Donors Flee As Sarah Palin’s 15 Minutes Of Fame Comes To A Close
With the news that Sarah Palin’s PAC was only able to raise $1.562 million and has only had 24,000 donors in 6 months, we may be watching the end of Sarah Palin’s Paris Hiltonesque fame.
No matter how you look at it SarahPAC’s six month fundraising totals are bad. Palin took in less than 1.6 million dollars. She only had 24,000 contributors who made 36,000 donations. According the National Journal,
Despite spending most ($1.592 million) of that figure in the same fundraising period – $65,000 on other candidates and a $18,700 donation to the Young America’s Foundation – the PAC has $1.402 million cash on hand.
The supposed Alaskan fiscal conservative spent almost as much money as she took in over the last half year. As you can see above, Sarah did not spend that cash on helping the Republican cause. Nope, Sarah spent the money promoting Sarah.
Here is Palin on Hannity last night trying to keep the hype alive by teasing a possible presidential run:
Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com
The whole idea that Sarah Palin could jump into the presidential race late and be a factor was predicated on her ability to raise money, but what happens now that the money is no longer coming in? In politics, a figure’s degree of relevancy is related to their ability to raise money. If Palin can’t raise money, then she is no longer relevant.
Her bus tour obviously wasn’t the cash cow that SarahPAC hoped for, and my guess is that the reason why it was canceled has a lot to do with these fundraising numbers. The bus tour was a publicity stunt which was designed to thrust Sarah Palin back into the spotlight and get the cash flowing again. It didn’t work. The old adage that you have to spend money to make money only applies if you actually make money.
SarahPAC was so desperate to jack up their fundraising numbers that they were giving away copies of her mock documentary “The Undefeated” in exchange for a $100 donation. Apparently, they didn’t give away too many DVDs. When you put it all together, Sarah Palin’s declining book sales, her less than capacity crowds at speaking engagements, and the unmitigated failure of daughter Bristol’s book the cumulative picture it paints is that of a celebrity in decline.
Ironically, this declining stardom may end up being the exact reason why Sarah Palin runs for president. A presidential campaign would be Sarah Palin’s final desperate stab at reviving her brand. Nothing would reinvigorate and inspire her loyal followers more than Palin chasing the Republican nomination. Her supporters have been waiting for her to run for president since the 2008 election. If Palin gives them anything less, she’s finished.
As these terrible fundraising numbers illustrate, if Sarah Palin wants to keep making money she had better run for president.
Never has someone in politics gotten so much fame for doing so little, but Sarah Palin is running on fumes.
Her fame clock is at 14 minutes, and only a presidential run can keep her celebrity clock from expiring.

C4palin are talking around this stuff. The PAC money cant be used to run for pres anyways. Those people dont seem to understand the bus tour quit and the every other thing quit means she will quit running for pres as well.
All they talk about is she will run she will run.
BTW Palin, the congress spends the money. Not the president. They can fund or not fund as has been proven with the fences on our southern borders
She should run just to be able to write a book of lies
I do like her hair. And I enjoy hannities lies

I am afraid she will run and she will put the final nail in the coffin. She is nothing but nasty and mean and is a divider not a uniter of the country. All she will end up doing is leaving this country with a terrible racial problem when she is finished.

A sample.
Little Timmy (in the Well) Crawford is paid $90,000 (PLUS expenses) as “Treasurer”.
She spent $14,000 to shrink wrap her bus – then she spent $26,000 for airfare, lodging and a rental car. WHY? She had a bus. She evidently flew to the airport, picked up the rental car, checked into a hotel and then boarded the bus for 5 DAYS?
She paid her parents $3200 for “postage and mailing”?
The best her Bots can do will never finance a campaign – and she will continue to grift off of these poor misguided cult members as long as they buy her drivel.

I knew it,all she has to say she is going to run and she really doesn’t need any money the press will give her plenty of free news coverage and the more they give her the more dumber they will make her look and the less attention the other right wing-nut jobs will get they will become irrelevant, then she be given so much attention and she loves the attention, the more SNL clips of Tina Fey/Sarah. There will be some great comedy TV and then Obama will just win. The press knows exactly what they are doing.

Hillary Clinton raised $230,000,000 through May 2007 for her presidential race. Palin’s contributions are truly pathetic and she is definitely no Clinton! Please run Sarah! I would enjoy the comedic relief.

Liberal Female: Clinton gets her money from corporate donors and special interests. If it’s not from someone like you or me, it doesn’t really count. They are both equally pathetic. The only difference is one is better at being pathetic than the other.

I agree Clinton is hard to swallow! (like Monica did)
but she is nothing like palin.
she has credentials…. First lady, Senator and
is very impressive as the Secretary of State.
there is absolutley positively….
no comparison at all between Cliton and quitter sarah.
she(Clinton) might be able to pull in cooperate funds like no other.
but then again look at the koch(kock) bro’s and all they give to the rePUCKblicans.

This has nothing to do with Palin, this is the death of Fox not-News in being able to define who are and who are not the political pseudo celebrities.
It has never been Palin, Bachman, Huckabee and the end of Beck and his Beckerheads.
Real conservatives are finally realising that the Fox not-News political minions, were as far from conservative as exploitative libertines en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lib... can be.
So why does the ‘Marquis de Sade’ a devout libertine so bring to mind what GOP politicians have become.

The donors may be fleeing Sarah Palin right now, but the minute she throws her hat into the ring the donors will come back.Americans in general have a 15 minute attention span and it will not be too hard for Sarah to overcome her negatives. She does has something over Bachman, Sarah is sexier and she flaunts it (Newsweek) and most men will still fall for it.
I hope you are right here that Sarah is declining but I do not believe it yet. After all most of the time on this site you say that Obama is just taking the GOP to the cleaners and yet at the same time there is a long list of what laws the GOP have passed or introduced to limit our freedoms.
Sorry, but I am a bit miffed. Why or why was the GOP been able to get away with so much idiocy? Is it that some people simply watch or listen to the things they want to hear and not pay any attention to the opposition?
O’Reilly thinks that the Democrats and the liberals are on the decline and many believe him.
Why does this site attack and belittle the progressive democrats so much? Sure they go overboard here and there but a lot of other people do as well.

Sadly, most of her fan club donors are on SS and/or disability. She’s going to need the big boys to back her. They might be willing to back a crazy woman, but not one who refuses to play ball. She’s a Rogue, don’t you know, and THAT is going to leave her in the dust with fundraising.

I believe we have had 3 articles in 2 weeks addressing this issue even if in passing, which is hardly a lot. Aren’t they entitled to their opinions just as those on the far left are?
Furthermore, people got tired of it because many of the criticisms are not accurate, and are merely right wing talking points. Left unaddressed, they create a poisonous atmosphere which in 2010 led to people not voting and hence, the amount of legislation passed in the House. We are being hijacked by extremists and if we don’t speak out, who will?
It was just revealed to many people that the leaders of that faction worked with the tea party to kill healthcare. The same folks used racists comments to describe the African American community and called union members “thugs”. These are all right wing talking points, not liberal values. You can imagine that upsets liberals and moderates who fought so hard for reform, for unions, and for civil rights and basic human rights.
Extremes are not good on either side, and when people call themselves “liberals” but hate this President so much that they rail on him for trying to pass unemployment benefits for the suffering (something liberals value and would support getting done even if it means a compromise), it frustrates those who understand how the system works. Liberals are supposed to care about law and order as well, and not urge the President to expand the powers of the executive office even for the cause.

“Why or why was the GOP been able to get away with so much idiocy?”
Actually, I believe Obama continues Guantanamo, re authorized the Patriot Act and continues to borrow, tax and spend just like the clown before him. We even have more troops in Afghanistan and have permanent bases in Iraq, which, he also did not vote against.
“there is a long list of what laws the GOP have passed or introduced to limit our freedoms”
What laws? Both parties are bought and paid for.

I read on The Immoral Minority blogspot that Palin was threatened with a lawsuit for stealing the logo she was using on her bus. Another politician had trademarked it. Maybe she didn’t want to spend the extra money to change the logo on the bus is the reason she ended the tour, or maybe it was because she was ridiculed for her misinterpretation of Paul Revere’s role in the American Revolution. She seems to have a really thin skin for one who constantly brags about how thick her skin is. I see her as a bully who is big on the talk and weak when challenged on her BS.

WTF
Bristol Palin interview on Leno
Leno asked Bristol Palin if she thought her mom quitting the Governor’s office hurt her chances of running for President, “I don’t think so no, definitely not,” she continued, “There were so many law suits filed against her and it was just costing the state tons of money and us personally tons of money and she just wasn’t able to do her job with those law suits being filed.”
Leno noted that that happens with every Governor everybody gets law suits and that they are part of the job. Palin replied, “Not to the magnitude that she was getting into, she just wanted to put her state first and she knew that it wasn’t good for the tax payers to be paying that kind of stuff against these frivolous law suits so she left that last year to her lieutenant Governor.”

One of the most telling facts about this report, and all previous ones, are the number of missing contribution attributes, and the number of missing expenditure attributes.
In this report alone, $800K of expenditures has not been categorized. Where did that money go?

The fact that in 2011, she is still saying the president has neither experience nor the “common sense” she claims to have is a measure of just how delusional she is. His presidency has been marked by turmoil and being forced to deal with major national as well as national issues that she has never had to deal with and never will. The folks on FOX Noise live in an alternative universe, and so do their followers.
