Bill Clinton Hammers Romney and Warns Voters Not to Be Fooled By His Lies
By: Jason EasleyOct. 10th, 2012more from Jason Easley
Bill Clinton is hammering Mitt Romney for saying anything in an attempt to get elected president. The former president is also warning voters not to fooled by Romney’s lies.
Video:
Here’s the transcript:
I had a different reaction to that first debate than a lot of people did. I mean I thought – wow. Here’s old moderate Mitt. Where have you been, boy, I missed you all these last few years. But I was paying attention in the last two years, and it was like one of these Bain Capital deals, you know where he’s the closer. So he shows up, doesn’t really know much about the deals and says, tell me what I’m supposed to say to close.
The problem with this deal is the deal was made by severe conservative Mitt. That was how he described himself for two whole years, until three or four days before the debate, they all got together and said, hey, Mitt – this ship is sinking faster than the Titanic, but people are still frustrated about the economy they wanted fixed yesterday. So just show up with a sunny face and say I didn’t say all that stuff I said the last two years. I don’t have that tax plan I had for the last two years. You going to believe me or your lying eyes here? Come on! What are you doing?
And if I’d been the president I might have said, well I hate to get in the way of this. I miss you.
Bill Clinton has the Romney strategy perfectly diagnosed. Romney is going to spend the next month being all things to all people. He is going to say anything. Yesterday, moderate Mitt became pro-choice. Later his campaign walked back his remarks on abortion a couple of hours after he made them.
Some may think that Bill Clinton is a hypocrite for calling out Romney’s lies, when he lied during the Lewinsky scandal. The difference between Clinton and Romney is that Clinton didn’t lie to try to get himself elected president, and more importantly in the eyes of many, Bill Clinton lied about a personal issue.
Bill Clinton didn’t run for president either time on a platform of contradictory lies. This is an intentional strategy on the part of the Romney campaign to muddy the perception of their candidate. I suspect that the Obama campaign will be prepared for the two Romneys, and I would be looking for President Obama to draw the distinction between moderate Mitt and severe conservative Mitt.
The gentle lighthearted tone Bill Clinton demonstrated is probably the best course in dealing with a perpetual avoider of the truth like Romney.
Obama’s likability and personal approval ratings went up after the first debate. People like Obama, and if he can untangle Romney’s web of lies without seeming heavy handed or getting caught up in trying to debunk a rapid fire quagmire of falsehoods, he could have a great deal of success at the next debate.
The trump card for Obama is that people like and trust him more than Romney. If the president uses this to his advantage, he will have a very good night.
Bill Clinton is right. Romney is lying to get elected, but this is nothing new. He did it when he ran for Senate. He employed this tactic again when he ran for governor, and he has used it in both of his presidential campaigns. Bill Clinton showed Obama how to address Romney’s serial lies, without getting tangled up in them.
The Obama campaign now realizes that this election is all about Mitt Romney, and their effectiveness in dealing with Romney’s compulsive lying may determine the outcome of this contest.
The old slugger Bill Clinton knocked one over the fence. Now let’s see what Joe Biden and Barack Obama can do with the game on the line.

The real tragedy of our country is that literally millions of our fellow citizens will vote for this pathological liar no matter what.
They just don’t care about the actual truth of Romney, or whether he talks on both sides of his mouth about anything.
To these people it is simply a matter of ‘winning’ at all costs. Thus they have no actual principles except the need to win at all costs.
In ‘winning’ they then ‘validates’ they miserable lives not matter how more ruined they will become of the very policies that the pathological liar Romney has. And, of course, those are the same policies of Bush and the Repiglicans that almost brought our country to a total economic collapse.
And those policies destroyed many of their miserable lives already. This makes no difference to these cretins. It is just about ‘winning’ in order to validate the delusional and fictional reality they have created for themselves.

stormskies – ginandtacos has a piece up about this phenomenon:
“Such people are, in an intellectual if not literal sense, brain dead. They’re not processing any new information except to sift it through the filter of their beliefs and reject anything that doesn’t fit. Yet at the same time, and at a more basic level, they seem incapable of believing anything. Do the polls matter, or are they made up? Does the unemployment rate measure the health of the economy, or is it politically manipulated? Are the troops being removed from the Middle East too soon, or not soon enough? If the answer to any of these questions is “It depends on who’s winning / who’s in power”, congratulations. You’re what’s wrong with America. This is why we can’t have nice things, like a half decent debate about our problems and how we might go about solving them.”
No, I don’t know what to do about it either, without involving fantasies of mass re-education trailer “camps” and pink jumpsuits. And that’s just for the 1%.

I have no doubt that when Romney says one thing and then his staff walk it back just hours later, that this is all being done on purpose.
Say what the left wants to hear while on the stage, and then tell the right what it wants to hear after you get off the stage.
Intelligent, votes who are paying attention will see through this and know what a liar and con artist Romney is.
BUT, THOSE WHO ARE LOW INFORMATION VOTERS WILL ONLY HEAR ONE OR THE OTHER.
Romney does NOT care what people think of him. He is a narcissist and only cares about what HE thinks of him. And all HE wants is to be president, no matter what ANYONE thinks of his character or lack thereof.
Romney also knows that ALL he needs to do to win is GET MORE VOTES AND IF HE CAN GET MORE THAN OBAMA, EVEN BY LYING TO LOW INFORMATION VOTERS THEN HE WILL WIN.
Romney will lie to the right to get and keep their vote but I do not think he is as “afraid” of losing the extreme right’s vote as much as he just actually agrees with what they stand for as well.
Romeny cares about being the biggest authority in the world and surpassing what his daddy was able to accomplish. He wants to prove to daddy that he is not the wimp I think his dad knew him to be.
Romney wants to control the U.S. he does not want to lead. Romney want to CONTROL the free world for his own ego. Romney is NOT interested in leading much less serving anyone except himself.
Wake up people. This is not a corrupt politician. Romney is just as mentally unstable as Sarah Palin. He just has more money.

Correction:
Romney IS corrupt but my point is that corrupt politicians are NOT necessarily mentally unstable and Romney is definitely mentally unstable.
His mental instability to me is more dangerous than just being corrupt.
Ann was not misspeaking when she stated she would worry about Mitt’s mental health should he become president.

I’m not saying that Romney is going to be some great president, because who ever gets elected is not going to be a good person for the job. But in times of crisis did you know mentally ill people where amazing leaders? Many of them without any meds which can be argued that they were unstable. Take for example Abraham Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luther King JR., Winston Churchill, and many other prominent leaders. Anyways thats my rant, like I said before whether it is Obama or Romney is president its a lose-lose situation for voters

RICH-TAXES
In 2010, 25 Hedge Fund (Gambling) Managers made 22 Billion and paid 15% Income Tax Rate
but little or no payroll tax.
In 2008, top50% got 86% of individual Income and paid 12.5% Tax Rate
70,000,000 workers got 14% and paid full payroll tax.
We MUST return to 1945-1980 Tax Rates on Income and Estate Wealth if we are to pay down our horrid , primarily, Republican created debt. Republicans refused to tax to get revenue to pay our way.
Romney will be a repeat of that policy.

Bill Clinton and Bill Nye are both on a streak of shouting at and this is why I love 2012.

I heard Mitt state his foreign and security policies and I was shocked to hear him talk like mostly like Bush. “Bomb them!” “End some states as we know them!” “Be tough with them!” The world has moved far away from the Cold War days. America is just one of the countries in the UN. You cannot bully ant country whether it is eritrea of Southern Sudan. You cannot start looking like a bully all over again, Mitt. The hatred of the US is what resulted in 9-11 attacks. Mitt diparages the palestinians and then says he will “champion for a safe and free palestinian state”. As an observer, I feel Mitt is more dangerous as a leader of US than any other president in modern times. He has even overtaken Bush in caring less about how many americans can die in combat. This is a pity.

I had the pleasure of listening to Bill Clinton speak last night. He was in Tempe Arizona supporting Carmona for the Senate.
Clinton is the best orator of the era, and should be the “designated debater” (as in baseball have the designated hitter) he is able to dispell those weavings that the GOP makes get people into their politics of fear and make their supporter uneasy about everyone else. Bill Clinton explaining the College Obama loan and the Pell grants should get top billing and top exposure, as it is not nearly as recognized as a progress made, and the risk of losing this benefit if the GOP gets their way.

Mr. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” warning people not to trust someone else… That makes sense.
