Attention Republicans, Terrorism Has Been On The Decline Since The 1970′s!

I felt compelled to write this article after some of the most racists, hateful and bigoted posts and comments have been violating my sane world since the senseless Boston bombings. I think it’s time for a history lesson. These comments are surprisingly not just coming from the crazy far right, but people who I considered to be educated, even if our opinions on certain topics differ. So, let me start with this; Terrorism on US soil has been on the decline since the 1970′s, and more times than not, were committed by American citizens.
Between 1980 and 2000, 250 acts of terrorism, out of 335, were committed by Americans according to the FBI, and are considered domestic because these attacks were committed by US citizens on our own soil.

 

There are approximately 1.6 billion Muslims living on the planet. It’s estimated about 23% of the population are Muslim. This is second to Christianity. Since 1980 only about 6% of terrorist attacks on America were carried out by Muslims. Worldwide, including dwarfed attempts, that breaks down to about 1/1000 of 1% of all Muslims! In other words, about 99.8% of Muslims are not terrorist.

 

Lets take a “brief” glance down memory lane: (note this list is just a small sampling and doesn’t even put a dent in things, but it’s meant to be used as some forgotten examples)

The Los Angeles Times Bombing — In 1910 two Americans bombed and killed 21 people because they wanted to unionize the paper.

Wall Street Bombing — In 1920 a bombing at J.P Morgan HQ killed 38 and injured over 400. While nobody was brought to justice, it was known to be carried out by American followers of Lugi Galleani, an Italian anarchist.

Unabomber Attacks — From 1978 to 1995, Ted Kaczynski, AKA the “Unabomber”, committed terror and murder by sending out letter-bombs to a variety of people until he was finally captured by the FBI.

Jewish Defense League — From 1980 to 1985 certain members of the “JDL” committed over 18 terrorist attacks, including attempted bombings of a Mosque in Los Angeles and the office of Congressman Darrell Issa.

Oklahoma City Bombing — In 1995 Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols killed 168 people by blowing up the Oklahoma City Federal Building.

Centennial Olympic Park Bombing — In 1996, at the Summer Olympics, Eric Rudolph killed 2 people and injured hundreds. He is also tied to 4 other bombings.

Wisconsin Sikh Temple Shooting — In 2012, Wade Michael Page, a white supremacist, killed 6 people and injured 4 at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

Animal Liberation Front — Used sabotage and violence aimed at facilities that engaged in testing on animals.

Army of God — An anti abortion, anti gay group that has claimed responsibility for bombing abortion clinics and gay/lesbian haunts.

Aryan Nations — A Neo-Nazi group, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ-Christian, has been called the first nationwide terrorist network, and goes back to 1970.

Black Liberation Army — From 1970 to 1980′ the “BLA”, in an attempt to overthrow our government, was suspected of over 60 acts of violence and the murder of 13 police officers.

Earth Liberation Front — This hate group has been classified by the FBI as a top threat against the US, with many acts of terrorism to their list of accomplishments.

Ku Klux Klan — The “KKK” has used violence, such as murder and arson to spread their anti Semitic, anti Catholic and anti Communist and white supremacist agenda.

The Order — A white nationalist revolutionary group who murdered radio talk show host Alan Berg, along with other atrocities.

Symbionese Liberation Army — The “SLA”, a far left hate group, is best known for their kidnapping of Patty Hearst along with several bank robberies and 2 murders.

United Freedom Front — The “UFF” is responsible for over 20 bombings and 9 bank robberies between 1970 and 1980. This far left extremist group liked to target courthouses, military facilities and corporate buildings.

There are so many more acts of domestic terrorism that it’s just to long to list. The rantings of paranoid big-mouth blowholes, like Beck, O’Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh, to name a select few, have created a climate where modern day crazy people think it’s okay to take weapons into a place of worship and gun down a doctor that performed high-risk abortions. Non-stop banter from these “journalist” who like to brainwash the galactically stupid with their daily hate, “Tiller The Baby Killer” absolutely contributed to this mans death, and Lord knows what else!

What prompted my outrage, besides right-wing “news” causing people to go into both stupid and panic mode, a rant from a racist that is being spread around social networking sites, and worse, tagged to a celebrity who absolutely not only never said this, never thought it! After each numbered psychotic  plan, you’ll see in bold (Me:) That is actually me addressing, or attempting to address the insane racists remarks!

“I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here’s one plan”:

1) ‘The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will apologize to the world for our ‘interference’ in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those ‘good ‘ole’ boys’, we will never ‘interfere’ again.

 

(Me:  Really, I have friends who actually said “I Love This”  Really, you love Hitler?? )
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don’t want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.
(Me:  Has it occurred to anybody that we are there for a reason?  Be it good-will or strategic? I’ll refrain for the moment on the holes in the fence!)
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We’ll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They’re illegal!!! France will welcome them.
(Me: Way to much on immigration to even start to express my outrage, but I’ll just say this; Illegal aliens pay sales tax, buy food, pay rent, get haircuts, see a movie, etc.  They don’t cost us money, they make us money.  Not to mention working for $6.00 an hour picking strawberries!)
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don’t like it there, change it yourself and don’t hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don’t need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.
(Me: Just dumbfounded and speechless.  If you’re unable to figure this out on your own, yes, you’re a racists!)
5) No foreign ‘students’ over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don’t att end classes, they get a ‘D’ and it’s back home baby.
(Me: Really?  Did this nutcase who wrote this just make this crap up?  YES!)
6) The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
(Me: We export more oil than we import, for one.  I guess igniting tap water, killing animals, and destroying our planet, are okay.  I mean common now, 3 devastating spills in a weeks time, the Gulf of Mexico, etc., ring any bells!)
7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don’t like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)
(Me: Actually, we import most of our oil from Canada and Latin America, and again, export more than we import)
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not ‘interfere..’ They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army.. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
(Me: Pray to Allah?! I may throw up!  As two examples, I wasn’t aware that Haiti or Japan had a large Muslim contingency.  Also, the next time some catastrophic event happens, like Super Storm Sandy, I’ll remind those that asked for handouts because they lost everything, but are not willing to give, to send back the international dollars that flooded in, as well as their help)
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don’t need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
(Me: No comment, to stupid for even this angry person to address)
10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us ‘Ugly Americans’ any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH…learn it…or LEAVE. Now, isn’t that a winner of a plan?

Seriously?!? (Me again) I can’t tell you how many times I saw this vile piece of garbage and the ridiculous comments that followed pass by my eyes.  I of course defended Mr. Williams, and had a few back and forths, but thought I could reach a bigger audience and spam these TRUTHS instead.
So, my fellow Americans, yes the Boston bombing was horrific, no question, but to blame the entire Muslim population because your’e unable to shut off Fox or CNN and pay homage to the likes of Ted Nugent, you need to grow up!  Oh, not to mention that they actually were US citizens and so far, have ties to nobody but the Internet on the “how to”.  The how to has also been around for decades, it’s just quicker and easier now with the use of the Internet.
Post Script Edit: It occurred to me that these two lunatics killed 4 people and now some want him lynched, well Nugent and friends do, but the fact that 33 people a day are killed in the US by guns and we can’t get a background check law passed, add’s more insult to injury!  I’m also not adding in accidental shootings or subsides!
