Rally? Who can forget the repugnant images of the small woman falling under the burly feet of Paul’s testosterone-enraged security detail. A close Paul aide labeled the incident “incredibly unfortunate” at the time., Can we feign surprise at the disrespectful and dangerous treatment of female protesters from a team that believes it has a right to comprehensively control the female body? Rand Paul is opposed to abortion without exception, even in cases of rape or incest. He supports a Human Life Amendment and a Life at Conception Act, which confer more privileges and protection on a cluster of cells than a living, independently breathing female adult. Need it be said that he also favors the overturn of Roe v. Wade, allowing states to decide the issue of abortion unburdened from federal involvement?
And here is Rand Paul’s enlightened stance on the tolerance of sexual harassment in the office: “There are people now who hesitate to tell a joke to a woman in the workplace, any kind of joke, because it could be interpreted incorrectly.”
In 2012, Rand Paul had this to say about the proposed Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill designed to equate the pay of workers irrespective of gender: “Three hundred million people get to vote everyday on what you should be paid or what the price of goods are…In the Soviet Union, the Politburo decided the price of bread, and they either had no bread or too much bread. So setting prices or wages by the government is always a bad idea.”
Given his father’s illustrious track record as a patriarchal patronizer of female equality, William Paul’s brush with the law is hardly shocking. The entitled son of the political elite is further accused of “underage drinking, disorderly conduct and being intoxicated and disruptive.”
Rand Paul must be very proud. His son has done a magnificent job of ingesting and reflecting his father’s ideology. If Paul is concerned about the effect of William’s imbroglio on his popularity and re-election chances, clearly, he has no one to blame but himself.

But the Obama girl were NOT involved in this. Why even bring them up? Obviously because of who his father and grandfather are he adopted an entitled attitudes that lead to the teen being belligerent and abusive. Hopefully his father’s and grandfather’s political positions will not influence justice.

I think that is supposed to be “much ado about nothing”. However, since the Paul men seem to be rather unconcerned about the state of females, I think the incident speaks volumes about the young man’s upbringing.

Ahhh…so the broiler room trolls are on to this site;
their job is to monitor/post their negativity as soon as a new article appears so they get the top slot on commenting…the premise being, if readers see a flaming “stop thought” comment first,(usually few words/few lines “flame”) the reader(s) then react; they either stop coming to the site due to the troll “infestation” or, post (as we are doing) so that the trolls receives a dollar for every response to their flame-thrower…

They are trying to make an ado but they are unable to do so without lying and fabricating. This is a crap article and the writer should be ashamed for trying to pass it off as truth.

I believe this boy has been in trouble for underage drinking before, and that recently. He’s not going to make it into politicks, and without the right intervention, he might not make it at all.

I believe you are correct, however, there is always a career waiting for him in with some fundamental evangelical ministry…as we all know, it would be “good for the boy” to send him off to one of those “good christian” grooming schools (Liberty U, “C” Street). Ya’ know, one of these days, Tony Perkins, Ralph Reed, et al, will DIE and the fundies will have to fill their ranks with a name-brand, fresh faced con artist.
“Junior” here and that other piece of work from New Orleans (O ka-ka! I can’t remember that little weasels name)…the punk who did the video on ACORN

SinghX,
The fake pimpboy who wrecked ACORN because the idiots in Congress are lemmings, is named James O’Keefe. He is not from NOLA, he broke into Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office in NOLA.
Wherever he is from – he should have an address that begins with Inmate No. ________.

Based on the actions and proclivity against women by his dada, he just might qualify for election in his district. After all, dada got elected!! I hope the kid pays a penalty that would be exacted upon ANY PASSENGER EXHIBITING THIS UNRULY BEHAVIOR.

Dj,
Sasha and Malia are being raised by loving parents with standards and expectations. They will never be in trouble. And like Amy Carter and Chelsea Clinton, they will be vilified by the right for being intelligent, quiet, and good students. Compare to Bush’s alcoholic son, and grand daughters who drank in college. Why is it the righteous right can’t seem to pass on all their fake values to their offspring?

If I recall correctly, when Grandpa was asked about sexual harassment in the workplace, he said the response would be for the woman to get another job, not for the employer or supervisor to face any kind of discipline or punishment; you know, all of that “freedom” stuff. So if the airline attendant didn’t like his physical abuse, she should just.. get another job!
My point is that the young man is most likely not growing up with any respect for people who are not like himself and his whack-job family.

Actually, for an instant I took him for that other boy, who was preparing to blow up his high school in Alabama. I can’t peg it, but it’s a look you can find on some very disturbed young white males.

With respect, the “Paul” in question is 19 and legally an adult at least according to the US military….
Reynardine
Jan. 16th, 2013 at 12:08 pm
Legally, he is an adult. Physiologically, the male brain is rarely adult before twenty-five, and as far as examples and life experience, his family history speaks for itself.

True, you can join the military at 18… but you still can’t drink. And just because you are in the military at 18, doesn’t mean that you are an adult, it means that you are a soldier. And sometimes, they are two very different things…

while you are right in practice, this kid is an adult who attacked a woman while being drunk. The only reason this story was written in my mind is because Rand Paul thinks the same of women that his son does.
I would imagine if he had just been arrested for being drunk nothing would’ve said said about it. On the other hand I cannot dismiss what you said

While I agree with you, I know firsthand this young man was a handful as a child due to their inattention and disinterest in teaching them civility towards others. The boys ran buck wild and made fun of children while Mrs. Paul prattled on to anyone who would listen as she loved to hear the sound of her voice and Mr. Paul believed if his child called another child ugly or fat and Rand thought the same, he would allow those insults to be voiced. I think this arrest may have been avoided if the Pauls’ eyes were on the boys and not the Senate.

The Paul family is the type of TEA who have taken over the once proud party of Lincoln and Reagan. Libertarian(L) have used the (R) when they should not have. From the git-go the Paul family are radical in every way and extremist on steroids. It is going to take a concerted effort by everyone interested in taking our country back from the fringe elements who have turned the Republican party into a mockery. Here is another way the TEA-Republican leadership go about rigging elections to keep the nation as “White” as they can – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus says that conservative lawmakers in blue states like Wisconsin “ought to be looking at” ways to rig the Electoral College system to tilt elections towards Republican candidates. Do not sit on the sidelines and allow the few with the most power and stroke to make decisions that will effect you directly without your input. We must remember that money and power in the hands of fewer and fewer people with stricter less compassion has taken hold in many states and Washington is their next target. Do not sit on the sidelines and allow others to make decisions that will effect you, or your family directly, without your input. Get active in local, state and national politics and keep yourselves informed. We can make a great change in the 2014 Mid-term election!

He assaulted a female flight attendant. Hatred of women just seems to spill out all over the place with the Rand Paul legacy. I still remember when a female protestor was attacked outside of one of his events. She was kicked in the head by some right wing jerk who was overly enthusiastic to do the GOP’s bidding…..hate women.

Keep it simple… He is an adult. Whether he acted like an responsible adult is another question. He was intoxicated. Now he must take the adult responsibility for his intoxicated actions. As far as his genetic tree is concern… let his pass, present actions speak for itself and like the scripture states… “a bad tree can’t bear good fruit”. Quite frankly, he has a good chance if he runs for political office in Kentucky. It seems as though the people in his father’s district like women haters… Let’s hope that the Kentucky rye has burn his brains out already since the logical reasoning is that this is not the first intoxication episode….

There will be due process and I guarantee the flight attendant 1) served him 2) tried to mother him at some point and then probably reprimanded him publicly. It happens to me all the time, flight attendants think I’m 18, but I’m almost 30! They can be very rude. And, they’re unionized (my mom was AA flight attendant for 25 yrs) so they’re used to being able to whine and tattle on everyone without repercussions.
