The insurance companies in S.C. are already warning coastal residents and the state legislators about possible flooding in the future as a result of climate change. It remains to be seen whether the GOPers who control the state legislature will be willing to heed the advice. I’m thinking they won’t because they’re afraid of the very vocal republicans in the state who are heavily into denying that climate change is occurring.

These are the same people who will be hollering for FEMA when floods destroy their property. They’re screaming about too much government spending now, but that tune will change when the natural disasters start happening, and they find that the GOPers they sent to Congress will refuse to fully fund FEMA. It happened here in GA in 2009, and it’ll happen in N.C., too. It’s only a matter of time.
