Glenn Beck is Outraged That Current TV Sold to Al-Jazeera After Rejecting Him
Conservative lunacy is rapidly accelerating after that harsh bump into the wall of reality. First conservatives take to twitter calling for Sarah Palin to replace John Boehner as Speaker as if that would be a good thing for conservatives. Then Glenn Beck reacted like a jilted lover to the news that Current TV was sold to Al Jazeera.
Before Al-Jazeera bought Current TV, TheBlaze looked into buying it but we were rejected by progressive owners.
Note: We would have put #TheBlazeTV in millions of homes across the country, not the existing line up.
Atlantic Wire’s report confirms that Beck did indeed approach Current TV a year ago.
Glenn Beck’s The Blaze approached Current about buying the channel last year, but was told that ‘the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view,’ according to a person familiar with the negotiations.
Apparently Beck was not in a clown suit at the time he offered to buy Current. I wonder if he told them of his plan to convert the network into an all Blaze TV all the time outlet. Did Beck honestly believe Current Viewers would magically transition from Liberals to a version of conservatism that was too extreme for Fox, home to Mike Huckabee and former home to Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrinch
Can anyone else imagine the look of bewilderment, terror and sympathy for Current Viewers on Al Gore’s face?
Aside from the horror of Current being reduced to a clown show, it’s possible that Beck didn’t have Current’s reported asking price of $500 million minus $100 million for Al Gore who owned 20% of Current.
Erick Erickson offered some hate rhetoric to soothe Glenn’s broken heart.

So Current TV was okay with Al Qaeda’s favorite news network buying it, but not Glenn Beck? www.glennbeck.com/2013/01…. Wow.
For many years, we understood that we could make a positive contribution to the news and information available in and about the United States and what we are announcing today will help us achieve that goal. By acquiring Current TV, Al Jazeera will significantly expand our existing distribution footprint in the U.S., as well as increase our newsgathering and reporting efforts in America. We look forward to working together with our new cable and satellite partners to serve our new audiences across the U.S. I am both exceptionally pleased and very proud that we could take this very important step.
Glenn Beck and his fans apparently missed the fact that his old home of Fox News is owned by Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal (with a 7% stake, the largest shareholder after the Murdochs’ News Corp), whom one of their own (Farah of World Net Daily) accused of blaming America for 9/11.

meanwhile what fox and the rw wont tell you , is that the minority owner of newscorp a saudi prince, put major pressure on timewarner to pull current 15 minutes after qatar based jezzera finalized the deal. and while i will miss stephanie miller while we have our am coffee, gore and hyatt, really didnt want to put in the cash to run a real cable outlet like rupert did. rupert put in 100 million each year, of his own cash to keep fox afloat for the 1st 5 years. fox didnt make any money for that time, but rupert made sure they had the technology, and real production to look like a real alternative to what CNN was then.[ cnn really was about news, HLN, was all news, for years]. and lets face it currents production budget was a little more than cable access. thats what made obermann leave, it was mickey mouse, when he was promised a real production team and facility.
the really sad thing is, i can only get real international news from jezzera, and chinese owned CCTV. [ even CCTV is china centric] even thought the coverage is very interesting, i know Qatar is anti Israel, and have seen typical Arab skewed reports. this is another sad day for progressive media on cable. but as i know a current producer, i have been saying to them, their audience is NOT on cable, but watching content on the web. cenk made his name on his self produced young turks. numbers were really low, but he was able to get a small but smart audience sample.
i hope the sf based producers who are going to be looking for work, take the current model, run a web portal, with live feeds of the radio shows they already are simulcasting. add thom hartmann, randi rhodes, etc, to that line up…. its the under 30 demo that is not on cable, but thru twitter, fb, redditt, they can reach this demo…
i hope google people take notice on their burgeoning google tv, and youtube live, and make their live system available that a current like web only content

Ecellent points! it’s a damn shame most conservatives don’t have a CLUE about the behind the scenes nonsense about the corporate media that feeds their empty heads!!!

Obviously conservatives have not watched Al-Jazeera English, a straight news channel. It also presented two presidential debates between third-party candidates.
As long as they improve the network, like getting rid of MSNBC weekend-like shows like “Marijuana Wars” and “Last 24,” it will be good. This holiday period was absolute rubbish; one would have expected some “fiscal cliff” coverage from the evening folks for a few extra dollars.

Beck doesn’t want to compete with professional journalism. CNN and the networks need to get their game on.

EARTH TO GLENN BECK:
You’ve been fired by both CNN and Fox — what seriously makes you think millions of homes want to see you?

Beck is so pissed about the results of November’s presidential election and not being able to buy Current TV that he has banned any mention of President Obama, by name, on his media outlets. Many Americans may not believe it, but if one wants the bare facts about American politics, he/she should read/watch foreign media. Foreign outlets can afford to present the unvarnished truth because they have no skin in the game. Die Spiegel and the Moscow Times were two of the first foreign media outlets to tell the truth about Sarah Palin while our MSM was engaged in playing patty cake with her.

Correct me if I’m wrong — but, is it true that he has his studio designed to look like the Oval Office? And, when he has an appearance or book signing, he arrives in a black limo surrounded by armed guards who resemble Secret Service Agents, as though he’s the President?
If so, that, combined with his ban on mentioning President Obama by name, sound like the delusional activities of someone who simply can’t come to grips with the fact that a Black man many times more intelligent than himself is in the White House . . .

Yes, he cries, after applying liberal amounts of Vick’s Vapo-Rub into his eyes. He’s a complete & total fraud in every aspect of his being. Can’t even cry naturally like “Boner.”

what finished beck with fox was his O’Reilly interview. he opened a can of worms, which basically was the old illuminatti conspiracy, and when bill kept trying to steer the theory towards president Obama, Beck kept saying No, that it fell under GHW Bush and his new world order. i have doubts about one, but an elitist state sounds like a Bushism- and any conspiracy, if there is one, would be linked to FOX and their support of anything republican.
however, his lunacy is bashing democrats while supporting the conspirators that he is informing the public of. lunacy upon more lunacy

the stephanie miller show was good stuff. i think that current t v was beginning to become a strong alternative to fox , and also forced msnbc to stay progressive. this is sad , as now once again we will lose progressive programming.

So if any of the right wingers complain how a left-winged organization sold their company to another left-winged organization, tell them: Hey, it’s free market at its best. Don’t like it? Then demand the government to regulate capitalism.
That shall shut them up.
