Today we can celebrate Hopey ordering the Department of Health and Human Services to establish a rule that would prevent hospitals who participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs (the majority of hospitals) from denying visitation privileges to gay and lesbian partners, among other groups who suffer discrimination under the current prevailing policy of “relative-only” visitation.

We’re going to run on repealing healthcare reform. We’re not going to be a part of any solutions. And lastly, I am bringing Palin back for another Hail Mary next week.â€
In an interview that will air on CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday night, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel waded into the civil war that is going on within the Republican Party. Emanuel refused to identify the tea partiers by name, but he described the state of the GOP as being, “at the behest of a fringe group that’s taken control of their own party and their own leaders are scared of it.”
The half-term governor of Alaska who quit mid-term due to an inability to get her agenda passed and indeed, even her own Attorney General nominated (a first in Alaska), strikes out at Obama, calling him “inexperienced†and unable to get a bi-partisan bill due to his “lack of management experience.”
The Nuns have came together to say they care MORE about pragmatic reality, MORE about helping people, MORE about correcting the unjust practices in the current healthcare system than they do obeying the patriarchs of the Catholic Church, who are cynically catering to political powers. Yes, let’s pretend that they actually voted to ensure that in nine states, health insurance companies could tell a woman who has been battered that she has a pre-existing condition.
Congressional Republicans and Democrats have converged on the White House for a day long summit on healthcare reform with President. If you thought that the Republicans would learn from the beating that Obama gave the House GOP when he spoke to them at their retreat a few weeks ago, you were wrong. Republicans are still sticking to their talking while letting the president make the case for healthcare reform.
Senior White House advisor David Axelrod was on Meet the Press today, where defended Obama’s criticism of the recent Supreme Court decision on campaign finance at the State of the Union. Axelrod said, “I certainly think it was appropriate for the president to talk about the threat that this decision brings to our democracy.”
At his daily briefing, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked about Pat Robertson’s comments that Haiti was cursed, because they had made a pact with the devil. He said, “It never ceases to amaze that in times of human suffering somebody could say something so utterly stupid.”
Republicans like Rep Pete Hoekstra are expressing their shock and outrage because they believes that President Obama should have been more Republican in his response to an attempted terror attack. He should have been more like George W. Bush who waited six days to answer questions about the foiled shoe bomber attack.
The old right wing knows how to play the left’s justified concern over justice, truth and transparency to a t! Oh, I’m sure the unplanned delay of the announcement wasn’t politically motivated. LOL. I mean, just because everything else in the Bush Justice Dept was is no reason to think….Sure, many of the same people who were illegally appointed under Bush are still in the DoJ. But I’m still sure it’s all Obama’s fault, even if he fixed it.
On Friday’s O’Reilly Factor guest host Laura Ingrham was running through the conservative reaction to Obama’s Nobel speech, which most conservatives praised, except for Sarah Palin who tried to take credit for the speech by saying, “I thumbed through my book this morning to say wow, that really sounded familiar.”
Some on the left have decided to show their depth by criticizing President Obama’s first year in office. They write stories about Obama’s Katrina or Obama’s Vietnam. Even though Obama has had a brilliant first year, they still aren’t satisfied. How much do they want from a man who has been in office for less than a year?
Dear Republicans, we know you’re having a hard time with this concept, so we thought we’d send you a friendly reminder about the election results last year. You lost. We do not trust you to be in charge of anything, even the local WalMart.
People don’t seem to get the origin of the Nobel Peace Prize, because all over the internet, you will read:
“How can they do that?”
They can do that because that was the intention of the prize….from the beginning. And it is THEIR prize. It is privately funded. They can do whatever they want. It was intended for visionaries, not necessarily an “accomplishment”.
After all, peace starts as a belief. Having the vision for a nuclear free world is huge. It starts there. Did W have that commitment? did John McCain? No. Even Hilary Clinton didn’t embrace peace as the ideal the way Obama did and does. So, it is rather special, in point of fact.

The self-described “conservativesâ€/aka, hatriots can’t feel proud of their country if it means anything good for their President. Now, at last, the GOP has aligned themselves with the Taliban for all to see.
Republicans are insinuating that Obama’s “delay”, aka, seeking input from naysayers and congress before making a decision regarding strategy in Afghanistan, is indicative of weakness on Obama’s part. Apparently, Republicans have been suppressing Congressional War Powers and the Constitution for so long now that they just assume it’s a given that everyone does so, and failure to do so is smugly rebranded as “delay”.
Republicans have sold the meme that they just need more “time†to draft a good health care reform bill. More time? They had control of the House, Senate and WH for 6 years and they never even brought this issue up! They’ve had all summer to review the various plans and come up with an idea. Heck, they took us into a pre-emptive war with a sovereign nation quicker than that!
My life in the house I’ve been living in for 25 years is on the line and I feel utterly helpless. I’ve been involved in what seems to me to be an eternal process of loan modification, and as I’ve been massacred by that same process very recently, the trauma of that colors my fears today.

Nine GOP lawmakers have sent a letter to Holder warning that the U.S. could face a terrorist attack if the attorney general appoints a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA’s use of torture against “war on terror†suspects.

By the way, what in the heck were they doing copying an Australian birth certificate and passing it off as Kenyan? Maybe Palin told them Australia was a continent in Africa?
Remember earlier this year when President Obama took office and suddenly the stock market plunge of October, 2008 was his fault? Each little or large market dip; a trust-worthy reflection of the job performance of our new POTUS? Sure, we can judge him on Jan 21, 2009 as a bad President, just look at the stock market! Well, look at the market now.
Not content to root only for the failure of President Obama, on his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh declared America a failure because Obama is succeeding. Rush said, “Ladies and gentleman this country is failing because Obama is succeeding.” Rush claimed that the economy is hopeless, and we are all doomed.
On CNBC, Rick Santelli went on another rant, but when told that we have to worry about ordinary Americans, Santelli said that ordinary Americans, “should get a better education and earn more money,” but at the same he blasted spending more money for education.
