Boehner Says Obama Is Using the Troops as Props But His Sequester Will Leave Vets Homeless
By: Jason EasleyFeb. 25th, 2013more from Jason Easley
Speaker Boehner claimed today that President Obama is using the troops as props, but his House passed sequester would leave thousands of veterans homeless.
Here is a clip from Boehner’s press conference:
The Speaker said, “Instead of using our military men and women as campaign props, if the president was serious he’d sit down with Harry Reid and begin to address our problems. The House has acted twice, we shouldn’t have to act a third time before the Senate begins to do their work.”
Boehner is still trying to spin the sequester as belonging to Obama when both the physical evidence, and historical record show that the sequester is the lovechild that sprang from the ideological loins of Boehner, Ryan, and the rest of the House Republican leadership.
It is interesting that Boehner would bring up the troops in any way, because according to the White House fact sheet on the impact of the sequester, “More than 100,000 formerly homeless people, including veterans, would be removed from their current housing and emergency shelter programs, putting them at risk of returning to the streets.”
Speaker Boehner accuses Obama of using the troops as props, while the sequester that he got passed through the House would leave them homeless.
The House Republicans have put themselves in a position of having to argue against the sequester spending cuts, when their entire ideology has been based on spending cuts since Barack Obama came into office. The only card they have left to play is to blame the president, which is the same card they always play, so they really have no cards to play.
House Republican should realize that if they would have done their jobs properly, and passed a sequester replacement that could also pass the Senate, they wouldn’t find themselves in the weak position that they are in today. Boehner’s calls for Obama and Reid to act are an admission of his inability to get anything done. John Boehner has admitted his own incompetence by cutting his caucus out of the process. In essence, Boehner was admitting that he can’t get anything serious passed.
John Boehner’s attempt to bring the troops into the discussion is another Republican sequester blame game fail.

Yep, just absolve yourself of all responsibility for doing your job, Boehner. He should also say that the bills passed in the 112th Congress are defunct in the 113th. The main reason he can get away with this lie is because he knows millions of Americans don’t know that when a new session of Congress begins, any bill that was acted upon in the last session is DEAD.

America sees through Boehner and his propaganda. He’ll have to explain to the voters why the GOP attacked Medicare and SS instead of Corp. Welfare and tax loopholes that have left the wealthy and high profit industries paying lower tax rates than a local school teacher.
The GOP’s position on Veterans issues and Obama’s are well known, and the military isn’t fooled by the GOP’s pandering to corp. profits once again.

If the repubs would stay around long enough they would know that Obama has a plan and has had for months, they are terrified of the Oil companies (aka Koch’s)

20 years ago they pulled the ‘chained CPI 1.0′ on military retirees. Every year you’re retired, you get less.
I used to be able to scrape by on a Major’s deferred reimbursement. Now,I’m way below the poverty line. And too post-traumatic to work. The sexual abuse is all in my head, per the VA.
Guess who’s next?

First, whatever act that the bonehead and his asylum did was in the old congress and since this is a new congress dont mean jack. Come on media do your friggin job instead of being a stenographer.
Second and this is so full of fail I didn’t believe he would go there. You send troops off to a war of choice, underfunded the care of wounded troops to the point that they had to lay in their own piss and shit at Walter Reed www.salon.com/2007/04/11/... and you are concerned about a photo -op?

Another case of projection on Boehner’s part. How many times did George W Bush use the troops as props for assorted photo ops?

It’s called DARVO– Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. Every abuser and offender uses this technique, from battering husbands and abusive parents right up to W,Tony Bliar, and Hitler
