Conservative Group Launches Ad Against ‘Obama’s Bag Man’ Mitch McConnell
ForAmerica.org is none too pleased with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) because in saving America from going off of the fiscal cliff, he abandoned “conservative” (read: jihad against reality) principles. For this sin, McConnell is being targeted in an ad campaign to run in “the Senator’s home state of Kentucky and in Washington, DC on websites including the Drudge Report, FoxNews.com, and the Daily Caller.”
A screenshot of the ad:
For America claims to be “an online army of over 3 million people.” It’s chaired by Brent Bozell. In December of 2011, Bozell accused President Obama of looking like a “skinny ghetto crackhead” on Fox News. For America claims to be a non-profit corporation whose goal is to “educate Americans about traditional and contemporary American values, to relentlessly fight the growth of government, to oppose any substitute to freedom and self-government…” You get the idea — “traditional American values” equal calling the President of the United States a skinny ghetto crackhead. That’s surely how the founders rolled.
Explaining his jihad against McConnell, Brent Bozell issued a statement in which he referred to McConnell as “President Obama’s bag man in the latest fiscal cliff disaster”:
“Conservatives have had it with the Republican Party. The party that was once for freedom and limited government no longer exists. We now have two tax and spend parties in Washington. Senator McConnell often talks a tough game and sells himself as a conservative, but his actions speak louder than his words. His role as President Obama’s bag man in the latest fiscal cliff disaster clearly demonstrates that Senator McConnell is more interested in the art of the bad deal rather than standing up and fighting for conservative principles. It is time for conservatives to stand up to politicians in both parties who talk conservative but govern as liberals.”
Bozell is conservative writer and activist, who was the President of the Parents Television Council from 1995 to 2006. Proving that conservatives hate being on the receiving end of anything remotely resembling their own behavior, he once accused Keith Olbermann of preaching “hate speech” after Olbermann featured him in his “Worst Person” segment. Bozell claims to be preoccupied with “decency” in media, having led the charge against Janet Jackson’s nano-second of breast exposure in the 2004 Super Bowl half-time show. His actions through the Parents Television Council led to accusations that he sought increased government control over television programs (irony alert).
Conservatives have spent the last four years calling President Obama every name in the book. Now they’re finding themselves on the receiving end of their own mind-blowingly hypocritical hate-machine. This would be enjoyable, except that this behavior is responsible for Congress’ inability to get anything done for the country.
Mitch McConnell is being targeted by his own side for being willing to do his job. That pretty much sums up the modern day Republican Party, even though Bozell claims he’s not a Republican. He just hangs out on Fox News, hates the President, and seeks to use the government to impose his religious beliefs on the rest of America. In other words, he looks, sounds, and acts like a Republican but he claims he’s not one. Another “rebrander” at work.

Good I hope that all so-called “conservatives” start hating the Republicans for being too moderate. I hope they vilify all of them, so that soon the conservatives will have NO party that caters to their delusional agendas.

I agree that McConnell is pretty awful, but we do have to deal with the people on the other side of the aisle. God help us if we end up with Ryan.

Brent Bozell has little or no credentials other than a BA in History. Obviously he needs to go back and read his history books.
No political theory in the US has ever lasted by trying to bulldoze its opposition into submission. The best example is obviously the pre Civil War south. In attempting to bulldoze its institution of slavery across the country it wound up broken and busted. Then it again found itself on the wrong side in the civil rights era after World War 2. Their last desperate gamble of forcing all citizens of the US to accept their religious idea of a sky god and his son watching us is also doomed to fail.
Hannah Arendt in her magnum opus “The Origins of Totalitarianism” shows how racism and religious xenophobia leads to mass movements and their unprincipled leaders ready to pluck the low hanging fruit of ignorance. History shows that correct thinking people always defeat ignorance and pathological hatred.

Now, obviously this is not the intended message of the ad, but the way they set it up makes it look like the choice of “whose side are you on, Obama’s or Biden’s?”
