Sarwate is blatantly lying in this piece. President Obama used Newton today to cast the Republicans in a negative light. Boehner is actually trying to work on the source of the problem – spending. Simpson-Bowles recommended $3 in cuts for every $1 in revenue increases. The President’s plan is maybe $1 to $1. I don’t care what side you’re on – just be honest.

John Boehner is a pitiful excuse as a politician and as a man. He can shed tears at the drop of a hat, but somehow the gross inappropriateness of using this tragedy in any way for political purposes is lost on him. He is caught between a rock and a hard place that he and his fellow Congressional Republicans have more than earned with their partisan pettiness and their willingness to throw countless Americans under the bus. He is a nasty piece of work who cannot be out of Congress soon enough along with other Repulsivecans who put party first. The families of many of these Connecticut victims have yet to bury their fallen loved ones, and this hateful moron has the nerve to use this occasion to try pushing the GOP’s heartless ideology.
